A soldier through and through, Warpwielder is belligerent, boastful, authoritative and more than a little grumpy. These traits, accompanied by his deep, gravelly voice, grant him a rather commanding and/or intimidating presence. Warpwielder values efficiency and honor, and expects only the best from anyone he works alongside with, be it his own soldiers or another hero. Having spent a decent amount of time in the presence of humans, he isn't nearly as loud, violent and war-like now as he was during his service in the Gadroon military. Like almost every other Gadroon soldier, Warpwielder possesses an almost inherent hatred of the insectoid Qularr, the current enemies of the Gadroon Empire. He will not hesitate to attempt to kill one on sight. However, he will make exceptions if it suits him.

"In helping Earth, I am helping my own people in turn. The Gadroon must find a new home, but is not here on Earth. Our home must be sought elsewhere." - Warpwielder

Appearance

Warpwielder is rather typical in his appearance for a Gadroon; Stout, muscular and frog-like, with rough, brown-striped green skin and a yellow underbelly. His body is covered with several scars, large and small, from past battles. While Gadroon medical technology is more than capable of removing these scars, Warpwielder prefers to keep them, proudly considering them to be reminders of his glorious past career in the Imperial Navy before the Empress took control of the Gadroon people. These are hidden most of the time, however, as Warpwielder is most commonly seen wearing his signature suit of gravity armor.

Warpwielder has made significant alterations to his now easily recognizable suit of gravity armor, to the point where it bears little to no resemblance to any style of armor used by the Gadroon Imperial Navy. Still recognizable as being Gadroon in origin, the armor consists of an armored, dark blue metallic under-suit with two thin purple stripes running along the length of Warpwielder's arms, legs and chest, with a silver-colored, powered chest plate covering his upper body, along with two sets of ring-like armored shoulder pads. Warpwielder additionally wears a gravitic harness around his waist, a self-built piece of equipment which grants him the power of flight without having to use a bulky jet-pack. Warpwielder also wears a pair of armored power boots.

Personality

"A proper Gadroon soldier is honest, direct, brave, strong, and above all else, noble. Such virtues are mine, and those of anyone who dare consider him or herself a keeper of the peace." - Warpwielder

Warpwielder is also strongly loyal to his people, but not to the government and its goals under the leadership of Istvatha V'han. Like most other Gadroon, he seeks to find a new homeworld for his exiled people, and is more than willing to get help from humans and others to see this goal come to fruition. However, he firmly believes that Earth is not an option, and that its people should be spared from slavery and death, as they have proven themselves in battle against the Gadroon, and that any further conflict with them would be more costly to the Gadroon than it's worth.

Warpwielder carries with him a strong sense of justice, and adheres to Earth's laws. Despite this, Warpwielder is known to be somewhat harsh when dealing with some criminals; He won't hesitate to break a villain's limbs in order to pacify them if they offer persistent or exceptionally violent resistance. Warpwielder generally will not kill on purpose, but will if he has been authorized to do so, or if he feels he has a very valid reason, such as preventing an act of mass murder.

In a social context, Warpwielder is still adapting to Earth mannerisms, and has some difficulty understanding some concepts such as sarcasm or the human interpretation of humor. His blunt honesty has also proven to be a something of an issue, as he will not hesitate to make a direct comment on someone's weight, appearance or other aspects, something which the Gadroon has been chastised for numerous times, much to his confusion and frustration. Nevertheless, Warpwielder continues to try and adapt to Earth life, and has taken to considering Earth a home away from home; It may not be Gadro, but living on Earth is preferable to living upon one of the cramped warships making up the Gadroon exodus fleet.

Powers and Abilities

Most of Warpwielder's abilities are derived from his bizarre and highly advanced Gadroon gravitic technology, technology which by Earth's comprehension of physics shouldn't even work. However, his intense battle conditioning and genetic alterations as a Gadroon soldier have left him with enhanced strength, heightened senses, great agility and pain tolerance. Additionally, he possesses many natural Gadroon traits that greatly aid him in his heroic duties.

Gravity Manipulation

Warpwielder's first and foremost power is the ability to manipulate and wield the force of gravity with frightening ease. He is capable of doing so thanks to a specialized pair of heavily modified Triglepa, modified from the original arm-shields he wore as a Gravitic Shaper. These devices allow Warpwielder to perform a wide variety of actions: Projecting crushing bolts of gravitic energy at targets, reversing an object's polarity, opening miniature black holes and erecting defensive fields are among the many actions that Warpwielder is capable of when using these devices.

Offensive

  • Gravitic Lance - A standard attack consisting of a powerful gravitic bolt that's capable of inflicting heavy concussive damage on a target. This particular attack is wielded by all soldiers of the Gadroon, most notably Lancers, in the form of a specially-designed triglep-mounted cannon. Warpwielder's triglepa allow him to project these bolts as well. Unlike the pre-configured Gravitic Arm-Blasters used by other Gadroon soldiers however, Warpwielder can decide how much gravitic energy to feed into the bolt, increasing or decreasing it's damage potential as he sees fit.
  • Gravitic Shockwave - After a brief charge, Warpwielder releases a powerful blast of gravitic energy outward in straight line, crushing anything unfortunate enough to be in it's wake with sheer gravitic force until it's energy is depleted. However, while utterly devastating against most targets, it requires a significant amount of energy to use.
  • Gravitic Lift - Warpwielder creates an upward burst of gravitic energy at the feet of his opponent, blasting them into the air, the blast itself causing significant damage. Warpwielder will often follow up with a second downward blast on his opponent while they are still in the air, smashing them violently back down to the ground.
  • Gravitic Lariat - Warpwielder creates a burst of gravitic energy behind his opponent, blasting them forward towards him.
  • Shaped Wormhole - Warpwielder "lunges" at an opponent by creating a site-to-site wormhole, delivering a powerful gravity-augmented punch to the opponent, more often than not stunning and disabling them

Defensive/Utility

  • Gravitic Fields - Commonly used by the Gravitic Initiates of the Imperial Navy, Warpwielder generally uses containment fields to remove an opponent from a battle for a short amount of time, or simply contain them until they can be picked up by the authorities. Alternatively, Warpwielder can use these fields to protect an ally or himself.
  • Gravitic Shield - Warpwielder is capable of projecting a field of gravitic energy in front of him that can absorb enemy attacks and convert most of those attacks into energy for Warpwielder's triglepa. While most of the energy is reabsorbed by the modules when Warpwielder stops using the shield, the remaining gravitic energy tends to form a lingering "sheathe" around him, which can continue to absorb and convert incoming attacks into energy for the short time it remains active.
  • Teleportation - Warpwielder can use his modules to open up site-to-site wormholes to use as a means of travel.

Super Strength

Warpwielder, like most Gadroon, is extremely strong, his military genetic conditioning further enhancing his considerable natural strength. While not as strong as some of Earth's super-powered heroes, Warpwielder is still capable of delivering powerful blows upon his opponents, and he will also use his gravitic technology to amplify the strength of his blows even further.
