The Eldraxian People

Eldraxians are characterised by their numerous cat-like features, including fur, eyes, tail and ears. The colouration of their fur can vary between regions of their homeworld, planet Eldrax in a similar way to how humans have different skin pigmentation. The colouration of Eldraxians can range from a siberian/snow patterning and colouration, to a simple sleek black fur.

As a result of their pack mentality, Eldraxians are generally reserved and prefer to keep to within small social circles, rather than branch out to different friend groups. This stems back to the time when they were primitive hunters and would travel in small hunting packs of 10-20. This same pack mentality can cause lone Eldraxians to feel a sense of insecurity, vulnerability and paranoia - sometimes to a state of insanity - as they spend more and more time seperated from their kin.

Species Diversity

A demonstration of how Eldraxian fur colour can vary in a similar way to human skin pigmentation.

Colouration

The Eldraxian species is almost, if not more, diverse than humans. They can vary in size, build, complexion, colour and a multitude of other aspects in much the same way the humans can. Previously it was relatively easy to tell the region an Eldraxian had been descended from via their traits, but as Eldrax has become modernised many Eldraxians have taken to travelling the world, or moving to settle in the more highly populated areas.

Tribal Eldraxian packs are still primarily made up of Eldraxians with similar - if not the same - fur colour. The swamp tribes are primarily coloured a muddy brown, the desert tribes a 'sandstone' or reddish colour, and arctic tribes range from light blues to pure whites.

Discrimination via Colour

This kind of colouration via region has led to racial discrimination on Eldrax which is similar, albiet slightly less disabling, than Earth's current kind. There is no such case of Eldraxians being alienated due to their colouring, but the style of colouration associated with the marshlands and swamps result in Eldraxians of that colour being referred to with derogatory nicknames. The name "tribal" has also recently started to be used in a derogatory way to describe somebody from the swamps.

Tails

Contrary to the ingame model, not all Eldraxians flick their tails behind them. This used to be the case back when they used to hunt, but with the modernisation some Eldraxians opt to simply let their tails hang down to their ankles. In the capitol city, leaving your tail to hang is a current fashion trend.

Some Eldraxians of over or around age 40 (Eldraxian Years) may develop a tuft of longer hair on the ends of their tail to denote their entry into what was previously considered old age in the time of tribal Eldrax.

Weight

Although their skin can vary in a similar way to humans, this diversity is not present in their body types. Most Eldraxians have average-to-lithe body types due to their tribal, hunting roots. Previously, any Eldraxian who was too weighty would simply slow the pack down and be left behind.

Becoming obese or even slightly overweight on Eldrax is considered hugely inconsiderate to others, despite the fact that modern Eldraxian society isn't pack-based at all. Most Eldraxians are shunned at even the slightly hint of putting on more weight than people would be used to seeing, which is about 160lbs at maximum, give or take a few pounds for differing genders.

Language

Eldraxian native language is not vocal in any way. They 'speak' through a combination of body language, sign language and facial expression. Their vocal chords are primarily used for bestial growls and snarls, but with enough effort can be used to convey a verbal language such as English.

Purring

Eldraxians cannot naturally purr, but due to their physiology they can learn to.

Meowing/Mewing

Eldraxian vocal chords are unable to make meows or mews in the same way that terrestrial felines can.

Eldraxian Culture

On Eldrax, Eldraxian culture has gone through significant changes. Previously, they were a primitive, tribal race that would hunt and live in small packs of anywhere between 10 - 20, which would then split into two separate packs once they reached a population of 20.

Relationships on Eldrax

Unlike most relationships on Earth, Eldraxians mate for life. Soulmates are traditionally chosen when the Eldraxians are near the age of thirteen, however this tradition is often overlooked in their new, modern age - Eldraxians still try to find soulmates, but no where near as early usually.

Due to their biology it is impossible for an Eldraxian to mate with anything other than another Eldraxian.

Arrival on Earth

Most Eldraxians arrive on Earth via spacecraft, which (thanks to the efforts of Rhundas and Eldraxian scientists) UNTIL are able to track and be ready to help any Eldraxians in need in the case of a crash landing.

Eldraxians are then generally escorted to the nearest UNTIL, PRIMUS or UNITY facility and are gradually educated in the English language, culture and social norms. Naturally some Eldraxians take to the schooling more easily and/or co-operatively than others.

Most of the time, Eldraxians are then debriefed by Rhundas or an appropriate equal of authority within the Millennium City branch of UNTIL before they're allowed to go out and integrate properly into human society.

Making an Eldraxian

If you wish to create an Eldraxian, please contact @Rhundas ingame. All new Eldraxians are noted down to attempt to stop anyone hijacking the idea and driving it into the ground. Eldraxians are not necessarily obliged to join the specially created ingame Supergroup, "It Came From Eldrax", although you will be offered a place.

Rhundas will personally try to welcome all newcomers, but if you have your own reasons for being released from UNTIL without debriefing, please discuss them with Rhundas OOCly.
