Background and Origin

Early life

Nathan grew up most of his life constantly on the move, going from city to city, state to state due to his family's financial issues as well as the system practically putting them under their thumb. His father and mother struggling for employment eventually forced him to get a job to help the family out.

For a time, things were looking up. His father, mother and him eventually finding decent jobs in Colorado, his brother getting a Bachelors degree in Chemistry and his younger brothers getting a decent school education.

Sometime after however, he discovered the "Real Life Superhero Movement." This coupled with his prior knowledge of corrupt politicians, unlawful police officers, unreasonable regulations and infringement of god given rights had motivated Nathan to pursue a vigilante lifestyle to put America back into the hands of the people.

Training

Unbeknownst to his family and friends, Nathan began to regularly hit the gym and the gun ranges, training both his body and himself in firearms and the art of hand-to-hand combat. After a year of hard work and exercise, he was now ready to hit the streets, but he needed something to conceal himself to the public. Nathan decided to create a costume, taking inspiration from the "Anarchist" appearance style, most notably that of Casey Jones from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by styling his mask off of Casey's. The rest of his outfit would consist of a black tank top, a Kevlar vest painted black with a red R spray painted on in the style of the Anarchy A, elbow and knee pads, black leather gloves modified with small metal plates for hand-to-hand combat, the half of a tire for a right shoulder pad, black jeans and black boots.

Beginnings

During his first days, he mostly did community based acts, such as helping the elderly cross the street, finding a lost pet or giving food to the poor, but eventually after many weeks of this he finally came upon a man being mugged in an alleyway and sprung into action, drawing his sidearm and blowing out one of the mugger's kneecaps causing the mugger to drop to the ground in agony giving the victim time to flee. Nathan took the man's gun and restrained him before noticing the victim come back. Nathan told the victim to call the police with which the victim thanked him and immediately did as he asked. Before long, cops showed up to the scene and took the mugger away, but scolded Nathan for his act of vigilantism, telling him to leave the hero work to the police, further being questioned as to who he is and if he has a permit to carry firearms. Nathan dodged every question thrown at him, continuously stating it's his god given right to both remain silent, not be searched and to carry firearms eventually causing the police to threaten to arrest him. Despite Nathan telling them of their unlawful behavior, they continued to threaten him. Eventually the police were given no choice and attempted to arrest him, forcing Nathan to taze the officer and use him as a human shield, pressing the barrel of his gun against the officer's temple and threatening to blow his brains out if they continued to try and arrest him. Nathan continued to back up slowly and rounded around a corner before knocking the officer out cold with the butt of his gun, taking the officer's sidearm and nightstick and making a run for it.

A chase soon followed, both on foot and on the road. Eventually after many hours of running, driving and shooting, the police lost him and Nathan returned home, collapsing on his couch in exhaustion. The following day, Nathan decided to look more inconspicuous during the normal hours of his life and less "out in the open" when it came to his vigilante work, deciding to buy an AK47 and a hunting rifle. His work became more and more dangerous, constantly evading the cops when he can and ending up in a firefight or high speed chase when he can't. Eventually he left Colorado entirely, quitting his job and has been living on the road ever since committing heroic deeds wherever he goes.

And then there was the Battle for Detroit...

Perks

Skills

Fireams - Has been well trained in the use of firearms due to his frequent visits to the gun ranges.

Basic Medical training - Knows his way around stitching and/or bandaging a wound, CPR and other basic medical related things.

Hand-to-Hand combat - Has been well trained in close quarter combat due to his frequent visits to the gym.

Quirks

Sensitive - His emotions are like that of an antique vase, push him emotionally too hard and he breaks.

Short temper - Just like as listed above but instead can go berserk if pushed too far.

Iron Will - Caused by "The Shadow Years,"^ has become more resilient to mental distress.

(ask author about it, not worth mentioning here really)^

Gear and Equipment

Gear

Guns, Grenades and Close Quarters weapons - See "Equipment and Paraphernalia" for more

Kevlar Vest w/ elbow and knee pads

Makeshift Grappling hook w/ rope

Relationships

Lover

The closest thing to a relationship Nathan has experienced was a long term one involving a girl named Jaleigh Overton, though they both saw it more of a FWB (Friends With Benefits) based relationship which is treated like a serious one.

Friends/Allies

George "Tyler" Krebs

A high school friend of Nathan's who he often spent time with during his off hours before he left to Colorado.

Jaleigh Overton

A girl Nathan met on a social website, has been romantically involved over a long distance with her ever since.

Ariel Weber (Samson)

A friend who grew up in New Jersey and lived with Nathan's family for a while during his time in Israel. He has very similar viewpoints when it comes to religion and politics compared to Nathan and his family. Is the source of Nathan's resources for armaments and equipment.

General Perception

Some see him as a criminal and a murderer, others see him as a true hero struggling against an unlawful society. Because of this, he is forced to take desperate measures to prevent being caught despite his wish to avoid conflict with the authorities.

Tropes

  • Bond One-liner - Sometimes does this before blowing the brains out of a murderer.

  • Determinator - Embodies this trope. No matter how beaten he is, he refuses to give up no matter the consequences.

  • Dirty Cop - Has seen and fought against too many of these individuals which brands him as a criminal because of it.

  • Guardian Angel - Swore to become this at the end of "The Shadow Years."

  • Police Brutality - One of the main reasons why he became Revolution in the first place.

  • Police are useless - Feels this to be one of the leading cases why the world is how it is.

  • Rule of cool - Sometimes likes to finish things off with a bang. See "Bond one-liner."

  • The Phoenix - How he symbolically sees himself after "The Shadow Years."

  • "The Reason you suck" speech - Has done this many times in the face of certain police officers due to their unlawful actions, has even had a few good cops join in.
