BIOGRAPHY

Psynesis is a product of scientific experimentation mixed with back alley surgery. Psynesis was the victim in a serious mugging attempt gone wrong and ended up fatally wounded. This occurred while he was on vacation with his girlfriend while visiting the local shops of Westside in Millenium City. His girlfriend tried to get help but was also knocked unconscious by the attacker. A bystander who Psynesis simply refers to as "Science Freak" helped get them back to his lab which was closer than the nearest hospital. Psynesis' girlfriend was told to wait outside of the lab while the strange scientist attempted to help Psynesis. Psynesis awoke from a coma 5 months later to find that his girlfriend had left him and that the strange science guy had been caring for him since. Science Freak went on to offer Psynesis an opportunity to work with him to perfect the Psionic amplifier that was strapped to Psynesis' head. Over the course of several weeks, Psynesis helped the Scientist perfect the contraption. It was a month later when Psynesis decided to leave the Scientist's care and after several harsh words, he managed to get away using the very powers that he was given. He struck out on his own and spent a great deal of time trying to find his girlfriend over the course of a few weeks. He eventually got a job with the MCPD to help with cold cases due to his recent abilities to read people's thoughts and "sense" psionic energy. He worked with the MCP for the next 2 years but eventually began trying to do more on his free time. He began working as a freelance Private Investigator as well as other odd jobs that made use of his specific skills.

It was happenstance that he nearly bumped into his girlfriend who was dressed up in a costume shaking down a local thug snitch. He recognized her and was able to see into her mind that she was deeply hurt and angry at what she thought was his murder. He attempted to make contact but she attacked him and then vanished without a trace. Psynesis decided then and there that he would become a hero and try to use his powers to clean up the streets as well as try and help his ex-girlfriend.
