Heads Up

The following content is a mix of newspaper articles, found tapes and even looks into Etherloch's mind, at various stages at his life. This is so you both learn something about his history, AND something about him as a character. I know it's confusing, but just bare with me. If you feel like getting some shorter, more to-the-point descriptions of some of his encounters with 'the pigs' (The Adventurers), go check out their PRIMUS-page. Without further ado, here you go..

CHAPTER ONE: ALL GOOD PIGS GO TO THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE

((This is chronologically after chapter three, and is told as a lost audio-recording))

"Billy quit the job. You can't blame him, he never really did like all the meat and blood. Besides that, it's not like he was particularly good at cutting the stuff, either. Anyways, glad you wanted the job, I wouldn't be able to do this alone. As you probably know already, we specialize in swine, here. The farmers make sure we receive the creatures, and we cut them up, then deliver the meat to whoever owns it. All the good pigs go to the slaughterhouse, here. We don't want bad meat, after all, nobody would want to buy bad meat. Let me show you where they all hang. Pun intended. As you can see, we've got around 300-350 pigs hanging here. They a-.. Are you alright? You aren't looking too good, your face is going all r-.. Oh god.. Oh god, what is t-.. What are you!?" - Audio recording from a slaughterhouse in Texas.

CHAPTER TWO: BUT WHERE DO ALL THE BAD PIGS GO

((Is told mostly from a simple 3rd person perspective, but, as Etherloch begins developing a simple mind, has intrusions of what could very well be Etherloch's thoughts))

4:30 AM, Location Unknown.
The scientists of Source Biotech are developing an illegal serum. It goes wrong.
The scientists of Source Biotech keep trying to develop the serum. It keeps going wrong.
The scientists of Source Biotech manage to get their hand on DNA from several alien creatures. Something happens.
The serum being developed by the scientists of Source Biotech, having been given the code 'ETH-34-LOC-H', begins growing.
The serum being developed by the scientists of Source Biotech, having been given the nickname 'Etherloch', begins growing smarter.
I HAVE NO MOTHER.
The serum being developed by the scientists of Source Biotech is no longer a serum. It's a being.
I HAVE NO FATHER
The weird being, developed by the scientists of Source Biotech is loose.
I HAVE NO SOUL
The scientists of Source Biotech are all dead.
The being, Etherloch, escapes. It feeds. It grows. It grows smarter. It grows stronger.

CHAPTER THREE: THE GOOD PIGS MUST BE DELIVERED TO THE SLAUGHERHOUSE

((This chapter is told from yet another simple 3rd person perspective))

Etherloch begins travelling the country, driven by pure survival-instinct. Texas, Austin. Los Angeles, California. Salt Lake City, Utah. Vibora Bay, Florida.
Etherloch was hunting for food in Vibora Bay, he felt a certain curious attraction towards a warehouse. Outside the warehouse was a sick, fragile man. Prey.
Etherloch snuck up on him, when suddenly, costumed humans arrived.
Etherloch got surprised, as suddenly an invisible human attacked the costumed humans. And the prey.
Etherloch will not let them take his prey. Etherloch attacks.
Etherloch fights for most of the night, until he is frozen, by the previously invisible opposing human hunter.
Etherloch dries. The prey is lying there, infront of him. He feeds, as the humans disappear.
Etherloch feels himself growing stronger. He feels as if though the fight taught him something, but he is not sure what.

CHAPTER FOUR: ARE THESE PIGS

((Is told both in 3rd person, AND in Etherloch's thoughts))

He's in a playful mood today, Etherloch.
He's well-fed, non-threatened.
Who wants to play with Etherloch? Etherloch travels across the human land. He sees one of their nests.
Two small things are playing with eachother. They are laughing and chatting. Etherloch wants to join.
Etherloch makes himself a body. He sits besides them.
The small things go silent. What is wrong with them.
He can feel, that he is burning the grass beneath him. Stop being quiet.
Etherloch kicks over their colorful table. What is wrong with you, stop being quiet.
He begins getting mad at the creatures. One of them begins making noise.
Etherloch looks at the one, who was making all the noise. What is wrong with you, be quiet.
He is furious, they don't want to play with him, they are attacking him. Hurt.
Etherloch snaps his powerful jaws together twice. They are quiet.
He feels the warm red, dripping from his jaws. He feels happy.
They were just pigs. That's why they didn't understand me.

CHAPTER FIVE: WE REMEMBER THEM

((This chapter is told from a (relatively primitive, considering his bestial mind) first-person perspective, all happening through the eyes of good ol' Etherloch))

They've stolen my flesh. I can smell them.
The pain burns. I must get it back. They are a threat. Must reassemble..
Pigs.. The scent is growing stronger. I hunger. I must reclaim my flesh. Then I will feast. I see one of the thieves. I must trick them.
"Have you seen Doug?" I mimic..
They stopped. I am going nearer. They have me. I have them.
I blow my disguise, I jump at them. I catch another scent. I see the invisible man.
I must re-assemble. I hunt them into a small forest, in the middle of the pig stone-land.
They hurt me. I hurt them. Th-.. Pain.
I am out of the box. I am the last of me left. I must feast. A pig is bleeding. I smell something nutritious in it's blood.
I feast on the blood that the pig left behind. The pigs are hurting eachother. I..
I am changing. The blood is changing me. I must proceed with growing. I lower myself into the liquids. I stay there.
I grow.

The blood has left me stronger than before. I have the pig's scent. I will feast on it's body.
