Powers and Abilities
All of Augment's abilities stem from the augmentations that allowed him to survive.
Electrical Projection
Augment's enhancements depend on both solar batteries and rechargeable batteries. Because of this, he can project this electricity out through his body. This includes both a general battery of energy in all directions or a concentrated, crippling blast.
Claws
Augment has claws that mechanically flik from his forearms. This is his primary means of close-range attack.
Known Weaknesses
Crippled Humanity
Augment sometimes forgets he's human. The fact that so much of him is machine, and so many people treat him like a robot, causes him to occasionally act like the cold, calculating mechanism he looks like. Another explanation is early-onset Alzheimer's Disease. Whatever its cause, it is getting worse and potentially a danger to Augment and others if it is not controlled.
Nemesis
Augment's friend was critical to getting James not only back on his feet, but more capable than ever. Unfortunately, he has also become his greatest threat.
Truthfully, Augment bears some blame for Jake's bad transition. When Augment joined the Guardians, several member heroes took interest in and began assisting Augment with his enhancements. Augment no longer needed Jake's help, and Jake became contemptful. Jake also began to resent Augment's increasing press and his failure to mention Jake in any of it, a great injustice to Jake since he was responsible for most of Augment's abilities.
With new time freed from no longer needing to work on Augment, Jake began to work on his own enhancements. He built himself a power suit with many gadgets and tweaks and called himself Mod. He began to show up at disasters and tried to upstage Augment, often causing more damage in the process. Eventually, Mod gave up on pretending to be a hero at all and started to acquire as much technology to enhance himself as possible. Augment began trying to stop him, and Mod has hated and worked against his former friend ever since.
