Background

After an explosion leveled multiple city blocks, a four year old Scott was found in the center of the massive crater, the only one alive for miles. The event was quickly covered up and explained to be the work of terrorists. Subsequently, he was immediately sent off by the U.S. government to better harness his powers and to protect the public, spending the next 15 years isolated from civilization, being steadily monitored until he showed promise. He was provided with everything he needed until his release, such as food, shelter and entertainment. After his containment, he was granted a full scholarship to Harvard, majoring in Molecular Biology to compliment his power set. The United States government now even pays to use him as a nuclear deterrent.

Personality

Scott is a grade-A piece of work. This may be in part to the fifteen years he spent isolated from normal civilization, or, his years of being praised for his impeccable looks and astonishing power. He's mostly known to come off as an A-hole, which makes sense considering his highly sarcastic and egocentric nature.

Powers and abilities

(Sub)Atomic manipulation

He has the ability to manipulate various particles, such as atoms. For the majority of his life, he was only aware of his ability to either cause fission or fusion upon atoms. More recently, however, he discovered another had been lying dormant. He can now manipulate Quarks, sub-atomic particles that the Protons and Neutrons inside atoms are believed to consist of. By fusing a Quark, he can now travel between dimensions, or 'simply' to extreme distances in the same universe. But, by causing a Quark to undergo fission, it releases power dwarfing that of atomic fission, or even fusion. Due to his power's escalation, there have been talks about placing restrictions upon him, and his power usage.

Superhuman strength

Scott frequents the gym, increasing the already impressive strength that results from the nature of his power. Scientists have come to the vague conclusion that his natural super-strength is mostly due to his atomic ability, similar to that of the Hulk. With his constant emission of various radiation, it has strengthened his muscular system throughout his life. His strongest bench-press, according to him, was a mid-sized sedan.

Invulnerability

Again, due to his life-long emission of waves that call the electromagnetic spectrum home, his muscles have strengthened, making him incredibly resilient. This is the most accepted explanation as to how he is able to withstand his own thermonuclear explosions.
