A character who lives in, is from, or is otherwise associated with the American West. What constitutes the West varies but typically includes the Mountain States of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, and Nevada and the Pacific States of Washington, Oregon, California, Alaska, and Hawaii. West Texas or the state as a whole is often also considered to be part of the West.
