A rookie superheroine, Scrapper has only recently acquired her powers and has yet to do anything significantly heroic. As she is currently training with PRIMUS, odds are great that she won't be unknown for long. ((While most of the information on this page is easily available, certain features, such as her true name and past, are canonically confidential))

Appearance

Sophie Mill, a girl in her late teens with a short, slender frame and a nearly permanent smile, is far from imposing. The casual outfits and light makeup, even while in costume, only serve to further that. Among the heroines of Millenium City she hardly stands out, and her natural, human appearance lead to her seeming more like an imaginative citizen than a powerful hero.

Personality

Sophie, having brought up by loving parents, is a generally kind and polite person. She is rather caring, doing her best to help out those in need when she can, even if it'll involve using her powers. However, she is also somewhat unaccustomed to the same, which leads to her being somewhat nervous about actually using these powers. Her inexperience is quite obvious to most, both in the way she speaks and the way she would use her powers at a given time. Sophie is quite insecure around her newfound powers, and so she's not very likely to throw herself into a fight or take big risks.

Though not nearly a genious or possessive of high level intellect, Sophie is a bright woman, though this is sometimes overshadowed by her insecurity among other superheroes. She is still trying to get accustomed to being counted among them and even more to actually talk to them. However, she has spent lot of time in her younger years with watching news and reading about superheroes and villains and the like, and thus has some opinions herself on the topic.

With regards to crime-fighting, Sophie is a bit of an idealist. She is in favour of following the law above most others, with the exception being if lives are at stake. She will, she believes, always go for saving a life, rather than fighting a villain that might be running away. It remains to be seen if it will come back and bite her.

Recently, Sophie has gotten more used to the company on the international communication channel, and as such has begun voicing her opinions more and more. She may even turn out to be an outspoken member of the heroic community if she keeps this up.

Powers

Super Strength

Scrapper is capable of great feats of strength, and she only seems to be growing stronger as time passes. Tests have shown that she is capable of somewhat easily lifting a whole car over her head and lob it quite far. It seems that her body has improved itself and continues to do so through the mysterious meta-gene that has awakened in her body, steadily increasing her strength. This has no visible effect on her appearance, though for what reason and to what extent are currently both unknown.

High Constitution

While Scrapper is not invulnerable, her body has gotten a lot more hardy. It is now capable of absorbing a much larger amount of force before she becomes bruised or hurt in general, which does help quite a bit when she fights in melee combat. The exact extent of how much her durability has increased in currently unknown, however, but it is speculated that she is far from 'invulnerable' in this respect.

Rapid Regeneration

It is speculated that Scrapper is possessive of great regenerative capabilities, and her rapid recovery from the accident with the car points towards this as a possibility. The exact extent of her regeneration are as of yet untested, thus it is not known exactly how much damage can be regenerated, and how quickly. It is safe to say, however, that even crushing damages to her body can apparently be regenerated over a most a few days.

Super Jumping

Scrapper is capable of great leaps even from a standing position, allowing her to cross most regular buildings with ease. She can cover long distances with the longest of her jumps, but she does not have a great amount of control over this power yet. It is theorized that it is her great strength that allows her to do this.

Weaknesses

Insecurity

Sophie's insecurity about her powers could be said to be one of her greatest weaknesses at the time being. She has little control over the strength of her punches or the pressure of her grabs, so she is nervous about using any sort of strength, whether for fighting, shaking hands or hugging. If she is afraid to hurt an enemy, this could easily get in the way of her fighting if not prepared.

Regeneration

Another theoretical weakness is her regeneration's seeming need for energy. Whenever attacked by particularly fierce attacks, her rate of regeneration accelerates to extreme speeds in bursts, but this tears at the energy in her body. Because of this, she can often experience fatigue or massive hunger after such, which leads to, at best, discomfort, and at worst might cause her to be disabled or unconscious.

Mental abilities

A recent run-in with Psimon has illuminated another weakness in her defences; she has little protection to mental attacks of the psychic nature. While telekinetic attacks do not hurt her more than other physical attacks would, she has no mental blocks or anything else in the sort to prevent her from being controlled or sabotaged through her mind. However, this does not mean any low-life telepathic are able to control her, for instance, but they might be able to otherwise damage her.

Background

Childhood

Sophie Mill was born in Shelby, Michigan, to a somewhat poor family. She was fairly average in most ways; she was born at the planned time, her weight was average and her size was about average. Both her parents were loving and caring towards her and her little sister, Mary, who followed her three years later. They lived a relatively quiet life where Sophie and her little sister attended school like everyone else, with their parents working hard to support their education and life. Even from young age, Sophie had a crush on superheroes in general. Though she never had considered the thought of being a superheroine herself, she displayed a sense of admiration towards those she viewed as protecting herself and others. If someone in her school would slander the names of the likes of Defender, she would always speak out for the heroes, in displays of unwavering faith in the righteousness of the heroes. One of the main reasons for this was the story of Dr. Destroyer's attack on Detroit, which had left an impression on her.

Millenium City

When Project Millennium had, after Destroyer's attempt at destroying the city, reached its official end in 1999 and Millennium City was almost finished, Sophie's parents were some of the first to act on its call. They, along with many other families and corporations, saw an opportunity for a better life and moved to the new city. By now, Sophie was only 9 years old. She was placed in a school amongst many others and her sister, and grew up in the city in the later parts of her youth. The amount of superheroes (and villains) in the city jaded her some over time to the idea of superheroes, sating her enthusiasm somewhat and she would eventually shift her interest to other things, though of course she never stopped appreciating them for what they did. She entered high school and studies took over much of her time, the rest used mainly for sleeping, going out with friends and other mundane things.

The Challenge

However, one day while walking one of her friends home, she inevitably wound up taking another route towards her own home. This brought her unto the main street, which would within moments of her arrival be attacked by Brutus, a supervillain with delusions of grandeur and immense strength. He had placed himself in the middle of the street, taunting Ironclad to face him in battle to see who was the stronger one. Sophie, frozen in place in horror and perhaps some curiousity, had failed to escape the scene when Ironclad finally arrived. Ironclad, accepting the challenge, charged Brutus and a fierce fight broke out in the middle of the street. By now, most had fled the scene, and Sophie herself was about to. However, before she could react, one of Brutus' desperate attacks had hit an abandoned car in the road, which was sent hurtling towards Sophie. Sophie was hit directly by the car which the petite girl could hardly stop with her body, causing her to be flattened between it and a wall. Infuriated, Ironclad made swift work of Brutus and knocked him cold, hurrying over to check on the young woman.

Though many bones were broken and her body torn nearly to pieces, she was stable. Though clearly paralysed and unconscious, Sophie had survived the direct impact by the car, which had, established later by expert doctors, triggered a latent meta-gene in her body. This had heightened her physical strength, made her far more durable and, it was theorized, improved her healing factor hundredfold, allowing her body to slowly, but surely, regenerate the broken bones. A week passed, and Sophie woke up in a hospital bed, surrounded by her family. None of her relatives understood what had happened and the doctors, thinking that Sophie was now a meta-human, did not tell them their theories, as their policy was to leave these conditions confidential, in case a given meta-human would later adopt a secret identity as a superhero.

Scrapper

PRIMUS agents, under the guise of wanting to question Sophie about the occurrence, eventually appeared at the hospital. They revealed to Sophie that she had to register as a meta-human as per the law, and in return offered basic training courses for her to more easily handle her new-found powers. After questioning the agents on the exact nature of the registration (Is it public? Can criminals look at these files? etc.) to make sure none of her family could be harmed by this choice, she eventually registered under the superhero name 'Scrapper', a name she had often playfully used to describe the heroes who preferred close combat when she was younger. When she was declared healthy by the hospital, she went back home immediately, with the goal of making herself a costume.

Journal

Scrapper is keeping a journal of her development as a heroine. Obviously, other characters won't know this, but it can be found here for your OOC reading pleasure!

Vortex: Sweet girl, a bit naive at times, but she will learn in time. Has great potential if she gets over her insecurity of her own strength.
