I threw myself in front of her, "leave her alone" I choked out, the smell of this creature gagging me. It opened its maw showing sharp broken teeth sticking out at odd angles and covered with blood and filth. It was smiling. The smile made me want to scream, cry, crawl under the bed, and wait for it to be gone.
