Artur Father, Ivan Wolkov, was an ex-Russian Soldier who fought on behalf of the Russian goverment during World War II and shortly after retired. Artur Mother, a former Russian military nurse, met his father during the war and the two shortly married. After Artur birth, the two attempted to flee russia after witnessing decades of war, rebellion, and goverment opression. John family arrived in the U.S in 1963,, and were met with resentment and hostility.
