Gladion's Story

An Honorable Child

Born to a modest, middle-class family, Jakar was a foolhardy boy from a young age. He also had aspirations. Jakar was born to a long line of successful gladiators. Jakar knew he was destined to rise to greatness, or die just as greatly. He was trained by his father for several years, until Jakar's father died in battle. Jakar witnessed his final moments, and said, "I can only wish to die as valiantly as him." Jakar continued his training under a close friend of his father, Kilm. Kilm noticed Jakar's unnatural talent with all the weapons he was using, especially dual swords. Kilm brought Jakar along to the training grounds for professional gladiators, to show him firsthand the experience of a gladiator preparing themselves for the glory, or death, that will meet them each day. It was this day when the King of Centarkia, Andlam, was doing a surprise visit of the arena. Andlam immediately recognized Kilm, and in turn recognized Jakar. He approached and told Jakar that if he was as strong as his father, he was destined for great things in life. Jakar took this to heart and continued training even harder, so as to not disappoint the King.

Honorable Battles

Years later, Jakar was ready for his first battle. With both his parents passed, Kilm, who had retired from the arena years prior, was the only man to watch his battle. Jakar, who was going by the name Gladion, easily dispatched his opponent using his superior abilities. The audience, and even Andlam himself was astounded with his skill. Andlam visited Jakar after the battle in his chambers, and congratulated him on his victory. Andlam then offered him a chance at an arena he was starting privately. He claimed the arena was, "The absolute top-end battles that are only fought by the strongest warriors, hand-picked by the King alone". Jakar declined, saying he wanted to surpass his father's level of recognition before he left this arena. More years passed, and Jakar had long ago become the greatest warrior in the arena. He was merely fighting for his image's sake at this point, and he had become bored. One day, after visiting his parent's and Kilm's grave and reflecting on his life, Jakar went to visit the King and see if that offer for the new arena was still standing.

A Dark Hell

Preparing for his first battle in the King's new arena, Jakar was approached by Andlam. He told Jakar that these battles were far different from the battles he had spent his life fighting. Jakar would need to undergo a special procedure to ensure an even playing field with all the other gladiators. Jakar accepted, not seeing the hell he would go through. He underwent pure torture, and experimentation on his body. The experiments led to him gaining an extremely hardened body and organs, like all other gladiators, to ensure battles would last long enough for true entertainment. He then had an unknown object implanted directly into his chest, enabling him to teleport at will. The object also gave the control of telekinetic forces in his immediate vicinity. Jakar would continue enduring enduring these procedures and testings for days on end. When they finally ended, Jakar was given his first battle, against one of the King's elite guards.
The battle was heavily one-sided, in the guard's favor, for a while. Jakar noticed how the guard was acting savage, as if he was not fighting for the love of the combat. He managed to land a lucky hit, evening the odds enough for Jakar to kill his opponent swiftly. After the battle, Jakar thought to himself how this is not what was expecting when he signed up for this new arena. He eventually ran into like-minded individuals, who he quickly befriended. They soon became like brothers to each other, a bright light during a dark time for all of them. With the thought of his brothers in his mind, Jakar would continue fighting in the hellish arena.

The Last Straw

Further years passed, at which point Jakar had stopped counting how many, and Jakar had rose to the top echelon of warriors in the Arena. Many of his brothers had fallen, and their grotesque deaths had weighed heavily on his mind. They were not honorable deaths; they were begging for the pain to stop, only for it to continue. They would finally die, with tears colored with their blood dried on their faces. Jakar and his last 3 brothers had reached their breaking point, and confronted Andlam in his throne room. They demanded to know what was happening to themselves with these experiments, and the idea of torturing their opponents, not killing them honorably. Andlam was outraged by this confrontation, and ordered his guards to deal with them. Jakar resisted, but one of his brothers was murdered on the spot. Upon seeing this, Jakar's mind finally snapped, and he fell to his knees. He and his brothers were dragged out of the palace and thrown to the ground. Jakar's fallen brother was just tossed to the ground in front of them. Jakar swore to his last two brothers that they will end this monstrosity of an arena.

His Blackened Honor

After several years of planning, Jakar was ready to enact his plan of rebellion. Jakar's last two brothers had died in the prior years, but he would not forget any of them. The plan was enacted during his match with one of his conspirators. They stopped their fight, and immediately went to the gates to free their comrades. They all gathered around Jakar as he announced his intentions to end Andlam's reign, in the name of his fallen brothers. Andlam ordered the beheading of all of the traitors, but his guards were quickly overpowered by the number of warriors. Andlam retreated, declaring he would personally end Jakar's life himself one day. Jakar responded, "Jakar died when the last of his brothers stopped breathing. I am only a warrior now. A warrior named Gladion".
Throughout the next few years, a bloody war was fought. The King and and his supporters, against Gladion and his fellow warriors and supporters. Many lives, warrior and citizen alike, were lost in the battles ensued. Many close calls taught Gladion to try different, less honorable tactics, to to kill his enemies. Eventually, Gladion and his warriors managed to ambush Andlam in the middle of his move to a new base. Andlam was quickly overpowered by Gladion, and begged to be spared. Gladion was spurred by his allies to torture him, just as they were all those years. However, as Gladion was going to begin, in the back of his mind, he remembered his early years, being taught by his father, to never be unhonorable in battle. This led to Gladion simply beheading him on the spot, much to the dismay of the others. Gladion simply said, "I fought for the honor of our fallen. As such, I had to end it honorably."

His Honorable Majesty

In short time, a new monarchy was formed, with Gladion made King. His first order was the destruction of the dark arena he and all the other warriors spent countless years in. Much deserved peace was attained, with the building of a new arena. It was dedicated to his brothers, and all of the fallen warriors from the war. Gladion fought in it's inaugural match, and unsurprising to anyone, won. He then announced his retirement from the arena, so he could focus on leading his people to new prosperity, which he did. New advancements in weapon-and-armor smithing were made to ensure more over the top battles, ending with honorable deaths, as they always should be. But eventually, Gladion began to grow bored with his lifestyle, wishing to feel the true rush of glorious and honorable battle again. He knew he would not find it on Centarkia anymore, so he declared he was stepping down from the throne.

Gladion had a shuttle prepared for him to travel to a new planet. He hoped he would new experiences and battle on this new planet he arrive at. Gladion left command of the planet to his advisors, who were all his remaining commanders during the war. They promised the planet will continue to prosper in his absence, and Gladion promised to contact them regularly. Finally, to the roars and cheers of his people, Gladion took off in his shuttle. He left Centarkia, looking for adventure and glorious battle. It was years later, that he finally landed on Earth.

Arrival on Earth

Gladion, after years of travel in his shuttle, had finally landed on Earth. Unaware of what planet he was on, he learned he landed in a desert, near what he would later come to learn was Millennium City. After he got his bearings, he traveled to the city, hoping to learn more of the planet. He arrived in Westside, and immediately saw a young lady being approached by a suspicious man, dressed in black and white, with face paint. When the man began to pull a weapon from his coat, Gladion approached to speak to him. Asking the man what he was doing, the man became startled at the size of him. The woman noticed the suspicious man and immediately fled. In anger, the man pointed his weapon, a small knife, at Gladion. Seeing the weapon, Gladion responded in turn. He was excited, believing he had found a great world for battle. However, upon seeing Gladion's swords, the man thought he was a hero, and immediately ran. Gladion was angered by this, and began chasing him. The man managed to reach other people dressed like him, and got them to join him against Gladion. Gladion noticed and said that he would gladly fight them each, but only after he had defeated the first man who challenged him. The men ignored him, and all charged at him at the same time. Surprised by this, Gladion was caught off guard, and took a blow to his side. Angered by their tactics, he was reminded of his battles during the war for his planet. Gladion went silent, and immediately dispatched the men, killing them swiftly. Coming back to his senses, he saw his work, and the reactions of the people who came up to see. Thinking they were here to challenge him as well, Gladion brandished his swords. The people all ran, screaming.

Armed and Confused

Confused, Gladion continued walking down Westside. While walking, he saw more of the same thing he went through when he first arrived, and began to question whether this planet was what he actually thought it was. Then, a group of police vehicles approached him. The officers' exited their vehicles, with their weapons drawn. They asked if he was the one responsible for the mass of dead bodies found throughout the area. Gladion said he was, claiming they challenged them, and he responded in kind. He also said they died honorably, even though they would tend to attack all at once, instead of one-on-one. The police officers told him to drop his weapons and come quietly. Gladion said he would never drop his swords, and that they were acting dishonorably. The police began opening fire on him, and Gladion surprised by this, took some shots. However, they did no visible damage to his hardened skin. Shocked by their actions, Gladion began to approach them angrily. It was then he was approached by a large, silver skinned warrior. This warrior introduced himself as Ironclad.

The Honorable Hero

Ironclad approached Gladion, and told him to halt. Upon looking at him, Gladion began to smirk, thinking he had finally found a true warrior. Gladion challenged Ironclad, and Ironclad, looking at the worried officers, agreed on the condition that it was away from the city. After traveling back to the spot Gladion landed at, Gladion began to charge at Ironclad. The battle was long, and well-fought, but it ended with Gladion's loss. Shocked, but satisfied, Gladion thanked Ironclad for the battle. As he prepared himself for his honorable death, Ironclad simply picked him up. Gladion was enraged, and demanded to know why he was denied his honorable death. Ironclad explained that killing is not tolerated on this planet. Gladion was confused. He wondered how a planet that had so many people so quick to fight, could possibly abhor killing. Ironclad asked Gladion where he came from. Gladion explained his story, deciding to leave out the details of the events that led up to the war. Ironclad, beginning to understand Gladion's experiences, told Gladion to follow him. While traveling, Ironclad asked Gladion for his name, and Gladion hesitantly told him it was Jakar. Eventually, Gladion and Ironclad arrived at Millenium City and the HQ of The Champions. Inside, Ironclad introduced Gladion to Defender, and explained Gladion's story to him. Defender smiled and brought Gladion to a seperate room, and began teaching him the situation on Earth. It was from here on, that Gladion would grow to become one of the planet's greatest warriors, and heroes.

Powers, Skills, and Attributes

Powers

Hardened Skin - After the experimentation done to him, Gladion gained HARDENED SKIN AND ORGANS, preventing him from receiving fatal injuries.

Teleportation - During the experiments, a mysterious alien object was implanted into Gladion, right in-between his ribs. This object gave Gladion the ability to TELEPORT at will. It took time to get used to though, as he would throw up immediately after teleportation at first.

Telekinetic Force Manipulation - The mysterious object in Gladion's chest gives him the ability to MANIPULATE TELEKINETIC FORCES in his immediate vicinity. This also allows him to build up kinetic energy in his legs, enabling him to jump extreme heights.

Skills

Bladed Weapon Mastery - Trained from a young age, Gladion was shown to be ADEPT WITH ALL FORMS OF BLADED WEAPONRY, especially his dual swords. These skills were only hardened by the countless decades of gladiatorial combat. He was eventually recognized as the greatest swordsman of his planet.

Expert Tactician - During the war on Centarkia, Gladion was leading all of his forces in a uphill battle. He learned how to divide forces, and put certain men with certain skills in the area where they would be best suited. He was praised for his SKILLS IN STRATEGY. He also learned GUERRILLA WARFARE, though those actions were much to his dismay. He would rather not use those tactics if he can help it.

Attributes

High Stamina - Gladion didn't reach his rank of ability by being tired out a few moments into his battles. Gladion has shown superhuman stamina and endurance. His battle with Ironclad lasted nearly four whole hours straight. Gladion once even went a whole week without water or food during the war on his planet.

Very Honorable - Gladion was raised from a young age, to be honorable above all else. In a fight, he will never resort to cheap tactics, nor will he accept an enemy using them. He also believed that killing your foe after a well fought battle, was one of the greatest honors you could give them. He was eventually taught by Defender and Ironclad that killing is not tolerated on Earth. Gladion accepted this, but knew that if it must be done to protect those close to him, he would not hesitate to end the enemy before him.

Gear and Equipment

Gear

Weapon - Gladion is never seen without his trusty DUAL SWORDS, forged from his father's armor after he fell in battle. Made from some of the strongest steel in Centarkia, they will never break. He maintains them himself.

Armor - Gladion's trademark HELMET is made from the armor of the opponents he killed during his first battles. He maintains it himself. He got his GLOVES as a gift from his seven brothers'. He has each of their names engraved on them.

Relationships

Lover

Gladion is currently in an open relationship.

Friends/Allies

Gladion's Brothers (Deceased) - The seven warriors Gladion met during his exploits in the King's hellish arena. They relied on each other, and were rarely seen apart from one another. Before one of Gladion's more dangerous battles, he was gifted a pauldron and a pair of gloves from them. They each had their own pair as well, and engraved on the gloves were the names of the other seven. They all died in the arena, and in their honor, a new arena was built after Gladion became King. They are buried underneath the arena's field.

Kilm (Deceased) - Kilm was Gladion's mentor after his father fell in battle. Kilm became a second father to Gladion, caring for him, and teaching him how to further his prowess in battle. He gave Gladion his two swords, telling him he reforged them from the armor Gladion's father wore the day he died in the arena. He eventually retired from battle, passing away peacefully in his sleep. He is buried next to his Gladion's parents.

Ironclad - Ironclad was the first hero to meet Gladion when he arrived on Earth. He was also the first person Gladion ever lost to. He taught Gladion to avoid killing as much as possible, much to Gladion's dismay at first. Now, Ironclad and Gladion are well-versed with each other. They even spar on rare occasion. Ironclad still wins everytime.

Enemies

The Proletarian (Current Nemesis)

General Perception

When Gladion first arrived on Earth, he left a trail of the dead bodies of thugs he killed in his wake, scaring the populace. Eventually Ironclad found him, and taught him that killing is abhorred on Earth. It took some time, but the citizens of Millennium City have learned to accept him as one of it's great heroes after his efforts during the Qularr Invasion. Though they still seem to get nervous when they meet him up close.
