Darrell Trevors was born in the crime-ridden slums of Millennium City, more specifically the low-income neighborhood known as The Grove. This was the side of Millennium City that the mayor and politicians often neglected and ignored due to it not representing the pristine image they associated with Millennium City following the destruction of Detroit back in 1992. Darrell only wanted to use his self-taught computer programming skills to expose these injustices and fight against corruption by working with a supposed hacktivist group known as eLite_Circuit with his friend, Russell Lyman. But little did Darrell realize that eLite_Circuit was actually an underground cyber-terrorist group planning to use his R4gn%r0k malware program to shut down SOCRATES and take control of Millennium City's infrastructure. By using a stolen computer algorithm known as the Phantom Equation, Darrell thwarted this plan and successfully shut down eLite_Circuit's entire operation, but also accidentally unleashed a data-energy virus that altered his physiology and bestowed to him an array of digital-based powers which he now uses to protect the innocent as the Virtual Vigilante known as, Glitch

Early Life

Darrell Trevors was born as the first and only child of Janice and Darren Trevors in North Detroit, Millennium City. Despite his parents' respectable professions with his mom being a registered nurse (R.N.) and his father as a skilled tradesman, the family was primarily brought up in the low-income neighborhood of The Grove, a crime-ridden slum of Millennium City that was often ignored by both the city government and Mayor Biselle. The borough eventually became the home to many of Millennium City's lower-class citizens and local street gangs such as the Maniacs and the Black Aces. This overall mistreatment and lack of empathy towards the city's less fortunate residents made Darrell come to develop a certain disdain towards Millennium City's upper-class elites, such as James Harmon of Harmon Industries. Instilling within him a sense of hard work, merit, and dedication could get you to where you wanted to be, rather than to have it handed to you.

Darrell's parents would eventually wind up getting a divorce while he was three years old and with no other male role model in his life, Janice did her best to make sure her son didn't wind up falling into the local gang(s) of misfits that largely consisted of young Black/African-American males like Darrell. As a nurse, she saw many of these same kids that were out on the streets one day would end up in the emergency room, in either critical condition or dead, from the "friends" they affiliated themselves with. It was tragedies such as this that made Janice stressed the importance of hard work, studying, and choosing your friends wisely.

While he did have his moments of freedom, Darrell's childhood was mostly uneventful, as he had led a very sheltered life with little friends and recreation outside playing video games and watching movies. His countless hours of computer time led to him developing an affinity for software development and programming, as noted by Janice, who would ultimately decided to sign Darrell up for a couple of computer classes at the local community center.

Joining eLite_Circuit

Whilst taking classes at the community center, Darrell met another student named Russell Lyman who, like him, didn't have many friends but also "knew his way around a keyboard" so his mother also pursuaded him into signing up for computer classes. A friendship quickly formed between the two boys and eventually began working on a personal side project called R4gn%r0k after they completed their lessons for the day at the center. R4gn%r0k was supposed to be a malware application that was only meant to test the young programmers' newly acquired computer skills but turned into the proof needed for Russell to begin working with an underground cyber-terrorist group known as eLite_Circuit. Russell convinced Darrell to join the group by selling him a false story of eLite_Circuit being a hacktivist group set on exposing the lies and corruption that plagues Millennium City's underbelly, which Darrell ultimately did agree to join his friend in this supposed noble cause for social reform and justice.

For months, Darrell and Russell ran alongside eLite_Circuit members Ramsey Deacon, Eugene Hawkins, and Kristen Ladner carrying out tech heists across the city. This was all being done while efforts were being made behind the scenes to turn R4gn%r0k into a virus that would be used to carry out a cyber attack on Millennium City by shutting down SOCRATES and taking control of the city's entire infrastructure. The biggest heist that the group would carry out would be against a fledgling R&D company called Dynamic Innovations founded by ex-PRIMUS agents Elmer Bradley and Eric Williams, formerly known as the tech heroes known as Golden Gizmo and The Machinist. Apparently, Russell got intel that Dynamic Innovations secured a shipment containing possible energy weaponry and gadgets that could help "sway" public opinion in their favor against increased production and implementation of meta-tech in the city.

Discovering the Phantom Equation

On the night in which the break-in at Dynamic Innovations was attempted things went smoothly in the beginning with eLite_Circuit managing to raid the company's personal databases and datamine everything from emails and order shipments to stock reports/records of incoming products. But things did eventually go south when a silent alarm was tripped and alerted the building's security about the group's presence inside. They quickly made a getaway but not before Darrell downloads a secret project he finds deep within one of the office's computers titled, "Phantom Equation", to a thumb-drive and makes a run for it, but winds up tripping and losing the mask he wore in the process. He quickly recovered by Russell who proceeded to help shield Darrell's face from any security cameras and hightail it back to the group's hideout known as the "Hackerspace."

The group celebrates their victory and close encounter with law enforcement with some comradery at the hackerspace. After a long night of partying, mostly everyone was passed out asleep except for Darrell who had been investigating the Phantom Equation and trying to decipher its odd coding sequence. He's then discovered by Russell who then questions him about the program, believing it to be another side project he had picked up during his tenure with eLite_Circuit. While Darrell clarifies on what the Phantom Equation is and where he got it, he was visibly frustrated with trying to figure out its origins and why was it hidden away on one of Dynamic Innovations' computers. Realizing his friend's growing frustration, Russell leads Darrell away from his laptop in order to get some sleep and come back to the Equation another time.

Learning the Truth

In between nightly operations to break into different tech facilities throughout the city and expose whatever secret projects they had been working on, Darrell worked endlessly to figure out the ominous Phantom Equation; intrigued by what it was, why had it been created, and what was it's overall purpose. As the days went by, Darrell did eventually learn why it was called the Phantom Equation and it was because not only was it a complex computer algorithm, but it was also possessed an enigmatic coding sequence that consisted of "invisible numbers" that, despite being absent, still allowed the program to run, but on what type of software, Darrell didn't know exactly. So he spent day and night, running different numeric variables and mathematical equations in order to finally solve the bizarre application. At some point in time, Darrell eventually caught wind of eLite_Circuit's entire plan, learning via overhearing a conversation, between Eugene and Kristen of all people, that Russell and Ramsey had come close to retrofitting Darrell's malware program, R4gn%r0k and after running several simulations, they found that it might just have a chance to shut down SOCRATES and then everyone from politicians to policymakers would have to answer to eLite_Circuit once Millennium City's infrastructure was in their control. Realizing that he had been lied to by whom he thought was his best friend and all this time he had been working for an underground cyber-terrorist group, Darrell took it upon himself to single-handedly stop eLite_Circuit before it was too late.

Realizing that he didn't have the time to craft an anti-virus program that could counteract R4gn%r0k if Russell and Ramsey did come close to repurposing it, Darrell set his sights on some reconfiguration of his own. He theorized that if he could solve the Phantom Equation in due time, he could possibly turn it into a "Class-5 "super virus" and shut down eLite_Circuit's main server before they even had a chance to deploy R4gn%r0k into the city's power grid. In the meantime, Darrell had to take it upon himself to dwindle eLite_Circuit's resources by secretly sabotaging the group's hidden pirate servers kept in hackerspaces that were set up in different boroughs throughout the city. This would keep them occupied with that whole ordeal while Darrell continued to work tirelessly to repurpose the Phantom Equation into an anti-virus and shut down eLite_Circuit's plans of a city-wide takeover before it could officially begin.

Unleashing the Phantom Equation

Darrell's effort proved fruitful as eLite_Circuit's growing concerns regarding the destruction of their hackerspaces led to them becoming disjointed, unfocused, and distracted; believing a rival hacker group known as HaDoCk was responsible for the loss of their pirate servers. The stolen data they had spend the last 6-to-8 months collecting and storing at these hackerspaces were all gone, which meant an hyper-attentive focus on readying R4gn%r0k for deployment. Luckily for Darrell this came at or around the same time as he finally solved the missing, "invisible" numbers of the Phantom Equation and successfully turned it into the anti-virus he needed to counter R4gn%r0k, all he needed now was to upload it to eLite_Circuit's main server that was stored in a derelict warehouse near the Millennium City docks. All was going well, until Darrell was caught in the act of sabotaging the main server by Russell who came backed up by the rest of eLite_Circuit. Russell had suspected that it was only a matter of time before HaDoCk would find out about their main server so he was quick to have the rest of the team hightail it to the warehouse to make sure everything was still intact. Darrell attempted to lie and say that he was making sure everything was in order with said server, but Russell saw right through his lie and knew that he had been the one destroying their hackerspaces across the city. To which Darrell only responded that he knew what they were up to and he wasn't for it and that it wasn't what he "signed up for"; thinking that eLite_Circuit were the good guys, but they had been lying to him the entire time, including Russell, the person he thought of like the brother he never had.

A fight broke out between the two as Ramsey, Eugene, and Kristen tried to stop the Phantom Equation anti-virus from uploading and destroying their server altogether, but it all came too little, too late as the upload reached 100% and forced the server to go into overdrive and begin to go haywire. Which all amounted in a violent explosion occurring that rocked the warehouse to its core and sending out a wave of energy into the room that knocked everyone unconscious. Darrell slipped in and out consciousness a few short moments after the server's detonation, but for the moments that he could recall, he saw his former "friends" pick themselves off the ground with what looked like electricity crackling off their forms before he passed out again. This time when Darrell regained consciousness, he was in a laboratory and as it turned out, he had been recovered by Elmer Bradley and Eric Williams of Dynamic Innovations. Turned out one of their security cameras did catch a quick glimpse of his face during eLite_Circuit's botched break-in at their facility but they mainly interrogated Darrell about the Phantom Equation, why he took it, and what it really was.

Archetype Button Impulse.png

Birth_of_a_Hero.exe

The Phantom Equation was a complex algorithm as Darrell theorized created by the lowbie cyberkinetic villain known as, Cybercide. He created it as an extension of his Cybercide Derivative, a serum that granted him his technopathic abilities. The Phantom Equation was supposed to be a hybridization of science and, what Cybercide described as, "the weird" so that it could be uploaded into his hardware and expand his already vast arsenal of abilities. Since the Phantom Equation was never meant for integration with anything that wasn't Cybercide's elaborate hardware, the mass surge of "virtual energy" overwhelmed the server Darrell uploaded it to, resulting in the explosion that gave him his powers. Eli and Eric had been trying to locate eLite_Circuit for months with no avail, it was only through Darrell's efforts in shutting down their server farms and hackerspaces that the two scientists were able to finally get a ping on them.

Now there were bigger problems at stake as Ramsey, Eugene, and Kristen took to the streets as Firewall, Trojan, and Uplink respectively and began carrying out more heinous crimes throughout the city possessing what appeared to be different variations of digital-based powers. Their newfound abilities allowed them to no longer hide behind keyboards in order to enact their plans of a city-wide takeover and since Darrell was the one who unleashed the virus that gave them their powers, he was going to be the one to stop them and bring them back to Dynamic Innovations for further study and possible curing of their meta-abilities. Darrell begrudgingly agreed to working with Dynamic Innovations in apprehending his former allies, though a thought would continue to loom in the back of his head as to whatever happened to Russell as so far he was nowhere to be accounted for despite being present at the event that gave them their powers. Either way, Darrell dedicated the next several months training and learning how to use his own digital powers.

With each passing day, the Millennium City News reported on another recent attack orchestrated by either Firewall, Trojan, or Uplink. It had appeared that they grew confident enough in their abilities to where they could handle themselves individually rather than working as a team during most of their heists and escapades. It was time for Darrell to make his debut as he had felt that not only was he ready to finally take down eLite_Circuit once but he was the one at fault for creating these monsters in the first place and he was going to be the one that put them away for good. Initially throwing together a makeshift costume and, with the help of Eric, designing a high-tech mask that would not only disguise his face and voice, but could also project his current facial expression in the form of emoticons on it's visor, Darrell had all that was needed to become Millennium City's Virtual Vigilante and from that day forward, Darrell became known to the world as...

Quantum League Horizontal Logo.png
Primus QLCoreTeam.jpg

In May 2020, Glitch joined the Quantum League, a super-group dedicated to investigating inter-dimensional and even supernatural threats across the planet. Glitch's induction into the group happened right on the heels of him finally apprehending one member of eLite_Circuit, Firewall, and still actively pursuing Trojan and Uplink. The Quantum League was funded by by a private, research-oriented organization named Trent Industries whose development of a prototype device that could open inter-dimensional rifts in a closed space resulted in accidental tears in space-time occurring across the globe, making this world vulnerable to extra-dimensional wanderers and threats from planes still unknown to mankind. Michael Trent, the founder of Trent Industries sought out the assistance of heroes who could combat these threats before they grew too out of control for anyone to stop.

It was during this time with Quantum League that Glitch began to expand his connections with the larger hero community and grew a sense of comradery with team members, Chameleon, Captain Mockery, Coyote, Flashpoint, Overclock, Reclusa, and Sister Salem. Of these relationships, Darrell found himself becoming best friends with Coyote, developing a friendly-rivalry with Overclock, a mentor/apprentice-like relationship with Reclusa, an older-brother/younger-sister dynamic with Flashpoint, and possible love interests in both Chameleon and Sister Salem.

Search and Rescue: Target - Reclusa
Glitch's first mission ever with Quantum League consisted of a rescue mission that saw him and other Quantum Leaguers retrieving Reclusa from another dimension she had been trapped in for some time. But the mission where Glitch had a significant involvement in was one involving a cult that was tormenting the team's speedster, Vortex by digging up remnants of his past before he was a speedster and when he was a Danger Ranger, a super-sentai-esque team where each member derived their abilities from a special power stone that would grant them their superhuman abilities. This cult successfully hunted down and slaughtered the former Danger Ranger members, one of whom was even Vortex's ex-boyfriend at the time. This case was significant because it saw Glitch become ensorcelled by magic for the first time and was forced to fight against his allies before eventually being freed from the cult's control. It was in the months after these series of events that Darrell would become close with Anna Trent a.k.a Reclusa as well as develop a budding crush and possible romance with Chanelle Perry a.k.a Chameleon. While attempts were made to start a relationship with the team commander, Anna regretfully informed Darrell that Chanelle's feelings for him were misguided as she really only saw traces of an ex-boyfriend she lost during the years before she even became Chameleon. While it hurt to learn this truth, Darrell came to terms with this unfortunate revelation and seized his pursuit of Chanelle shortly thereafter, deciding to keep this strictly professional between him and her.

The Salem Saga
The second mission Glitch played a role in was the investigation of Serena Bradbury, who was the young woman that would eventually become Sister Salem. Serena's story began with a flight from East Orange, New Jersey to Millennium City, Michigan until the plane was hijacked resulting several Quantum League members being forced to respond to the event. The end result was a tragic one as Serena's latent magical abilities violently manifested resulting in the plane coming down and crashing in the outskirts of Millennium City, killing most-if-not-all of the members onboard except for Serena and the Quantum Leaguers that were present. This resulted in a series of investigations that saw Serena seeking out her family's origins with Overclock and Glitch in attendance, meeting her mother and learning about the secrets that were Serena came from lineage of witches that spanned as far back as 1692 - the same year in which the Salem Witch Trials began. While Serena struggled with anxiety and the trauma that haunted following her 'incident' with the plane crash, she eventually overcame this ordeal and proudly embraced her destiny to become Sister Salem and continued onward as an active member of the Quantum League.

Dawn of the Major League
The next major threat that reared its head for Quantum League came in the form of a mirror group that called themselves, The Major League. The Major League was an investment made by Michael Trent to create superheroes out of the weak and powerless and have them take on threats that the Quantum League wouldn't handle; this resulted in the Star-Lite Initiative which took the harvested blood of an extraterrestrial superheroine known as Jadestar and using it to create a super-serum known as Star-Lite, which was a dangerous process to undergo due to the alien blood having a high probability in killing its subjects. This didn't stop Trent though as he pressed forward with these experiments after the Quantum League refused to participate in the Star-Lite Initiative and instead turned to 200 test subjects to try the Star-Lite serum on. By the time these experiments were concluded, only 11 subjects were left and they became the dark counterparts of the Quantum League. Their names being Overclock, Diva, Tremor, Hive, Terabyte, Impact, Red Racer, Catwalk, Mister Sly, and Weaver. Major League continued to taught Quantum League all over social media, advertising themselves as being the latter's replacement and jumpstarting a tense rivalry between the two groups, but ultimately Quantum League came out on top and were able to successfully shut Major League down by exposing the corruption that was going on behind closed doors at Trent Industries with Michael Trent conducting illegal experimentation, resulting in not just his arrest by Major League's as well. In the aftermath of the events following Major League's reign of terror and torment, Darrell became close with team member, Arielle Altomare a.k.a Flashpoint. The two developed a older-brother/younger-sister relationship with Arielle constantly worrying for Darrell's health and safety as well as helping him learn how to cook and make sure he keeps a full meal in his belly. She would also regularly supply him with cooking recipes that would keep his culinary skills honed and keep him from ordering out so much.

A W0RM in Our System
In the Spring of 2022, Glitch would be nearing the end of his tenure with Quantum League. Developments would occur where Darrell would be made the newest Team Captain of Quantum League after serving time as an Officer for about a year and a half. While the pressure and responsibility would weigh on his shoulders quite heavily he try his best to lead the team as best he could, this also meant having to adopt a more serious demeanor and leave behind his more cocky and wisecracking demeanor he became known for. As all of this was going on, trouble began to brew behind the scenes without Glitch's knowledge. At this point in time, he had finally apprehended all of the rogue eLite_Circuit members in between the time he wasn't preoccupied with the duties he had with Quantum League. All the members were detained at Dynamic Innovations and were monitored 24/7 as the scientists worked endlessly to try and find a cure for their "affliction." As this was going on, Quantum League began to a rift that popped up in Millennium City, but this one was unlike the ones the team had encountered before as it appeared to have the ability to teleport. Piloting the group's personal ship, the Andromeda, Quantum League set out to investigate this strange rift where their investigation eventually led them into outer space where the rift allowed what could only be described as "cosmic space whales" to pour in from another dimension and into our universe. The team was able to lure the space whales back into the rift and use the Andromeda's onboard energy/temporal weaponry to seal the rift and put a cap on that mini-episode. But their troubles didn't end there as in the two years that Glitch served alongside other like-minded heroes that only wanted to use their powers for good, Glitch had managed to avoid questions and topics regarding origin stories and how exactly he gained his powers. Usually he kept these answers brief and vague, not wanting anyone to know too much about him and who he was, at least in his past life. But now those revelations were about to finally be told.

It all began with the mass murder of Ramsey Deacon (Firewall), Eugene Hawkins (Trojan), Kristen Ladner (Uplink), and Elmer Bradler (Golden Gizmo) along with several scientists and researchers at Dynamic Innovations. The only survivor left to tell the tale was Eric Williams a.k.a the Machinist, he stated that it all happened so fast, but the threat came in the form of a "digital ghost" that called itself: 'W0RM' and that its main objective was to "Consume the Glitch, Destroy the Virus." An incantation that it spoke repeatedly. Whatever W0RM was, it was after Glitch and the fact that it knew where to find the outstanding eLite_Circuit members and slaughter the scientists that were watching over them let Glitch know that this thing wasn't just out for blood, but it was seeking vengeance. Over the course of several weeks, Glitch and his allies in the Quantum League attempted to track down and apprehend W0RM, most of the time they arrived too late to stop the senseless killings he left in his wake. It didn't take long for Glitch to figure out though that W0RM's attacks throughout the city weren't just random, they were specifically at locations that eLite_Circuit broke into or targeted during their time attempting a city-wide takeover. Glitch had one likely suspect as to who W0RM could actually be, but he didn't want to believe it. Not until he knew for sure. Glitch's fears would soon be realized when him and Quantum League would be cornered in a warehouse, the same warehouse where Glitch's story initially began. W0RM proceeded to trap Glitch's team in electro-stasis traps, but left Glitch free in order to engage him in a one-on-one fight. The fight didn't last long as W0RM was quick to overwhelm Glitch with his holographic duplicates and advanced phase-shifting abilities. In the villain's monologue he delivered to Glitch, he told the hero about his commitment to his new family caused him to take his eye off the ball. That while he was able to apprehend Ramsey, Eugene, and Kristen; why didn't he think to look for him. Why didn't he save him? It was at that moment, Glitch knew who this figure was. Deciding to remove his mask and look this blue-faced demon in the eyes, Glitch was now speaking to the entity as Darrell and addressed the figure by its real name: Russell Lyman.

Darrell then finally after all this time decided to unload his secret origin to his team for the first time ever, explaining that Russell was his best friend that brought him into eLite_Circuit under the guise that it was a hacktivist group set on changing the world by exposing the lies and corruption that went on beneath the noses of Millennium City residents. But little did Darrell realize that Russell, all that time, had been lying to him. eLite_Circuit wasn't a hacktivist group but a cyber-terrorist organization that wanted to takeover the city by disabling SOCRATES and gaining control over the city's infrastructure. They were going to do so by retrofitting a virus that Darrell and Russell created together as a side project in their local community center where they took computer programming classes. Darrell managed to stop this plan from ever being executed by uploading a type of malware into eLite_Circuit's main network server but this wasn't just any virus, it was something...otherworldly. The server exploded and unleashed a wave of energy that altered the physiologies of everyone that was present in the same warehouse they were all occupying at that very moment. That energy wave was what gave Darrell his powers but also created his particular rogues gallery, the deal was that he was apprehend all of them and hand them over to the researchers at Dynamic Innovations as the algorithm Darrell used to overload the server was stolen from their computer archives. All this time, Darrell believed Russell to have been unaffected by the explosion and went on to live a normal life elsewhere. That was when Russell interrupted Darrell and proceeded to explain that he was very much affected by the Phantom Equation. It broke his body down atom-by-atom and effectively digitized him into cyber-space where he was trapped for years. His mind became scrambled until he finally found a way out and caught up all the things he missed in the last couple of years like Darrell becoming Glitch, joining a super-team, apprehending their former friends who also got similar powers to him, and when this was all said-and-done, Darrell just moved on. Never thought on trying to look for him or anything, he proceeded to build healthy, normal relationships with other people while he, Russell, continued to rot away in cyber-space.

Initially, all Russell wanted to do was kill Glitch as he found himself repeating the phrase: "CONSUME THE GLITCH, DESTROY THE VIRUS!" he didn't know why or what it was, but he felt the urge there was a bigger threat out there and that he knew Darrell didn't have the power or will needed to stop what was coming. Of course, this led Darrell to asking about what did Russell mean by "destroy the virus" to which Russell replied, "I'd like to think of him as something like you but more twisted and malicious. I would say he's something of the inverse of everything Glitch embodies." The pronoun game that Russell was playing clearly implied that "Virus" was a person or an entity not unlike what Russell had become. Russell doubled down by stating that he killed their former friends so that he could drain them of their digital energy, absorb their power so that he could stop the reckoning that would soon be upon them, including him (Darrell). With that, Darrell knew where Russell was going with this as his ex-friend rushed him and attempted to tackle him so that he could absorb Darrell's powers too, but Chameleon managed to use a gadget in her utility belt to counteract the effects of the stasis trap her and the rest of her team were held in and where able to quickly help defeat W0RM. Russell, again, declared that Darrell couldn't stop him and it's only a matter of time. It was time for Darrell to pay the piper and face his sins. Russell that teleported away.

Epilogue
In the aftermath of this entire event, Darrell became visibly distraught with nowhere left to turn to. By this point in time, Overclock, Flashpoint, Vortex, Reclusa, and other original Quantum League members had departed from the group to either retire from the hero life completely or live out the rest of their hero careers elsewhere. Without his support net, Darrell shut down completely and went into a deep depression. Now he had felt like he had truly lost everything, eLite_Circuit was officially dead, slaughtered by someone he used to call his best friend and now that friend not only has become a supervillain in his own right, but despises him for not saving him or trying to find him. Now his mind has been corrupted and twisted by the massive ball of yarn that is the World Wide Web. While efforts were made to console Darrell, it all became too much and Darrell stepped down from leadership and departed from Quantum League as a whole. Deciding that it was better that he focused on his own mental health and get himself in a better place mentally before stepping back out to tackle big threats with his team again. This, of course, left an aching feeling in his heart as he was about to finally officialize things with Sister Salem and think about asking her to be his girlfriend, but after everything he's been through he just couldn't. He had finally move past the skeletons he thought he had buried deep away in the back of his closet, only for them to come rushing back out like a bullet train. With that, Darrell left a departing statement for Quantum League find on their computers aboard the Andromeda and left without saying a word to anyone.

Multiversal Crisis

In the mid-late-to-early summer of 2022, Darrell began to work solo once more and return back to basics as street-level hero once more. Eventually, he was contacted by his surrogate- sister, Arielle Altomore a.k.a Flashpoint who had just moved to a new residence on the west coast in California called, Victoria City. Victoria City was the home a generational super-team known as the Victory Guard and in her time since moving there, she found herself working alongside the latest incarnation of the Victory Guard super-group. Unfortunately, Arielle contacting Darrell wasn't to celebrate any good news she had received and wanted to share, but instead to warn him about an extra-dimensional threat that had since reared its head. Arielle had wanted to warn him about the emergence of evil variants of her new super-group, Victory Guard, that had popped up in Victoria City, but more importantly they had been working alongside an evil versions of Chameleon and Sister Salem.

Darrell took it upon himself to temporarily relocate to California and help his pseudo-sister and her team combat this evil Victory Guard, especially since he had some experience in dealing with extra-dimensional threats. Meeting with Victory Guard's leader, Bowman along with the rest of the team that consisted of Arc Tempest, another ex-Quantum Leaguer possessing electrokinetic abilities, Communa, a psionic, Flashpoint, and Spoilsport, the team's shapeshifter. Glitch worked with Victory Guard to help coordinate an attack to help stop whatever plan these evil doppelgangers sought to accomplish. As the group would eventually find out, the evil variants of Chameleon and Sister Salem sought to execute a world merge between their universe and this one by using a device known as the Wave Modulator, a gadget used by Doctor Seismic, an old Victory Guard adversary that was stored in the group's base of operations following his eventual defeat.

This confrontation all came to ahead at a warehouse not far from Victory Guard's base in the outskirts of Victoria City where the world merge ritual would be executed. Victory Guard fought valiantly with each member subsequently killing their respective evil counterpart, with Glitch killing Chameleon with a holo-projection of a giant fist that knocked her back and impaled her on the trunk of an uprooted tree. Glitch's first, albeit unintentional, kill. The world merge was successfully averted with the death of Sister Salem who was reduced to a pile of ashes by Flashpoint who, in response to the massive extra-dimensional rift that Salem opened above Victoria City, mysteriously transformed into a massive ruby-scaled dragon and scorched her to death with her fire breath. While the crisis was averted, Arielle was now, seemingly stuck, in the form of dragon with no explanation as for why and how. At the conclusion of this event, Darrell managed to walk away with a souvenir in the form of a charred, nonoperational Wave Modulator that was damaged by Flashpoint's fire breath, with the next major case being the investigation of Arielle how to return her back to her human form once more.

"Ayyyyeee!"
Darrell Trevors is a relatively handsome young man in his early-twenties, standing at 5'11" and weighing about 160 lbs. Having a rather average build, Darrell is particularly fit for someone who lacks a regular workout routine and healthy diet — though it has been implied that years of being a picky eater has led to him consuming far less foodstuffs containing high amounts fats and sugars. While he isn't the most extroverted person some might cross paths with, Darrell seems to have a calming aura about him that allows those who choose to talk to him feel at peace and maintain a tranquil emotional state. Originally, Darrell had a close-cut hairstyle that he decided to let grow out and be fashioned into a more curly, spiky-topped style within the last year. In the time, he's also grown out some facial hair as well, in the form of a soul patch that sits perfecting at the center cleft of his chin. Darrell's sense of style has also changed somewhat in the time since becoming a superhero and joining up with the Quantum League. Where he originally wore graphic t-shirts and jeans, he's swapped out for more "dress casual" attire that will consist of flannel shirts with rolled sleeves and jeans or button-up shirts with khakis, along with some Timberland boots or an ordinary pair of sneakers. Comfort is nothing but utmost importance to Darrell, as he enjoys the feeling of loose-fitting clothes and nothing that limits or restricts his movements in any way, shape, or form.

"Glitch, ready for action!"

As Glitch, Darrell's attire has seen some design overhauls within the last year or two of becoming a hero. Originally, Darrell's "vigilante/homemade" costume when he was out as Glitch consisted of a blue jacket with the sleeves rolled up, a gray hoodie with a power emblem on the chest, black cargo pants tucked into brown combat boots, and a mask of his own design that was known to project emoticons that reflected his current facial expression behind it. This was later swapped out for an upgraded variant that had a more "cyberpunk" influence to it after he joined and became an officer in the Quantum League. This upgrade saw Darrell replace the blue jacket for a trench coat that was primarily blue, with green, gray, and green accents. Beneath it, Darrell wore a tactical suit that was outfitted with ballistic and flame-resistant material to protect Darrell from the more conventional weapons that could be found among the gangs in Millennium City. The combat boots would also be replaced with metallic boots that used Gadroon anti-gravity technology that would allow him to slide across the floor with the slightest push, this particular invention would come to be recognized as the Velociskates. This suit is also remembered for its inclusion of a wrist computer that allowed Darrell to constantly have the internet at his fingertips to hack objects remotely, listen to music, search for active crimes in progress, etc.

For a short period, Darrell joined up with a Vibora Bay resistance group by the name of OUTBreak and his outfit temporarily changed to a yellow leather jacket, beige khaki pants with red sneakers, and backwards-fitting baseball hat, rather than his signature hood. His mask would also see a color change from its usual orange visor to a green one instead. The latest revision to Glitch's costume fits the classic spandex superhero aesthetic. A form-fitting bodysuit with a blue, orange, green, black, and gray color scheme. The boots now have been replaced for a pair of custom-made sneakers that fit the costume's color palette but still reuse the anti-grav technology from the previous suit.

Darrell was a very introverted kid growing up as he was an only child and lacked very few friends to hang out which led to him developing very poor social skills. Spending the majority of his time playing video games and browsing the internet did more harm then good as he grow to become a very shy and timid person. By the time he graduated high school, however, he overcame this limitation more-and-more by the time he got his first job in customer service where he had to interact with people on a daily basis. Still incredibly shy, Darrell seems to exert a lot more energy when he's around those he considers friends where he will become a lot more talkative then usual and open to cracking jokes whenever he can. Darrell is perceived by most as a kind soul with the swagger of a gentleman. Most find themselves gravitating toward him purely due to his down-to-earth demeanor and ability to remain levelheaded in times of extreme stress or turmoil. His affinity for computers and software development has led to Darrell becoming far more analytical than the average person, always preparing for whats to come ahead in the future. Occasionally, Darrell will go periods of time without talking or speaking when in a large group of people, where most would perceive this as "zoning out" is actually him carefully examining and creating a mental profile of the people he's surrounded by. Learning more about them through their words, thoughts, and actions. Ever since joining the Quantum League, Darrell's confidence has even seen a major boost as he's more willing to take part in playful banter and jokes with some of the team's more serious and stern members of the group. His ability to turn this off and get serious; focusing on the mission at hand, garners much respect from other members as well, as it showcases his sense of determination and dedication to seeing a mission through to end.

Normally, there would be a tonal shift in the personality a hero displays in-or-out of costume, but for Darrell there doesn't seem to be that much of a difference. As Glitch, Darrell maintains the confident and playful banter with his friends as much as he can, but when surrounded by new faces he tries to adopt a more distant and cold "vigilante" personality. The hooded masked figure with an inhuman, modulated voice that no one can get a read on due to his costume concealing every inch of his person. In the field, Glitch fights like every super-villain encounter will be his last and when his team is up against a threat they show no signs of defeating, he isn't afraid of resorting to retreat tactics and fighting the fight another day. Darrell's morals as a superhero is to always try and save as many people as he can if its possible, but despite his heroic alignment, he also isn't afraid that darker methods or alternatives might need to be taken into consideration depending on the threat at hand. As Glitch, Darrell becomes very goal-oriented and sees to that a threat must be stopped by whatever means necessary and this thought process was birthed from his time as a hacktivist and lacked super-powers. All-in-all, Darrell doesn't see the world in black and white all the time and sometimes like to look at things from a gray perspective as leaning heavily into the "good and/or bad" can lead to the enemy taking advantage of you and your moment of weakness to get the drop on you or anyone else. This is a side of Darrell that he secretly despises and hopes he doesn't have to reveal it to his friends as he knows it will lead to some form of civil unrest amongst his team's leadership and members alike.

As Glitch, Darrell always seems to display this exuberant sense of bravery and righteousness thats balanced with a playful and quick-witted sense of humor. This oftentimes leads to him making a variety of wise-cracks in battle or during some tense situations, but his ability to read a room and know when its time to get serious speaks volumes on the social skills he once lacked during his youth. Always viewed as the shy and quiet kid with no friends, Darrell longed for a chance or an opportunity to "rewrite" himself as someone else who wasn't shy and timid nearly all the time, as Glitch he takes full advantage of this because of two things: The mask and new people he's come to meet ever since he became a superhero. In the time sense graduating high school and moving further into Millennium City to start attending university, Darrell has adopted this charming demeanor that makes him nearly irresistible to men and women of the like. He's no James Harmon when it comes down to looks, but his personality is magnetic both in-and-out of the suit, which finds developing a quite a few flings with certain people. The question of whether or not, Darrell chooses to act on these opportunities is purely up to debate.

Despite all of this though, Glitch is still traditionally a loner and rarely finds himself hanging out with anyone, especially his own teammates. He oftentimes feels like he brings little to a conversation or hangout and would much rather stay home than to be anyone's burden. Even though he finds a second home in the Quantum League, there is a part of him that still finds it hard to work in a time and prove to be useful. Darrell typically fears for the day when he technological expertise hits its limit and he stumbles onto something he can't figure out, fix, or hack. Lacking the typical technopathic abilities most heroes like him are shown to possess, Darrell is afraid for what is to come or happen if he encounters tech that is beyond his knowledge. However, it should also be noted that Darrell is still an optimist most of the time whenever faced with an extreme difficulty or uncertainty. His ability to maintain a positive spirit even in the worse of times is something to be applauded as it shows that he isn't quick to give up on hope and every bump in the road is merely another obstacle that will aid in the development of everyone's character and experience. Darrell's strong will, even in the face of defeat, keeps him on his feet and refusing to stay down until he's faced with his last dying breath. This comes from a place where Darrell believes that not only is he going to die trying/fighting, but he's going to die standing up for what he believed in; remembering that he went out with only the purest of intentions.

Glitch 0226.png

Power Overview:
When Darrell solved the Phantom Equation, he unleashed something that could only be described as "preternatural" - a virus composed purely of data and energy that gifted him his arsenal of digital powers. Contrary to what many might think, believe, or assume, Darrell actually is not a technopath and cannot control technology, instead he can manipulate a still-unknown wavelength of energy that allows him to replicate technical faults and glitches commonly found in video games or computer software.

Its believed, or better yet theorized, that Glitch's powers work via the manipulation of virtual particles and enthalpy in a given system or object; therefore, allowing him to mimic a variety of glitches and cheats experienced in video games in real life. This can range from noclip, the ability to pass through objects, tele-frag, the ability to teleport into the current position that being occupied by another person, lagging, a delay in frame-rate processing that makes people experience slowed/hindered movement, and "rubberbanding", a hiccup in network latency that results in subjects "bouncing" to their appropriate destination due to client/server de-synchronization.

This is just to name a few of the many glitches that Darrell can replicate with his powers alone, but they aren't limited to just them. Some of his more exhaustive powers and abilities include:

Virtual Enthalpy Manipulation:

Darrell's altered physiology through the Phantom Equation granted him the ability to warp reality through electrical anomalies created through the harnessing of interactive orange-and-white data pixels. These pixels, despite their appearance, are actually a concentrated collection of virtual photons, molecules, and atoms that can be used to interact with the world and cause disruptions to biological or technological systems via the quantum fluctuation and excitation in particles that make up the physical characteristics within an object or person. The most common application and usage of these abilities consist of Darrell's signature "Torrent Blasts" which is the firing of a continuous stream of pixelated energy at a distant target, turning himself invisible, perform short bursts of teleportation on himself, objects, and people, as well as "shift" his state of matter to one that's lighter than air in order to acquire the power of intangibility and like his teleportation, is an ability that can also be shared with others.

Darrell can also use his data pixels to shape and create holographic weaponry and force-fields, a trait likely associated with the manipulation of virtual particles and quantum fluctuation in a given space. Finally, Darrell's abilities allow him to emulate technological glitches and malfunctions seen in machinery and computer softwares, some of these capabilities include but certainly aren't limited to: rendering weapons inert, cause heavy machinery to either break down or malfunction, or even manipulate a person's overall motor-skills so that they can be used against them; oftentimes referring to this technique as a "glitch" in the individual's system.

However, despite the seemingly endless array of powers he seems to possess, Darrell's abilities come with the major downside of leaving him drained of his own internal energy if he's to go too far beyond his personal threshold. Once this happens, Darrell is forced to fall back and work out an alternate plan of attack at least until he regains his strength and energy again.

  • Databending: Darrell can use virtual energy to freely warp the "information" (molecules) inside an object in order to create or turn them into real life glitches and pixelations. This process is known as "databending" or "datamoshing" and usually puts the object "out of phase" with reality thus rendering its tangibility temporarily inert/non-existent until the glitch effect wears off naturally or when Darrell decides to lift it himself. Either way, this technique is a common ploy used by Darrell to prevent enemies from gaining access to lethal weaponry that can harm either him, bystanders, or just pose a possible collateral damage risk to the surrounding environment.
  • Digital Pirating: If he's ever in a bind where he needs a quick surge of energy, needs to replenish his energy reserves, or even heal quickly, Darrell can "pirate" the electro-static energy present in nearby electronics in order to heal himself for a time and put him back in fighting condition. This electro-static energy can come from anywhere whether its a cell phone, computer, laptop, tablet, or even a smartwatch.
  • Equipment Malfunction: Darrell can manipulate his data pixels to override the performance of any piece of equipment and cause it to malfunction. This ability isn’t always guaranteed though as varying pieces of equipment or machinery experience different effects. Most of the time, the malfunction or “glitch” that's put in place is never permanent and the equipment in question will usually revert to normal operation(s) after a few minutes or seconds. Due to this drawback, this ability is often reserved for moments where a quick escape or distraction is needed.
  • Lag Inducement: Darrall’s harnessing of virtual particles allows him to use them to create ‘disruptions' in the speed of molecules that make up a person’s entire being. Because of this, Darrell can decelerate the overall flow of a person’s molecules and simulate a “lag” effect where the individual moves at a much slower pace than normal before their original speed and momentum “snaps back” to the rate it was originally performing at.
  • Logic Bomb Creation: Darrell can set off "bombs" of tightly compacted pixels and data bursts that can explode into a wave of concussive energy upon its detonation; scrambling the senses and mental faculties of his target. This typically leaves his enemies temporarily unable to think, speak, read, or recognize familiar faces for about thirty-seconds to a minute before the effects of the "Logic Bomb" wear off.
  • Signal Boost: Should he ever need to get to a high vantage point at all, Darrell can fire a two concentrated surges of virtual energy (from both hands) directly at the ground in order to propel himself upward and send him airborne. This often done whenever he needs to cross large gaps his teleportation or trick-jumping abilities can't carry him far or long enough for. This also allows for quick and effortless movement/transportation throughout terrains that're void of many buildings or artificial structures.
  • System Crash/Override: Sometimes referred to as the “Big Bang”, Darrell, with the enough harnessing of virtual energy, can completely override and crash a technology system and render it completely useless and inert. This essentially is a naturally-made EMP-like effect that Darrell only uses in the most dire of situations and because of its extreme nature, it typically leaves him drained of energy. As a result, this power is yet another last resort/ditch effort whenever Darrell finds that he needs to end a particular conflict quickly.
  • Torrent Blasts: Darrell can shoot beams of pixelated energy from his hands, an ability he has since come to recognize as his Torrent Blasts. This is perhaps Darrell's main form of offensive attack and the effects of a torrent blast can vary depending on the intensity Darrell subconsciously decides to set it to. Not too much is known about the properties of a torrent blast, but its thought that they could really being a collection of virtual particles being fired in a continuous stream at a given target. One obserable feature to Darrell's torrent blasts is that there might be a hidden electrical quality to them as most targets, at least those that are biological in nature, are prone to audibly stutter whenever hit with a blast of this energy. Mechanical or inorganic targets though have been seen to "glitch" temporarily as if they had just been shocked with a jolt of electricity. The torrent blasts are largely concussive for the most part as well, they don't appear to generate enough, if any, heat to warrant searing a hole through objects and people or even leaving scorch marks/residue in their wake.
  • Weapons Jam: An easier and rather simplistic use of his powers, Darrell can effectively “jam” most weapons by using virtual energy to interfere with the kinetic, muzzle, and potential energies that are used when readying and aiming a firearm of any caliber.

  • AR-Camouflage: By rearranging his molecular structure, Darrell can use his data pixels as a "mirror" in order to forcibly reflect light off of him, therefore allowing him to simulate the same effects granted through AR (Augmented Reality) to achieve temporary invisibility.Through this power, Darrell can, including his clothes, blend into his surroundings; thus allowing him to sneak up on his enemies or, in some cases, flee from them.

  • Phase-Shifting: The process that Darrell recognizes as "phase-shifting" is, in reality, temporal displacement & isolation. A phenomenon where the user shifts the flow of time around either themselves, a person, object, or general area so that they will be rendered intangible to everything outside their initial (starting) temporal phase. Once this happens, a prismatic afterimages of the object or individual is mirrored back in their starting temporal phase, making it appear as though they're "flickering" or "glitching" in-and-out of reality. This ability is also selective, meaning that Darrell can make individual parts of his person intangible if he really wanted to. He can also disrupt electronics and physical matter, including those possessing invulnerability, with this method of selective phasing in order to quickly dispatch enemy targets by severing material particle bonds.

  • Data Propagation: Darrell can manipulate virtual particles to tear cracks in space-time, or “shortcuts” in order to achieve feats of teleportation. By utilizing tele-transportational radiation, Darrell’s shortcut rifts can disassemble matter or energy into its finest components and reassemble them upon arrival at his/their desired location. This power is sometimes thought to be Darrell utilizing a form or variation of "quantum tunneling" as he can also use this power to transport through barriers that may be designed specifically to work against teleporters.
    • Digital Screen Transportation: In recent years, Darrell has mastered the ability to teleport via digital screens. This is easier with cell phones than it is anything else like television screens, tablets, and even computer screens, but its achievable nonetheless. The only parameter is that the appliance has to be turned on in order for Darrell to teleport through it or else there's a chance he might become trapped in what he refers to as the "incorporeal world."
    • Tele-Frag: An offensive use of his teleportation abilities, Darrell can “tele-frag” himself in the exact location in which an enemy target is standing and forcefully push them out of the way.
    • Trick-Jumping: Another usage of this ability Darrell has since learned how to do is a process known as "trick-jumping." It turns out that whenever Darrell teleports, he actually maintains a steady stream of energy and momentum when he ports from point A to B. This has since been utilized as an alternate transportation method by Darrell combining his parkour and climbing skills with his teleportation in order to perform indefinite wall runs, climbs, and jumps so that he can quickly travel throughout the city.

  • Holographic Projections: Darrell can create solid three-dimensional items from artificial light in order to manifest hard-light constructs. These constructs have come to be known as Holographic Projections, or Holo-Projections for short. It is through these Holo-Projections that Darrell can create anything such as shields, weapons, or illusions to better suit him for offensive or defensive combat. The Holo-Projections also possess their own audio capabilities in order to give sound to some of Darrell's more complex constructs and they are fueled by the electrostatic energy he has previously absorbed from a nearby electronic or object that runs on electrical power. Darrell can also selectively choose whether they are either tangible or intangible by casting a wireframe within them that allows them to maintain their cohesion and stability. When these holograms are created they either take the form of translucent constructs with a circuitry overlay running throughout their form or, depending on the frequency, a photo-realistic image or visage over the hologram in order to create a distraction that'll divert enemy attention away from Darrell and/or his allies. The only limit to the projections is Darrell's own imagination and how much energy is left in the tank to create bigger and more powerful projections.
    • AR-Construct Creation: Perhaps the most common usage of his holo-projections, Darrell can create digital AR constructs of various weapons, tools, and equipment for him to use in either ranged or melee combat. Like his force fields, these projections are naturally strong and incredibly resilient to most alternate forms of offensive energy or attacks, though an overwhelming amount of force and/or power can cause Darrell to “drop” his construct(s) and make them dissipate into virtual particles again.
    • Force-Field Creation: Darrell can emit holographic force fields of varying sizes in order to protect either himself or allies from oncoming attacks. The force fields are incredibly strong despite their appearance, they are both flame and bullet resistant.
    • Holographic Decoys: While it takes some time to actually get right, especially on the first try, Darrell can create holographic decoys of himself or others in order to get the drop on unsuspecting enemies. Their base form is usually that of a hard-light projection with a circuitry overlay running throughout their form, but Darrell can impose an image and or form to said projection in order to make it look more “real” and lifelike.
    • Simulated Battlefield: An extreme usage of his holo-projections, Darrell can actually create an entire simulated battlefield or arena and super-impose that fake reality onto the real world. This is an ability that's rarely seen or utilized due to its “overpowered” nature as well as the nature of its capabilities are far too taxing for Darrell to handle at this point in time.

  • Diagnostic Signal: Darrell appears to possess an extraordinary sixth sense that allows his mind to operate like an analytical engine, capable of detecting and rapidly responding to perturbations going on in the world around him related to his current positioning (i.e. the space, room, or location he would be occupying at that particular moment). This ability is described by Darrell as a "static-like" sensation that starts in the back of his head and moves throughout his entire body, growing stronger and "louder" the closer he is to making an optimal choice in his own critical thinking skills.

Sometimes known as “Signaling”, Darrell recognizes it moreso as a "diagnostic sweep" of his current environment that starts with what feels like a subtle "thunk" in the back of his head which is actually his brain automatically sending out a neural pulse that parses his surroundings by absorbing cascading data and energy coming in from the world around him. Then, through a complex mental algorithm, multiple information streams (e.g. threat assessment, global positioning, observational, and situational awareness) are generated that allow Darrell to swiftly analyze and rapidly respond to changing tactical situations, by identifying the variables and adjusting the outcome to whichever is most favorable to him. While this ability isn't a "danger sense" per se, it does provide Darrell with the means of analyzing, identifying and critically evaluating a potential threat or outcome at a subconscious level before acting upon it. Darrell's diagnostic signal acts more so as a means of providing him with a heightened awareness of his surroundings, situation, and possible outcomes that might result in heavy collateral damage or even death if there is to ever be a lack in his own critical thinking.

This doesn't go without saying that Darrell can also elect to "ignore" his signal sense and operate against it. The pulse would appear to have an intelligence of its own and will occasionally only relay outcomes that benefit Darrell specifically and not those around him, thus implying that this power isn't always reliable in the best (or worst) of times as it'll sometimes put Darrell's well-being over those he is trying to protect and/or save.

  • Mental Firewall: While this doesn't make him completely immune to telepathy or even mental manipulation, in the time since his first adventure with Quantum League that saw him become mind-controlled by a band of magic-using villains, Darrell has since trained his mind to be more resilient to telepaths and psionics. Darrell can erect a "neural firewall" that can protect him from outside mental influence and direct mental attacks, probes, or detection. Darrell has even trained himself to subconsciously make this firewall stronger once the presence of outside influence is felt or detected by him personally.

  • Superhuman Durability: It would appear that Darrell possesses some lower-tier enhanced durability. Allowing him to survive the most deadly of impacts and collisions.

  • Accelerated Recovery Rate: Darrell's body appears to heal and recover from most extensive injuries at a much faster rate than normal humans can. Much to his chagrin, Darrell dislikes calling it a "healing factor" as it would appear that most injuries aren't instantly healed in a matter of minutes or hours, but over the course of a full night's rest. This would imply that rather than a proper healing factor, Darrell actually possesses an accelerated recovery rate that sees him capable of having quick "turnaround" periods to bounce back from most minimal-to-severe injuries so long as he's given the ample time to rest. In layman's terms, Darrell's natural healing is still the same as any other humans, but the rate of recovery that would see him back in fighting shape is what is truly "enhanced" about him. This power also provides Darrell with a heightened immune system that renders him less susceptible to most forms of drugs and/or toxins that are to find themselves in his bloodstream.

  • Peerless Hacker/Programmer: Darrell's sheltered life led to him developing a knack for computers and software development, so much so that he was eventually enrolled in computer classes down at the community center in his neighborhood. While here, he developed his first piece of malware under the name R4Gn%r0k with Russell Lyman before it was stolen and repurposed as a virus that would aim to shut down SOCRATES and give eLite_Circuit, an aspiring cyber-terrorist group Darrell unknowingly joined, access to all of Millennium City's power grid and infrastructure. As Glitch, Darrell's hacking experience has skyrocketed immensely as he was able to tap into onboard computers of Quantum League's personal ship, despite the heavy damage that was taken to it during a supervillain attack. He's even gone in and (from what he claims) reset and reprogrammed a lot of the ship's computer systems with his own code and scripts and made it "better", claiming that whomever created it originally was a "noob" at best. Darrell's technological expertise is of the highest degree and puts him first in line for any sort of computer know-how that may be required for a mission.

  • Skilled Tactician: During his time as an officer in Quantum League, Darrell often found himself having to aid in organizing strike teams and devise plans for his group. While he certainly wouldn't consider him an "expert" or "master" at the particular craft, Darrell is fond of thinking outside the box and approaching a given threat from all possible angles. Interestingly enough, Darrell also like to think on the same level psychologically as the villain or threat that he and/or his allies are up against. He does this in attempt to predict the target's next plan or method of attack and what are some ways or obstacles everyone should be aware of or take into account before just running in blindly.

  • Surveillance/Communications Expert: When first welcomed into the Quantum League, Glitch signed on to be the team's surveillance and communications expert. This was due in part to having picked up a thing-or-two from eLite_Circuit's own communications officer, Kristen Ladner a.k.a Uplink. Darrell's computer expertise also enables him to be fully capable of even tapping into surveillance equipment such as cameras, microphones, and voice recorders as well as extracting whatever audio-visual evidence is needed from them or even erase them if need be.

  • Parkour/Climbing Expertise: During his time with eLite_Circuit, Darrell and the rest of the team would occasionally be forced to do "on-site hacks" meaning they had to physically go to a location or building they were trying to gain entry to, rather than to hack their computers remotely. In order to allow for quick and convenient escapes in case any private security or cops were to show up, Darrell had to learn the practice of parkour and climbing. Sometimes running isn't always the best tactic and the only means of escape is to scale certain surfaces to get out of arm's reach. While this is a skilled that sees less and less use since Darrell became Glitch, its an activity that he mostly practices in his free-time, just to get a little exercise and keep his skills honed in case he can't use his Velociskates or powers to get him out of a bind.

  • Byte Drones: Naming the two drones, Bit and Byte, Darrell utilizes a pair of automated drones invented by himself when he's out in the field as Glitch. The drones take on an orange coloration to match his powers and are capable of using quantum computing to link with other computers and networks, perform surveillance, fire compressed hard-light or laser blasts, and track any type of technology if given a piece of or scanning its circuitry. These drones tends to freely float around Glitch's person and can turn invisible when not in use.

  • C.A.C.H.E.: Originally, just an ordinary backpack that contained a small notebook laptop and a spare change of clothes, has now been converted into portable hammerspace known as the SpaCal StorAge Compartment for Holding Everything, or C.A.C.H.E. for short. This piece of equipment is essential for Glitch as it contains most of his personal belongings and most of what he can't fit or store in his utility belt. C.A.C.H.E was a 6-month long project that Darrell worked on with a personal R&D team he had access to when he was first welcomed into the Quantum League's ranks. A signature accessory to be found on Darrell's person when out as Glitch, C.A.C.H.E. has seen its inclusion into every costume iteration he has ever gone through.

  • Digital Lockpick: The digital lockpick is a device thats used to subtlety override the security measures used mainly in high-tech blast doors so that they can be breached without setting of any silent alarms. This lockpick is usually attached magnetically to the door in question should it be made of metal, but theres also a separate gadget known as a 'data-card' which is an electronic card thats preloaded with a "skeleton program" that can override security panels and terminals should the lockpick itself can't be used.

  • Efficacy Suit: Darrell's costume has gone through many designs and iterations throughout his time of being hero. Originally it had a more "vigilante" look to it as his first ever costume was primarily street clothes. As the months and year progressed, the costume saw some much needed upgrades as Darrell was coming face-to-face with metahumans far more frequently than before. The latest "3.0" version of Glitch's costume is a type of "smart clothing" which makes use of micro-computers and nano-liquid circuitry embedded throughout its material in order to keep Darrell constantly "plugged into the internet". A Wi-Fi and radio receiver provide him with wireless internet access and communications with radio traffic so he can scan police radio transmissions as well as pick up radio signals too. The Wi-Fi receiver also allows Darrell backdoor access to monitor and control any systems connected to a wireless computer such as surveillance cameras, temperature/climate control functions, etc. The suit is also heavily shielded against EMPs, technopaths, and excessive uses of electricity and/or magnetic attacks, this is all to keep from having the suit's onboard systems being destroyed in the wake of a battle. Lastly, there's the hexagon-shaped module that sits comfortably on Glitch's chest. This module is sometimes recognized as a "hands-free multi-tool" due to that its jam-packed with a variety of functions such as a defibrillator that can provide a magnetic-electrical charge to Darrell's heart with two consecutive administrations should he ever flatline, project a non-lethal Pulson blast that can knock back and incapacitate opponents from a couple meters away, and project a protective force-field around Glitch's chest or his entire body the moment it detects or predicts Glitch's reaction time won't allow him to save himself in time to counter an attack. When the costume isn't in use, its stored in a portable, pocket-sized canister where it will expand to full size whenever it's needed.

  • Glitchbits: These small, circular devices are usually silver-colored in appearance and are about the same size as a fifty-dollar coin. Glitchbits are electronic tracking devices used by Glitch in order to track objects or individuals through tracking software built into his suit. These are typically planted or thrown at fleeing targets so that Glitch can follow them to their hideout, in the years since becoming more established in his role as a hero, Glitch has created a mechanism in his suit that can fire these tracking devices from a distance and has even outfitted them with cloaking technology so that they can't be seen and removed by the target they've been attached to.

  • Smart Mask: Not only meant to safeguard his secret identity, Darrell utilizes a mask of his own design to provide him with a heads-up display that gives him real-time information about the world around him in order to perform complex visual scans on his environment or beings around him and determine their intimate properties as well as diagnose the condition of what he observes and find inconsistencies or errors in buildings, structures, or even people. This mask also comes equipped with a voice modulator that disguises Darrell's voice to prevent speech recognition software from identifying him and an air filter that allows him to withstand gas or smoke attacks. A rebreather and proximity sensor have recently been built into the mask as well so Darrell can breathe underwater for moments at a time and detect the presence of threats he or his mask's visor can't perceive.

  • Taser Tanbo: In the event he might have to resort to hand-to-hand combat, Glitch's weapon of choice are a pair of modified tanbo sticks that have been outfitted with tech that can administer an adjustable mild-to-severe electric shock that can be used to incapacitate targets with little effort. The tanbo sticks can also disburse a wave of paralytic electric energy that can be used to attack enemies at a distance.

  • UFED Physical Analyzer: The physical analyzer is actually a piece of software that allows Glitch to recover lost or deleted data from any kind of electronic whether it be a computer, smartphone, tablet, laptop, etc. The analyzer is rarely used unless Glitch is conducting an investigation that warrants him needing to receive the lost data if he believes it could be valuable in solving a case. Glitch usually keeps this analyzer program preloaded on a flashdrive for ready use in case he ever needs it.

  • Utility Belt: Created as a fallback whenever he's in a bind where he can't or is unable to use his powers, Glitch, wears on his person, a utility belt. While the assortment of gadgets and weaponry are known to be swapped out and/or replaced depending on the mission, the primary equipment Darrell is known to carry usually consists of miniature flashlights, lockpicks, a bag of marbles, smoke/flash/and stink bombs, sonic devices, a flare gun, zip-cuffs, EMPs, and first aid kits just to name a few. There also exist a couple of anti-metahuman specific gadgets and weaponry that Darrell keeps in the event he finds himself up against a considerable superhuman threat.

  • Velociskates: Glitch's primary method of transportation outside of his short-range teleportation bursts. The Velociskates use sophisticated anti-gravity tech, likely taken from the Gadroon, to propel the wearer across most surfaces both horizonal and vertical via the use of miniature gyros. The tech is recognized as "reverse sole inserts" and are worn on the underside of footwear rather than the inside. Its also modular and allows the tech to even be used in plain clothing for quick getaways.

Strengths
StrengthsHeader.png
Power.png

Besides his trademark skills as an expert computer hacker and programmer, Darrell has displayed other noteworthy strengths in his time since becoming a superhero. The most apparent on his indomitable will and sense of humor. While Darrell has fallen victim to mind control at least once so far, his thoughts and mind space are completely void of inherently evil intentions. He tries to avoid fights if he can, especially when a dangerous metahuman is yet to take any lives of the people they're endangering thus far, when he is forced to go on the offensive, Darrell usually resorts to using holo-projections to avoid, from any, collateral damage. Even when in the face of the defeat, Darrell will continue valiantly in his efforts to see a mission through to the end unless the fight is truly lost and retreat tactics are needed to be considered. This leads into another resourceful trait of Darrell's, which is his expertise as a skilled tactician. Quick to analyze most metahumans' powers while they're in use, Darrell will usually try to figure out the best plan of attack, counter-attack, or defensive maneuver, depending on the individual he's fighting. He's also takes a metahuman's physiology into account as well, figuring out ways to distort a person's senses or halt their breathing if it means bringing their onslaught to a temporary standstill. It is due of this that Darrell's gifted-level intellect oftentimes has him mistaken for a "genius", though his humble demeanor will never let him rightfully claim this statement as true. Its because of his intellect that Darrell's been able to hone his skills as an expert engineer and inventor to aid in him creating his large assortment of gadgets and arsenal that he's close-to-never seen without when donning his costume. His natural talent for science, mechanics, engineering, and computer science has earned him scholarships and places, among many think-tanks, for various technology company Millennium City; offers that Darrell has ultimately had to refuse due to his commitments as Glitch. Though this level of scientific expertise doesn't go unused or noticed by others as he has helped create plenty of technologies such as several variations of costumes he's worn as Glitch and has even donated some of his more innovative gadgets to companies so they can study and develop their own tech using his as a blueprint.

Archetype Button Impulse.png

It's needless to say that despite the few shortcomings that he has, Darrell tries to stay both humble and headstrong in his efforts to keep both himself and his team motivated. Speaking of which, Darrell charisma, passion, and empathy is rivaled by few, as he can relate with most people, in some way or another, about a problem or dilemma they're experiencing. While not the greatest "pep talker" or motivational coach around, Darrell always seems to know what to say that will aid in bringing someone's spirits back up after having them dropped to a significantly low point. A firm believer in "words matter", Darrell likes to make sure his speeches always contain or end with a message that allows for a moment of self-reflection and reconsideration in those that are experiencing or witnessing his speech(es) firsthand. While he personally finds them a bit cheesy and sometimes even corny, it does bring a smile and sense of satisfaction to his face when he learns or is told that what his words of wisdom and advice was effective in some way or another.

Weaknesses
WeaknessesHeader.png
Power.png

  • Power Exertion: Darrell's powers use a lot energy, physically and mentally, and can often leave him feeling very tired or fatigued. His ability to phase-shift and create holo-projections are perhaps what depletes his energy reserves the most and as a result uses this powers rarely if he can, but excessive use can leave him unable to actually use at least some of his powers for awhile.

  • Glitching: While he has a better grasp on this power than he did before, Darrell's namesake is actually one of his major weaknesses. Extremely tense situations where Darrell is experiencing moments of intense fear, anger, stress, or even shyness can lead to him subconsciously "activating" some his powers, such as phase-shifting. When this happens, Darrell can wind up making random parts of his body suddenly intangible or he can wind up turning himself partly invisible, or he can end up "flickering" and suddenly teleport to one location and back to the spot he teleported from. To compensate for this hindrance, Darrell usually tries to crack jokes whenever he can, just to avoid from having the awkwardness take him over.

  • Gray Agenda: Given his background as a gray-hat hacker and his (in)ability to fully see things as black and white, Darrell will sometimes be too quick to consider options or decisions that can go against the typical moral code most heroes follow. In moments such as this, Darrell will usually remain quiet and wait to see if anyone offers a better solution that he never/didn't think of, but when every last counter-measure has been considered or thought about, he will commit or consider acts such as murder if theres no other choice.

  • Arrogance/Overconfidence: It feels good to be on the winning team, especially when your team has pulled victory after victory time and again. This leads to Darrell becoming overconfident and arrogant in his actions. Its not often that he underestimates an opponent unless they've managed to prove themselves a capable threat and its at that moment that he will decide to wise up and prepare a better plan of attack.

  • Anti-Network Viruses: Facing off against Trojan taught Darrell that Network Users that are capable of creating their own "viruses" can disable his powers. Trojan was capable of disabling and making Darrell's powers work less effectively and even destabilize his holo-projections' stability so that they are intangible like actual holograms. As a result, Darrell has to fall back on using his arsenal of gadgets in order to properly take down a User with a corrupted connection to the Network.

ArcTempestQLRoster.jpg

ARC TEMPEST

Real Name: Nayare Saville
Skills/Abilities: Electrokinesis, Teleportation

"Arc Tempest, or as most people call her, Arc, is...different to say the least. She's an ex-member of the Quantum League and lets just her ways of being a loose cannon and inability to really take things seriously often led to her butting heads with leadership. Her brief stunt as a small-time villain from the UK likely also didn't help too much either as it often made those suspicious whether or not this sudden shift to the hero life is actually a legitimate one or something she's "trying out" until she grows bored of it."'

"So far, I'm fortunate enough to say that doesn't look to be the case...yet at least because while her knucklehead behavior can often derail a plan of action or mission, Nayare is till great company to have around you in a social setting. She breathes life into the room and pretty much forces the silent and introverted like myself into actually speaking, which I must say is rare and exceptional quality one could ever possess."

Chameleon1.jpg

THE CHAMELEON

Real Name: Chanelle Perry
Skills/Abilities: Enhanced Physical Attributes/Peak Physical Conditioning, Invisibility, Energy-based Reptilian Skin

"Chanelle Perry also known as the Chameleon. Not sure what to say about this one other than she pulls off green and somehow manages to keep her hair looking perfect in the heat of battle. I first met her when I joined up with The Quantum League and dare I say did I feel under-dressed walking into the room with a bomber jacket and hoodie as opposed to all the fancy, colorful tights they had on."

"Chanelle is a determined young woman and always seems to approach most situations head-on with both tenacity and vigor, but deep down I feel as though there's a side of her that she's yet to show or express. Maybe it's due to fear, anxiety, or just stubbornness. Her position as commander likely makes it feel as though she can't show signs of weakness out of not wanting to unintentionally instill doubt in the rest of the team's capabilities, but she's human like everyone. Her drive to want everyone to be the best they can probably helps distract her from some deep-rooted thoughts or memories she refuses to revisit."

DOMAIN

Real Name: Zoya Okafor
Skills/Abilities: Mental Manipulation, Neurokinesis

"Zoya, known to many by her more popular name, Domain, was one of the first street-level heroes I met after becoming Glitch. Leader of a Vibora Bay-sanctioned resistance group known as OUTBreak, this lady is the definition of fierce. All bite and bark, but knows how to switch it up and keep things tame if need be. Domain's powers of mental domination and neurokinesis make her a threat to anyone with a brain and definitely not one to mess with."'

"She's driven and motivated to whatever her mission may contain and doesn't stop until she sees it through to the end. Definitely one you want by your side if you find yourself down and not wanting to get back up."

UPDATE: Domain currently leads a new social activism/resistance team known as the Astrals.

FlashpointQLRoster.jpg

FLASHPOINT

Real Name: Arielle Altomare
Skills/Abilities: Pyrokinesis, Pyrokinetic Flight, Heat Control/Absorption, Dragon Transformation(?)

"First, let me tell you how ironic it must be to be named Arielle, have red hair, but possess pyrokinetic abilities over water-based powers and the ability to breath underwater. Anyway, Arielle a.k.a Flashpoint is perhaps like the younger sister I never had. Joining the Quantum League at only 18 years old, Arielle is a fierce, determined and literally hot-blooded Italian with a love for cooking and making sure her friends are safe by whatever means necessary."

"If anyone threatens them or comes in the way of harming them, she gets pissed. This little lady is who I have to thank for blessing me with my current culinary skills as if it weren't for her, I'd still be ordering pizza and Chinese food everyday. Arielle is following in her grandfather's footsteps he forged when he was a superhero and only hopes that she can honor his memory in the best way she can. And that is by helping everyone and anyone she can while also making a few friends along the way.

Overclock.jpg

OVERCLOCK

Real Name: Carlos Hernandez
Skills/Abilities: Hyperkinesis

'My boy Specs, the leader of the Quantum League. Favorite catchphrase: "[Something] [Something]...My ship". Gotta say that the guy takes himself too seriously at times, but I suppose that it can come with the territory of being a leader. I try to crack a joke or two to get him to loosen up, but seems as though this can work sometimes and not at all really. I can tell the guy is partly nervous about the position he holds because he's worried about if he's doing it right".

"Personally, I don't think that should be the biggest concern, instead it should be how you can get things done effectively. Results speak louder than actions in my book and if the day can be saved or the mission is done with little-to-no hiccups, casualties, or minimal property damage. Then its a win all the way around to me."

QUESTIONSPAR.png

RECLUSA

Real Name: Anna Trent
Skills/Abilities: Superhuman Physical Attributes, Surface Adhesion, Enhanced Senses, Healing Factor, Master Martial Artist

"Anna was probably the one I bonded with the most during my time with the QL. I don't know why but I feel like we just click and understand one another despite from what I can recall having very little in common. As Reclusa, Anna has had a very rough several years of being a superhero. Scratch that. Several decades of being a superhero."

"Every time she's tried to walk away from it all she's been pulled back in and lost so much from it. Gotta give it up to her for sticking it out so long. Reclusa also served as Chameleon's mentor so a lot of Anna's legacy and teachings live on through Chanelle which, if you ask me, I don't think there's anyone better to leave her mantle behind to."

SisterSalem1.jpg

SISTER SALEM

Real Name: Serena Foster
Skills/Abilities: Entropic Energy Manipulation, Telekinesis, Precognition

"Serena the not-so-Teenage Witch. One of The Quantum League's newer members compared to our last lineup of members, Serena is...different. Her powers, while impressive, are very volatile and have the potential of being incredibly dangerous if not kept under close examination. Serena is perhaps the most studious member I've met so far. Eager to learn more about herself and her abilities with each day, though its clear that her powers' destructive nature are scary to her, which is understandable."

"I do believe that with the right amount of training and control, she has the potential of being on par with Witchcraft with the level of power she possesses. Though only time shall inevitably tell."

"Ramsey Dominic was eLite_Circuit's cybersecurity specialist. There was no firewall or defense system he could crack, having him on our side was a good thing because he effectively made our own security virtually unhackable. I learned a lot from him in how to always to always protect yourself online in more ways than just VPNs and firewalls, the name he chose for himself is a little ironic, but honestly it was the most fitting given his specialty."

"It hurt having to slap the cuffs on the man who taught me all about cyber-security. But his lessons live on in the work I do in and out of the suit."

Real Name: Michael Kingston
Skills/Abilities: Superhuman Strength, Superhuman Durability, Temperature/Atmospheric Adaptation, Concrete-like Skin

"Most of his associates know him as "The Mountain", but people on the streets refer to him as 'Gravestone' because thats what he makes of those who dare cross him. CEO of Kingston Enterprises and an underground kingpin for weapons manufacturing, drug smuggling and human trafficking, Michael Kingston is one of Millennium City's worst offenders hiding in plain sight.

"Stories say he's undergone some experimentation that's granted him the ability to shift his skin into concrete with superhuman strength to boot. With money and power at his disposal, Kingston proves to be a considerable threat to the heart of this city.

Real Name: Alec Benson
Skills/Abilities: Superhuman Intelligence, Analytical Precognition, Expert Statistician

"No flashy costume, no crazy energy blasts or phase-shifting. Just his mind. Alec Benson a.k.a Poindexter possesses a superhuman intelligence that grants him the ability to "predict" the outcome of a plan, event, or scheme based on its overall probability. What's worse is, he takes advantage of his "Average Joe" appearance to make confronting him in-person look as though a superhero is shaking down a regular person that's done nothing wrong."

"Clearly, taking down Poindexter is going to require more than just raw power and strength, but my mind as well."

"Eugene Hawkins. Brilliant, but reclusive. His specialty was in malware, more specifically trojans. He enjoyed when his victims were unaware of his presence so he could monitor everything they did online without them knowing. I picked up my knack for installing backdoor viruses and malware from him. He chose the name Trojan because he preferred to be unseen and blend in with the rest of the background noise."

"Catching him wasn't easy as Trojan's primary ability is to rely on phase-shifting which pretty much made him a ghost and he could create his own encryption code which would interfere with my powers. Luckily, he depleted himself of his energy reserves, which left him open for a counter-attack from me. He's currently back in PRIMUS custody."

Her field of expertise was surveillance and communications, she was the one that was always disabling cameras a whenever eLite_Circuit found themselves going on "field missions". I learned everything audio-visual surveillance and gadgetry from this girl and it lives on in my adventures as Glitch."

"As Uplink, the Polychoron gave Kristen the ability to mentally control technology. Pair this with her brilliant mind for toy gadgets and weaponry made her a force to be reckoned with. She used her powers to go after child predators on the internet...by killing them. While I eventually caught and turned her in. • Hacker communities big and small appear to look up to Glitch as a sort of role model or even a celebrity and discuss him frequently in their respective chat channels. Your character might've caught wind of Glitch's existence that way, if your character is also a computer prodigy and/or frequents those communities.
  • Glitch can be very mischievous and sometimes spray-tags locations he's previously been or stopped a crime at. Usually these tags are just a styled blue-colored "G" with orange-and-green pixels emanating off it. Maybe you've seen them around the city.
  • While Glitch hasn't worked with PRIMUS or UNTIL in any way, he is most certainly on their radar. Affiliates of either organization likely have heard of the hero through gathered surveillance of his exploits captured by local news or cell phone footage.
    • Furthermore, Glitch is technically an unregistered hero and while this isn't a bad thing necessarily, his level of power has warranted PRIMUS agents and affiliates to consider reaching out to the hero and getting him to register so he can work alongside them.
      • Finally, while Glitch isn't a villain in anyway, the Superhuman Survey predicts that if Glitch were to ever go rogue, he'd be an Delta-class threat - which means that he would pose a credible threat to the national security of the United States. For context, this would mean Glitch is a greater threat than Cybermind who possesses similar, albeit mostly technopathic, abilities like Glitch, but is deemed a Beta-level threat by the Department of Defense.
  • Strangely enough, Glitch has amassed his own cult following on social media aptly known as "Glitchers." These individuals usually dress up in crudely made versions of one of Glitch's many costumes he's worn thus far and perform dances, recite phrases from movies or shows, or just perform skits in front of their cell phone cameras.
    • Glitchers are mostly recognized by their clever recreations of Glitch's iconic mask which as sense become his unofficial iconography online and therefore has raised public attention about him and his exploits.
  • Glitch sometimes hacks the hovering billboards around Renaissance Center and replaces the advertisements with memes...and usually signs his name to them.
  • As a pastime, Glitch usually pays visits to the low-income neighborhoods of Millennium City and tries to help give back to the communities.
    • This ranges from participating in volunteer-relief efforts or even teaching computer classes at the same community center he once attended.
      • Glitch's efforts do appear to be mainly centered on the Grove as that neighborhood is perhaps the most neglected in Millennium City and goes unrecognized or acknowledged by local politicians.
  • Between the various emoticons Glitch's mask displays and captured video footage of him in action, Glitch has become the subject of various memes and sh*t-posts.

RoleplayNotes
RPNotesHeader.png
Power.png

  • "Yes, I can charge your phone for you...": Because some measure of Darrell's powers use electrical energy, he can actually send a high enough voltage to fully charge a phone or any other electronic device to 100% in only a few seconds.

  • Digital Ghost: Despite all the content that can be found on Glitch online, none of it is actually posted by him personally. In fact, a lot of major details surrounding the hero can't be found anywhere. He's not affiliated with PRIMUS or UNTIL so they have no official record on him and he's unregistered so his identity isn't even known by anyone under their employment. In short, next to no one who hasn't met Glitch personally knows next to nothing about him, therefore making him a ghost. Not even his secret identity, Darrell Trevors, doesn't have a super active social media presence despite accounts under his name existing.

  • Emoticon-Projecting Mask: Because Darrell's face is fully obscured when he's out as Glitch, his mask has the ability to project emoticons such: [:), :(, :|, ^_^, ^o^, >:(] in order display his current emotion behind it.

  • "EMPs don't work on me...": Its a common misconception that Darrell's powers must rely on the use of electronics or nearby technology. This oftentimes leads to the idea that Glitch can be "disabled" or "taken out" via the use of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP). This, however, is not the case as Darrell's powers are apart of him and are also slightly esoteric in nature as well. Its because of this that EMPs are largely ineffective against him.
    • "Also, I'm not a Technopath": Furthermore, its also common for hero types like Glitch to be technopaths. Darrell, however, is NOT a technopath as he can't telepathically communicate or control technology. Its not in his power-set as he has rely on pure skill and knowledge in order to operate a piece of machinery or use an electronic or type of computer that's foreign to him.

  • Introvert: On most occasions, Darrell doesn't make the first move to initiate conversation, at least not with people he doesn't know. When around friends, its easy for this introversion to conceal itself as he's surrounded by those he trusts and knows, this is a lot harder for people he's still getting used to. Regardless of the fact, he will still manage to try and carry a conversation for as long as he can once the ball does get rolling, he'll insert a joke or two as a means of breaking any sort of tension or awkwardness between him and the other party involved.

  • Super-Secretive Identity: As the world progresses further and further into the digital era, technology is starting to evolve in order to keep up with the demand. As a result, Darrell is super protective of his secret identity. While wearing his mask, he uses a voice modulator to disguise he vocal patterns so speech recognition software doesn't pick it up and his visor uses a two-way mirror lens so that he can see out but no one can see in. This was done so that his identity can't be pinpointed via the use of a retina scan. Lastly, his mask is outfitted to send an electrical shock if anyone either than himself attempts to remove it during periods of unconsciousness.

  • Technical Difficulties: Occasionally whenever Darrell steps into a room, especially one packed with computers and other electronics, his presence has a tendency to make things act "wonky". This includes TVs flickering, computers running slow, video games glitching and lagging, and sometimes he can even make non-electronic items such as lights and lamps start to flicker and cause fire alarms to start beeping. This usually last for a couple seconds before eventually subsiding.

  • Wise-Cracker: His jokes tend to be hit-or-miss on most occasions, but Darrell has been known to crack a joke both in costume and out. Depending on who you are or who you ask, these jokes can very lame or very funny, either way Darrell seems to use this playful nature as a means of mitigation and distraction. In costume, he does this to distract from his own fear from taking him over in battle while out of costume, he mostly seems to do this to avoid from any awkward silences or pauses in conversation. A tactic that proves to be sometimes effective and other times, not so much.

  • Darrell is a big fan of musicals and of the ones he's seen so far are Beetlejuice, Hamilton, Shrek the Musical, and Wicked.
  • He views most patriotic heroes as "government lapdogs."
  • Glitch tries to keep most of his gadgets compact that way they can fit in his utility belt and be carried in his civilian clothes in case he's unable to use his powers.
  • His time with Quantum League has made him an expert in quantum mechanics and engineering as well as extremely knowledgable in extra/inter-dimensional affairs.
  • So far, Glitch has been a member/ally of groups such as The Astrals, OUTBreak, The Quantum League, and Victory Guard.
  • Is a big fan of rock music. More specifically hard rock, alternative rock, and electronic rock.

  • Is also a fan of rap rock as well.
    • Bands frequented from this genre consist of Deuce, From Ashes to New, and Hollywood Undead.
  • Glitch is extremely agnostic and a non-believer in magic, claiming that "magic" is some form of advanced molecular manipulation fueled my the creative subconscious that is one's own imagination. Though its rare he ever openly announces this in a given setting or conversation.
  • The concept of Glitch was inspired during a miserable game session of GTA Online where my presence oftentimes lagged friends' gameplay, created rubberband issues for myself and others, and resulted in delays in damage sustained to my character.
  • Glitch's Diagnostic Signal is partly inspired by the Spider-Sense (Marvel) and Ghost Sense (Danny Phantom/Nickelodeon), but moreso on Amadeus Cho’s Hyper-Mind (Marvel) ability and the Inhuman, Ulysses Cain's Diagnostic Precognition (Marvel).
  • Characters that served as inspiration for Glitch include Eugene Sims (Infamous: Second Son), Marcus Holloway (Watch Dogs 2), Wrench (Watch Dogs 2/Legion), Miles Morales/Spider-Man (Marvel), David Alleyne/Prodigy (Marvel), Virgil Hawkins/Static (DC Comics), and Duke Thomas/The Signal (DC Comics).
