In-Charcter Information

Origin Story

Summoned by a Cult seeking to drain the magical energies from demons. Upon discovering she possessed no magic, despite being born into a world abundant in magic, she was cast aside left to fend for herself in a world she knew nothing about.
She wandered the streets of Millennium City lost and confused for hours before stumbling into a laboratory. The lab scientists found her the following morning. She was looking over the various inventions in the lab curiously, absolutely fascinated by the technology.
They taught her about science and technology. Eventually she learned enough to start building things. Her skills at inventing were almost natural, all except one small issue with wiring that caused everything she made to spark wildly. Since she had no memory of her name the scientists named her Ely, jokingly at first.
As time passed she developed her skills more and more. She began work on a suit of armor meant to emit pulses of charged energy. Though her inability to wire things properly caused the suit to discharge highly charged electrical bolts instead. Through a bit of tinkering with the suit she developed J.O.L.T. (Joule Overload Limiter Technology)
Ely devoted herself to protecting Millennium City, under the name Blastwave, and seeking to uncover information about her home and someday find a way to return.

J.O.L.T. Suit

J.O.L.T. or Joule Overload Limiter Technology, is a system Ely accidentally invented in an ordinary power core for powered armor. The J.O.L.T. core causes a massive build up of electricity that far exceeds the limits of any known capacitors with only a minimal power input. While the technology could theoretically prove useful in the power industry, it is very temperamental and difficult to contain. The coils on her suit serve only to create a feedback loop into the core when it discharges, acting as lightning rods to draw the energy back in. The core must be discharged regularly to prevent a catastrophic overload. Ely's unique physiology also makes her one of the only people who can safely operate the suit.
