| − | Lara's early days were consumed with drinking, partying, and just having fun. Being a nymph came with many stipulations. As a nymph, her duty entailed protecting nature, however as a nymph she was also an object of great desire. Lara was an attendant of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, joy, and pleasure. Lara’s great beauty, which some would say had been on par with Aphrodite and even Hera herself, made her a magnet for attention. It wasn't long before her great beauty had drawn Zeus into her life. Lara was very well aware of what Hera would do to Zeus’s lovers, and knew getting involved with Zeus would ultimately be the end of her. After Zeus’ several attempts at seducing Lara,she decided to run away. She sought out a very well known woman named Selene, a nymph adept in art of magic. Selene agreed to hide Lara from Zeus and Hera, by placing her in a magical cocoon deep within the ocean. In exchange, Lara gave Selene her spot by Aphrodite’s side. Lara emerged from her cocoon many years later, and awoke in the underwater continent of Lemuria*. Lara was praised by the Lemurian people and even worshiped by some. Lara was taken into the Crescentwave family, one of the wealthiest and most prestigious families of Lemuria, and has since been known as Lara Crescentwave.
