The lilin are demons, often thought to originate from Lilith or a Lilith-like entity, who attack humans during sexual activity or after. Often the lilin target humans to feed off the sexual energy and/or the life force of their target, though they sometimes seek procreation. When a lilin targets a female, it is traditionally referred to as an incubus, while it is called a succubus when it targets a male. Many lilin freely target both sexes, while others favor one over the other or shun one sex entirely. In modern times, the sex of the demon itself is often incorrectly used to define whether it is a succubus or an incubus.
