Bears are mammals of the family Ursidae and include such animals as the Polar Bear, Grizzly, and Giant Panda. Bears tend to be medium to large animals with wide, solid bodies. Despite their size and strength, most bear species are omnivorous to some degree.

Because bears can be found on almost every continent, they are common symbols in heraldry, mythology, and modern media.
