Once a psionic detective, Tracy Portminster survived a vampire attack only to have her abilities mutated. Still operating out of Vibora Bay, detective has become vigilante, utilizing her sleuthing skills and her new lifestealing powers to root out dangerous criminal cliques and remove the heads of snakes.

Powers
Tracy has limited mind-reading abilities and can sense the life force of others nearby, and is able to use this to pinpoint their location even through walls. With a psionic component affecting her vampire abilities, she psychically drains energy from others rather than doing so via sucking their blood. Her main abilities, however, are mental skills. She has a keen investigator's eye for detail and can detect when someone is lying to a superhuman degree.

History
Tracy's history as a police and private detective serves her well in her superheroic pursuits, though being a vampire limits whom she allies with and where she goes.
Detective Portminster
Tracy made it to the rank of detective while in the Vibora Bay police, before witnessing the murder of her partner, Alice Cawthon, left her shaken. She quit the police service and became a private investigator after too many psych evals made her paranoid. During her self-employed stint, she learned the art of disguise and went undercover to investigate a crime group who appeared to be dabbling in dark arts. One of her clients had their wife killed in what appeared to be a blood sacrifice. But Tracy got in too deep.
New Shadows
It turned out the group she was investigating was a splinter cell of the New Shadows, a vampire gang with their eyes set on taking over all of Vibora Bay. The leader of the splinter group was Hunter LaBeouf, a vampire with plans to form a group of his own thralls. He cornered Tracy and attacked her, but her psionic abilities helped her resist his psychic control after turning. She killed him with a piece of plywood lying in the alley they fought in.
Tracy now had to come to terms with being a vampire, and her investigation business crumbled. She was assumed dead after her investigation of the New Shadows was discovered.
Blood Mage
Tracy sought help from the Trismegistus Council, who helped her figure out what changes had taken place within her psionic abilities. Imbued with blood magic, she now resembled a sorcerer of the dark arts, and she trained under Xephelousa, a council member with a vast knowledge of black magic, but Xephelousa was surprised to discover she'd never heard of anyone like Tracy before.
After becoming a respected member of the council over 4 years, Tracy was now ready to take on a new persona as Blood Mage, and resume investigating crime rings, but this time as a hero working for the citizens of Vibora Bay, not for the state or for herself.
