Sauricas are humanoid avian mammals originating from the planet Aegle.

Physical Description

Sauricas are roughly human-sized, each with a pair of wings capable of flight in adults. Their bones are hollow, which would make them lighter than a human, but their muscles are denser than a human's, making them heavier, as well as more physically durable and able to lift or push greater weights than a human on average.

An adult saurica's wingspan is usually twice their height.

Culture

The sauricas from Aegle wear lightweight clothing, with soft metals such as gold often worn as jewelry. Heavier metals are reserved for weapons and architecture.

A warrior culture is deeply ingrained in their entire planet's history, and their global government is supported by a military composed of gladiator marines. Gladiators prove themselves in local or national combat tournaments, and enter the military only after making a name for their self. Wearing armor is considered cowardly, and high-ranking officers wear little more than a helmet and a bit of fabric for modesty.

Relations

Sauricas have limited contact with humans. Birdman and Sparrow were among the first to make contact with Earth, and have since become Earthling superheroes.

The saurica are among the species the Ganthorian glorgs have declared war on.

Aegle is a recognized allied world of the IDDSS.
