Even among the decadence of the Malvans, Karn Jey is exceptionally arrogant and selfish. In the eyes of the delusional Malvan, he comes first before anything else. To him other life exists only as a means to entertain him, especially those of a 'tribal' status. He only truly accepts the authority of the Phazor, and even then it is a stretch to call it accepting. He believes that those who look upon him should be honoured, his presence being a blessing in and of its self for the 'common filth' of other species.

The Pilgrim's story begins with the enlightenment of his people at the hands of the Warmonger, ending their "primitive period" and ushering them into the beginning of a monastic age which continues to this day. Entrusted by the Galaxar with its absolute knowledge of Martial Arts, merely one facet of the war-entity, their lives would revolve around this act and the knowledge which came with it. They became a society which could be compared to the ways of Earth's Buddhist monks, divided by sects and focusing on certain teachings over others, but ultimately giving themselves to the pursuit of something higher - Oneness. Their world, nameless among the natives, was thus given called the Silent Monastery by alien visitors.

Karn has a natural disposition to collecting treasures and experiences - these are the things which hold the most value to Karn. To give him a noteworthy experience is to get on his good side, be they friend or foe, and gifting him a treasure will earn favour. While this is the case with many Malvans, Jey's prioritizing of experiences goes beyond the norm; the Malvan Arenas, the most popular form of entertainment among his kind and many in the galaxy, is seen as too dull for Karn. He, of course, sponsors and observes the game out of some form of social obligation, but they are not new or interesting to him. In line with this logic, he seeks out greater extremes and oddities to sate his hedonistic drive.
+
The Monks devotion to the martial arts has lent its self to them becoming a naturally powerful people, with even the infants of their race being comparable to a low-mid tier superhero in terms of strength and capability. Despite various attempts to invade, annex, control and influence the Silent Monastery by other aliens, they all ultimately failed due to the power of the natives and their ability to act as one in times of need - not even the Star Guard dare try and "protect" them, as they are all too aware of their ability to do it themselves.

He's quite the unsavoury character, as you can probably imagine at this point, but he's not exactly unkind or malicious in his ways. To those he truly likes he treats as siblings, and those who amuse him he will entertain their ways. At the end of the day, Jey was bred and raised to rule a colony at some point, and so he has his moments of genuine benevolence towards those he regards as 'commoners', as can be observed in some of his exploits on Earth. Still, most of what he does is purely out of self-interest.

The Pilgrim was born under an ill-star, and with a certain energy that many of his people lacked, defined by his ability to "vocalize" to species outside of his own and break the silence of his world. As he grew, so did his fierce and youthful charisma, a quality unbecoming of the peaceful and calm Monks of the Silent Monastery. Although and eager combatant and student, he was born to the styles of the Eastern Pagoda, which espoused ways similar to Earth's Tai Chi, a largely non-combative region which focused on a peaceful mind-set above all else. It takes a certain kind of individual to turn an art of peace into a violent and downright lethal style, and the then child Pilgrim fit the bill. The flowing rivers which went around the rocks became an unstoppable torrent which sank them and caught them in their torrents. The Aquatic Flow Divining Stars of the Eastern Pagoda was warped into the Pilgrim's unique Cosmic Flow Removes Chaos. It was only a matter of time until the child was exiled from the Eastern Pagoda, a decision supported by its own parents and friends, and it was forced to become a wanderer. Deeply upset by the decision, he abided none the less. He travelled between the Pagoda regions, challenging those who stood in his way, and crushed them. The Cosmic Flow eventually bested all styles on the Silent Monastery, and even incorporated elements from the defeated.

*'''The Vault Eudamon''': A mystery of Malvan technology. The Vault is, in short terms, a storage device that makes use of a separate space of reality, which binds its self to its owners. While this is somewhat unpressive by its self, the contents of the Vault more than make up for it. Up to and during the Worm-Malvan war, the Vault was used as an armoury and archive for the Kardash colony and its satellite colonies. Much of the 'highly-destructive' weapons content was lost in the defence and fall of Kardash, but there is still more than enough in there for any individual to make use of. Each item in the vault has a deeper connection to the vault than the physical one - they are there in 'concept' as well as 'reality', allowing them to return to return there at the users will, even if broken. Despite having a literal armoury at his disposal, Karn is no warrior, he can fight but he is easily outmatched in raw skill by many trained individuals. Luckily for him, the Vault has a few tricks he can use to even the playing field.   Some of Jey's favourite items include:
+
Distinctly an alien, the Pilgrim is defined by his red skin, cone-like head and mouthless features with odd eyes which seem to give him complete vision around him. His vocalizations seem to be telepathic in nature, but with an almost mystical twist to it. His voice "echos" from him, audible even in the absence of telepathic ability and in the face of defences - he speaks without a mouth to do so, in short, understood by any and all species in the galaxy in their most native tongue and conveying the point of his words clearly. How he eats is unknown, always managing to pull it off when noone is looking. His body (despite being short) has evidently been forged from the many years of training and combat, lean and agile but containing coiled power within comparable and surpassing the most powerful Bricks on Earth.

**'''Refraction Armor''': The golden armor which Jey wears to battle. It is arguably one of the most powerful items within the vault for an individual, granting them immense amounts of durability. It appears to operate similar to Snell's Law on steroids, redirecting attacks which fall under a hypothetical 'blast' category, to a limit of course.
+
Pilgrim's an odd character, prone to being rather "relaxed" in most situations and not putting his full effort into a lot of things, he views himself as long having passed the need to do so. He finds himself in a very much similar situation to his mentor, the Sojourner, in that he has to actively look for challenges and entertainment, and may even pass time by taking on a student for a couple of years before leaving them to their devices. While the Pilgrim may often posture in a near-villainous manner, threatening to destroy planets and such, he is nowhere near the kind of individual to actually do it. Usually, that specific threat is reserved for bringing out the best in those he fights, to try and make individuals fight as if everything were on the line. Stars know that he is very much capable of it at this point, and my inhabitants of the galaxy know it. His ultimate goal, however, is to find an art which inherently trumps his own and any other which he may employ, the ultimate fighting style.

**'''Liburn''': A decorated broadsword of distinctly alien design which Jey has taken a liking to. The only additional quality of the blade is its impressive sturdiness, it seems.

History

He had become the grandest of masters among his kind, a fighter without equal on his world. It was only a matter of time before he attracted the eye of something beyond his scope - before the Sojourner took interest in him.

Appearance & Personality

Powers, Abilities & Equipment

  • Martial Arts: Through the teachings of the Sojourner and his people, the Pilgrim has transcended the realms of mortality to join the ranks of the most powerful entities within cosmic space, and has earned the title the Northern Lord of Martial Arts - referencing the northern section of the galaxy. It is difficult to just call what the Pilgrim does "martial arts", but that's what it is at the end of the day, just taking to its near ultimate extreme. All his power returns to this.
