Bugg: Chapter One

Brief Summary

Bugg: Chapter One takes place one year after James Tyler acquires his bug powers and revolves around him coping with his dual life as a superhero and as a high school student while also balancing the care of his sick grandmother. Bugg's adventures will also include him being chased down by many super-villains he also starts to learn the meaning of the old motto: "With Great Power comes Great Responsibility" dealing with the loss of loved ones and trying to operate as a solo hero. He starts to realize that being a hero is as easy (or fun) as it looks.

Roleplaying Tips

  • Respect Other People's Wishes: Once and a While you will get someone who role-plays in a certain manner. I honestly hate how some people wish for you to spell correctly its a pet peeve I have with Roleplays but still if that's what other Roleplayers wish for me to do. I'll do it.

  • Metagaming: Now everyone in the Champions Online community HATE this. Metagaming is when Out Of Character (OOC) Information is used when In Character (IC) as a way to make an excuse for how you know someones specific powerset, origins, and background. This is a big no-no. Yes you may have read someone's PRIMUS Database page and know their powers, real name, relatives, etc. but if its your first time meeting a specific person in-game and you go up and say "Hey Captain Arrow, I know your real name is Blake Arrow" Roleplayers make a big deal of this and are often "shunned" for when you do it.

  • Always Use Parentheses When Out of Character: Also known as "brackets", it is important to use brackets [] or parentheses () when you not roleplaying and talking for real. so for example: ((Hey, Do you guys know how to get quick Questionite?)). That lets people know your out of character and stop roleplaying.

Don't Play the....

  • "Superman" Character: No one likes when you play the invulnerable hero who is invincible character who can make bullets bounce off his/her chest or can be a "Walking Tank" and be invulnerable and can destroy everything in sight by using your intense strength, speed, unbreakable skin to be "The Most Powerful Hero in the World".

  • "Batman" Character: As cool as he is because of his screen performances by Tim Burton and Christian Bale, Some people don't like how you play the "Batman" character that broods in the darkness all the time and seem to know everyone's powers and abilities just by being a rich billionaire who has all the toys he needs to fight crime. Its cool to be a homage but just don't be too much like Batman where you can be hit by a car and shake it off because "I'M BATMAN!!!" Powers or not every hero has limitations.

  • "Flash" Character (Speedsters Only): As fun as it is even The Flash isn't always fast. He may be able to dodge energy blasts and move at supersonic speeds but sometimes he can be hit and knocked off his feet. All because your a speedster doesn't mean you have to be completely untouchable, at least be able to be knocked unconscious or knocked off your feet cause come on its unfair your still standing when most of your team is passed out on the floor.

  • "Spider-Man" Character: As Amazing as he is, Spider-Man has TONS of limitations and one of his well known ones is Wise-Cracks. The wise cracks are cool to bring out but after a while it gets tiring to see the same person spam a bunch of jokes in the chat box along with being a stressed out teen living the life of a superhero while also working at a media-affiliated group that either serves as the front line for the news, newspaper, tabloid, journalist, etc. So please stir away from this one.

  • "Hulk" Character: Well known for: HULK SMASH!!! Everyone loves a anger-fueled green Goliath but wither a homage or not no one likes to hear your variation of "Hulk Smash" or "If you get to angry, the stronger you get" Grond already serves as CO's version of Hulk but evil. Yeah you can be green, blue, yellow, grey, but don't play that character who can move a tank or helicopter.

  • "Wolverine/Deadpool": These two are very similar and tend to be everybody's favorite anti-heroes. Deadpool and Wolverine have very rapid healing factors especially Deadpool. Deadpool can't be killed and can reattach limbs that are disembodied, even his head! No one likes when you play the Deadpool character who can't die and can reattach fallen limbs unless your a vampire or something. As for Wolverine slicing and dicing is cool, but good luck joining those Avengers/Justice League-like Supergroups where that stuff isn't really allowed and is frowned upon.
