As time went by, a select group thought that if the people were to survive they would need symbols to guide them away from war.  Ohm was a volunteer for the program to make him a beacon for his people.  Being genetically altered and turned into a super soldier that his people could look up to, and fear if they decided to continue on the path they were on.

<div style="text-indent:40px;">  Ohm never got the chance to save his people.  The war took the lives of the scientist, the only people able to wake up Ohm and the other Beacons of hope.  Sealing the fate of the Martian people in the process.  While in cryosleep, Ohm lost everyone and everything he knew.  Resting for a thousand years.
