DialGoz!

Who is DialGoz?

DialGoz is a regularly re-occurring character in the Starsworn Stories series, the Eternal Master-at-Arms! Seemingly immortal, he has appeared in every game to date and it's spinoffs. In most games, he's a battle-fanatic who either guards or procures powerful artifacts, in the hope of attracting powerful challengers, thus he's usually an optional boss. In others, he actively stalks the group, training and sparring to get them into proper shape. After all, who'd 'want a fight with a flabby hero?!', as per his own words.

In the hammiest way possible, too! But he's never truly depicted as a bad guy : once the spar is complete, he'll be glad to help the player out in whatever way possible, up to and including holding off the mini-boss-squad while they go after the main boss.

If he hasn't been blown up, anyway. He's a fan-favorite for his hammy-go-lucky personality, his kickass costumes and the sheer 'badassery shenanigans factor' he brings to the game series.

Starsworn Stories!

This nine-parter videogame series is the birthplace of DialGoz. Naturally, quite a few gamers have played it.

The Basics

  • The world's name is Ivalion.
  • Science, magic, martial arts and even steampunk are all represented in the games, though the level of representation differs, depending on which part you're playing.
  • Magic is comprised of 8 main elements : Earth, Fire, Water, Wind, Light, Dark and the elusive Star. Sub-elements are also possible, and may even be born of combining several elements.
  • Star-Type magic can only be used by the Starsworn, and it is the only element that has no direct weaknesses to any other element. However, learning the spells takes a far greater effort. It's usually worth the reward, though.
  • There's loads of intelligent races: elves, dwarves, Undead, humans, catmen, ect.....As such, the cast of characters is usually pretty diverse.
  • There's tons of gods as well, with a lot of difference of skill and strength. Praying to them and serving them well tends to come with supernatural perks. At the top are the Illusterious Ya'Nu-L, or 'Space Gods', as they're referred to by the common folk.
  • Said Space Gods supposedly created everything : the world, races, animals, even the other gods. And then handed the place to their creations, content to simply watch how it all pans out....save for some brief interventions, aka the Starsworn. Sadly, not all of them are nice gods...

Starsworn Stories 1 : Darkness's Paragon=

Age : 210 ACoC (After Creation of Calender)

Location : Zaurex, which is distinctively inspired by medieval Europe.

Main Character : Feline Dwersun, a female dwarf fighter. She's decisively gruff and always willing to give people a chance. Of course, once you piss away your chance, it's all over in her eyes.

Synopsis :

Magic is only recently surfacing in the world of Ivalion, and those who show an aptitude are feared by the public. The 'commons' are demanding that they be locked up or even killed in the name of public safety. Feline becomes an outlaw as she defends a young firemage called Tizzer from a mob. In the process, she discovers her aptitude for Star Magic. Together, they begin a life of traveling.

They quickly come across a cult called the ShadowStriders, a group who says they want to help mages out. At first, they seem on the level, as they deliver information and resources that help out a lot. But Feline and her company discover the truth halfway in : The ShadowStriders are trying to find and control enough mages to create a beast race solely for the Dark god Daemus.

Now on the run from the public AND the ShadowStriders.
