Early Years

Carolina Mitchell in high school

Carolina grew up in Upstate New York. As a child she was was always coming down with colds and viruses. As a result of her poor immune system, Carolina would often say indoors and study or make up work she missed by staying home from school. Despite her illnesses she was able to be Valedictorian of her local high school despite her record setting absentee record.

Mutant Manifestation

Shortly after graduation, Carolina became deathly ill with a never before seen virus that the Center of Disease Control labeled only as "FBD-1". With the situation dire, Carolina's family feared the worst

Overnight, Carolina was in perfect health and had no symptoms of any disease. However, despite all best efforts to contain the virus by the CDC, all medical staff caught the mystery illness regardless of protective measures and died days later. A full investigation was preformed and it was determined Carolina was a mutant with the ability to strengthen and project her inner illnesses with deadly effect.

Released from the hospital, but kept under constant surveillance by the CDC, UNTIL and PRIMUS. It was then she became noticed by several criminal organizations but chose not to affiliate herself with them citing moral reasons.

Mutant Academy X

Always interested in education and learning, Carolina chose to enroll with Mutant Academy X where she was able to focus on controlling her dangerous viral abilities. While here, she also perused further traditional education education.

While at the academy she befriended Joshua Fairchild, a fellow mutant student. After a close relationship with Joshua he told her about his plot for revenge on his father, one including her. She panicked, releasing a potent flesh eating disease on Joshua, leaving him horribly disfigured.

She is a graduate of Mutant Academy X and holds a doctorate in Bioengineering and Education.

Crime Fighting

Contagion

Shorty after graduation, Carolina had a short stint in crime fighting under then name Contagion. She quit soon after stating that it was much too dangerous for both her and those she inflicted with her viruses to continue.

X-pelled Mutant Academy

Shortly after graduation from Mutant Academy X, a newly formed group of investors and board of education founded X-pelled Mutant Academy. The school was founded as an offshoot of Mutant Academy X but more for reforming troubled youth mutants with behavioral problems, dangerous abilities, and socially unacceptable physical mutations. The board of eduction contacted Carolina to fill the role of director of the new school due to her stern demeanor and experience in education. Remembering her accident with Joshua and wanting to help reach other troubled students, she agreed.

Powers

Carolina has a resistance to all viruses and bacteria. She is able to not only strengthen diseases within her body, but also around her then project them to a target in concentrated ranged attacks. She can also emit disease from her skin in duress. She is also able to form disease clouds in certain shapes, or ride on them in the air as a form of flight.
