Dora Milagro Santana was never really "ladylike." She was as strong as the boys were. She liked watching lucha libre matches on TV. The idea that someone would dress up in crazy outfits just to fight fascinated her. But her relatively normal childhood in relatively safe Veracruz could be cut short by strange things. One night, on the eve of her sixteenth birthday, she found a small artifact buried in her backyard and decided to pick it up, only to get strange visions about Mexico needing a savior, a symbol of hope in chaotic times. As she reeled from threm, she discovered that she was given enormous, even superhuman, strength. She knew the visions were referring to all the superhuman stuff going on, and wisely decided to hide her power until she was ready.
