(Continued from link.) The most recent bloodline was a set of three sisters--the eldest with Nightwolf blood received from her father, the middle child trained to be an assassin, and the youngest intending to be a field medic. Their parents were a medic and an officer injected with an experimental Nightwolf serum. These three sisters grew up--Sierra, Mareike, and Mitzi--and moved into a house together. Sierra was the first to marry and bear a child, followed by the quiet and reserved Mareike. The only catch was that Mareike was not married, and refused to identify the father, lest the Captain be demoted for his affair with her. Mareike gave birth to a girl nine months later and named her Engel.

Engel was loved by her family members. Mareike was able to take Engel to her caring father for a time, however the older Engel became the more distant he had to become. By the time that Engel was three, she could no longer see her father, or else she could recall his face and identify him. Little Engel's sorrow for this passed swiftly, and within a week her father seemed to be forgotten. Mitzi and Nachthund both weren't all interested with Engel, but Mareike and Sierra both pampered the toddler and made her feel right at home. Unfortunately, Mareike became fatally ill when Engel was two, and over time it had worsened. Before Engel could turn four, Mareike peacefully died at home under Mitzi's care. It had become the sisters' job to raise Engel from there.

Mitzi still refused to have anything to do with Engel. Sierra gladly accepted the burden of raising Engel as one of her own. As Engel grew, Sierra's son Nachthund became more fond of Engel, and soon the two were the best of friends. Neither one would be seen without the other. Eventually that number grew into three when Engel found herself a female Japanese exchange student by the name of Tsuboki. The three playmates spent morning and night together for the years to come.

Sierra and Mitzi had never seen eye-to-eye. Between Mitzi's schizophrenia and Sierra's instinct to be the dominating female at times, Mitzi eventually decided that she had had enough with Sierra and wanted her gone. The straw to break the camel's back was when Sierra found the files that bled out in detail how Mitzi would turn Engel into the "perfect assassin"--all files which had obviously been founded by Mitzi's not-medicated schizophrenia. After Mitzi countered by planting evidence promoting Sierra as working with a rival organization, Sierra was listed for execution by the 5th Column. Sierra was unable to evade this fate, and after a key promise and goodbye to Engel and Nachthund, Sierra left their house. After engaging in combat and wiping out half of the executioners, Sierra was shot down on the outskirts of Berlin. Engel was eight at the time of Sierra's death. Engel grieved over the loss of her beloved aunt, and never knew why she had died or if she had been framed.

Engel had learned to understand that Mitzi wasn't fond of her, and while Engel still loved her, she knew to keep her distance. Nachthund ultimately helped in raising Engel, all through schooling and training to become an assassin like her mother. Engel became as close to Nachthund as she was to Sierra, and while Tsuboki was still a favorite female companion, the family bond between the cousins was inseparable. Engel joined the 5th Column when she turned seventeen, and Nachthund was her partner in crime.

However, Engel had become old enough for Mitzi's experiments to take place. Whether or not Mitzi saw the experiments as being good for Engel or for her own personal gain, she set the dates for the first of the experiments--the augmentations. The new recruits and their partners were set out on missions to raid the bases of the same rival organization that Sierra had been framed with. The Cyclos family members branched out within the base, and when there was an opening, Mitzi turned on Engel. Engel was aware of her aunt's mental condition and assumed that Mitzi couldn't recognize her, but when Nachthund attacked Mitzi to save Engel, he was shot down by three doses of neurotoxin to the skull. Engel was unable to save her cousin, and stayed by his dying body until his last breath. Nachthund repeated the same promise which Sierra had used, and after Engel again enforced the promise, Nachthund died.

While Engel was busy grieving over the loss of her loved one, Mitzi tranquilized her and erased Engel's traces. To the world, Engel had been killed by the organization. But in reality...

The Augmentations

(NOTE: Skip over this section if you are the faint of heart. These were all added directly after Nachthund's death unless otherwise specified. Over half of the following augmentations are no longer applied to Engel. The ones which are still applied will be marked by *.)

Conscious:

-* Wrist blades passed down from Mareike were drilled into place in Engel's bones at the wrist. This made Engel permanently armed, however the blades were retractable. This process was repeated over the next year until they were equipped properly.

- Mitzi believed that sleep wasn't necessary, and that fatality could come in the blink of an eye. Because of this, Engel's eyelids were removed and had an implant invisible to the eye to keep her eyes moistened. Engel's eyelids were replaced by black, threaded stitches to close the wounds.

- Engel's lips were stitched shut with the same stitching used on her eyes. The reason for this addition is unknown, but is suspected as being used so that if Engel is ever captured, she can't give away any information.

Unconscious:

-* Respiratory system "upgraded" to being able to withstand harmful fumes, dust, or smoke. Ventilators were added on the sides of her neck, where air enters through whenever Engel breathes in through her nostrils or mouth.

- Skin-colored latch to eat and drink through was added to Engel's neck. This was necessary as Engel's lips had been stitched shut.

-* Technology was added to Engel's immune system. This technology speeds up the healing of wounds, increases Engel's metabolism by a set amount, and extends her lifespan/greatly slows the aging process.

-* Makeshift flamethrowers were added to the underside of Engel's wrists. These are significantly smaller than the average flamethrower, and were originally nowhere as strong as one. The Chaos enhancement Engel has improves the strength of this fire and buffs it considerably. (These were added after Engel joined the Tower in CoH years before Millennium City.)

- Had a microchip planted in her skull to serve as a mock shock collar. The chip was used for a short time before being removed and disposed of by Death Excell. (This was added and removed after Engel joined the Tower in CoH years before Millennium City.)

-* Demon wings were shipped in and added to Engel. The original intention was to use steampunk-themed wings, however the wrong shipment came in and Mitzi was impatient. The addition of these wings do not make Engel a demon. The wings were implanted through science and were not spawned by Engel herself. (These were added after Engel joined the Tower in CoH years before Millennium City.)
