Background
Born in Chicago, Victoria was gifted from birth. Even at an early age she was clearly well above average. She was more intelligent and learned faster than her peers, and was sailing through school. When she became a teenager though, she began struggling. She told her parents she was hearing voices all the time, and that they were the voices of her classmates. They took her to several doctors and most simply said she was a schizophrenic, but one doctor decided to do an extra test, and found she was not hearing voices, but thoughts, through budding telepathy. With his help she began to practice and grow her psionic abilities, boasting a great natural talent for them. Her father owned a boxing gym, and helped with her training. Eventually she went to college, getting a doctorate in Psychology and Psychiatry, with a focus on criminal justice and metahumans. She also started her hero career as Psionica. After she graduated, she moved to Millennium City and opened a private practice catering to superheroes, as well as doing consultation work for law enforcement. When not treating heroes, she works as Psionica fighting villains, though she keeps her identity a secret.
Personality
Victoria actually has two personalities, though the line between them is blurred. As Victoria, she is a kind, caring doctor eager to help those in need. She wants what’s best for her patients and does her best to treat them. To keep her secret identity, and work better as a hero, she created her own split personality, of a kind. Psionica, her hero self, is still Vicky, but is everything heroic about her. The best way to describe them would be like twins in one body. They share memories and are totally aware of each other, the only real difference is personality. Victoria is quiet and soft, while Psionica is brave and outgoing. Vicky figured having such a different personality as Psionica, might reduce the chance of her identity getting discovered.
Powers
Psionica is a powerful psionic with an array of mental powers and abilities. She also has training in boxing and kung fu, as well as fencing and knife throwing.
Telepathy – She can read minds within visual range of her. She can easily read “surface thoughts,” the idle, of the top of our head thoughts and ideas that we have going about daily life, such as an internal comment on our coffee. Going deeper usually requires a bit of force, and depending on the individual’s mental strength, can be easy or difficult. Having someone’s consent allows her to enter easier.
Telekinesis – Psionica can lift anything smaller than an average sedan easily with her mind. Larger objects can put too much strain on her brain. She uses her telekinesis to fly.
Construct Creation – Using psionic energy she can form constructs such as swords and lances, her most used weapons. She can also form shields and barriers.
Psionic Energy Blasts – She can shoot pure psionic energy in the form of energy bolts and beams.
Weaknesses
Outside of her powers, Psionica has the same weaknesses as a normal person.
Mental Feedback – If she tries to read a mind that is too strong, or another telepath, she can get mental feedback which can give her a headache or even stun her, depending on the strength.
Strain – Using her powers too much or moving something too heavy can put strain on her mind, and weaken her, to the point of unconsciousness.
