===The Smuggling Ring===

Jackson Mason could be considered the standard inner city kid. He grew up in a crime ridden neighborhood. Gangsters and street hustlers, and drug addicts were all part of the neighborhood was all a part of the community he called home. Fighting rival gangs, crooked cops, and avoiding gun shots at night was a skilled he learned early. With all the negative influences in his young life, Jackson mostly stayed out of trouble thru his high school years, all in part of the lessons he learned from the woman that raised him, his loving grandmother. Even though Jackson Mason grew up in a rough side of town, he was still a good kid with a high sense of moral values that his grandmother instilled in him at a young age. She taught him to always stand up for himself and fight for what is right. Regardless of the outcome always do the right by yourself and others no matter what outcome. Jackson was an average student but he worked hard to maintain his grades even when he had

The following is presented as summaries of the Adventurers as if it were based on an actual comic book.

Immediately after he graduated high school he lucked up and landed a good paying part time job working for a scientist named Dr. Adam Wilcox at a small research laboratory near the outskirts of his neighborhood. Jackson ran errands for and moved heavy equipment around for the doctor, Jackson had no idea the doctor was commissioned by the U.S. government to study and unlock the secrets of an ancient alien artifact that fell to earth. Also unknown to Jackson he worked dangerously close to the hideout of a local small time gangster who was muscling in on all the local business for protection money. Dr. Wilcox refused to pay the criminal any money regardless of any threats. While Jackson was working alone one night he found himself confronted by a group of thugs who had broken into the lab to vandalize the building due to lack of payment to the local mob boss. Jackson successfully fought off the men, but knocked the alien device onto the floor. The strange item began to glow and vibrate. As Jackson picked up the item it exploded in his hands releasing unknown strange alien energies knocking the teenager unconscious.

The next morning Dr. Wilcox discovered his young helper’s body transformed and laying on the floor of his laboratory. Once the doctor was able to wake Jackson they both discovered the alien energy had altered Jackson’s body. His muscle mass and destiny increased by unknown levels over night, and gave him incredible abilities.

Later that day when Jackson regained his senses, he and Dr. Wilcox begin testing the limits of his new found powers, and Jackson decided to confront the local mob boss who sent his men to the lab. He easily defeated the mobster and all his men. The gangster vowed vengeance on the Jackson and his family when he found out who the young man was. In that instance Jackson gave the mobster the name Mace Steele so that his real name would not be affiliated with anyone. And Thus '''Mace Steele''' was born. He continued fighting against the element in his neighborhood, in an attempt to make the streets a safer place and to make his grand mother proud. It wasn't long until the stories of Mace's heroics spread across the city and then the nation.

Mace Steele possesses superhuman strength and stamina, and has extremely dense skin and muscle tissue which render him highly resistant to physical injury. Steele possesses these abilities as a result of his exposer to the unknown alien energy which fortified the various tissues of his body. His skin can resist high caliber bullets, puncture wounds, corrosives, and extreme temperatures and pressures without sustaining damage.

| With the help of Fox (aka Zero), Red Spider began tracking threads on possible smuggling ring participants. Using Fox's past identity as a renowned international assassin to try to set up a gun buy. Red Spider, inexperienced with the nuances of black market deals, sprung into action too soon, but together she and Fox managed to take down the bad guys.

| Team member Artifex helps confirm through computer research that Doctor Killowatt is probably the alter ego of one Doctor Anthony Kozhan. It also comes to light that the Doctor's "thefts" were actually a ruse! The real objective was to distract attention from the fact that he was using those sites to drop off ammunition to his buyers, and counting on investigators to worry more about what was missing than what was present. Fox, Guidelight, Red Spider, and Illusion respond to an attack at the MC Light and Power Building. The Adventurers fight valiantly, Red Spider is taken prisoner by Killowatt's agents, and Fox & Illusion are injured.
