The main hero (name to be determined) was an undergraduate employee at the Museum when it was hit by any number of nemesis introduction arcs. While henchmen characters were facing off against heroes, one of them dropped a relic they were carrying that was in the form of a simple greco-roman-like helmet. The character knew he should turn over the relic, but while he was laying low and avoiding gunfire and energy blasts etc, the helmet reached out to him, and lured him to keep it.

Later the character battles with returning the helmet, feeling unethical about keeping it and worried about his work study job. The helmet again reaches out to him, this time to don it. Once he places the helmet upon his head it can speak with him telepathically, and it shows him a myriad of mystical sights and the rush of its knowledge and persona are overwhelming to him. The helmet calls itself Kharunesh. Over the next short while it begins revealing to the character the existence of magic and the supernatural (though certain heroes have sort of given the world that understanding), teaching him about the subtleties and nuances of their workings. Slowly this revelation begins to garner newfound powers for the character, and lead him to explore remote locales of the world, and even other dimensions to retrieve mysterious artifacts. These artifacts provide the developing Voidwalker hero with new tools and weapons in which to battle villainy!
