"Greetings! I am Ishmand Raegir, a human scholar and servant of the Slithering Mayhem, Obitus. I shall be your informant and guide to the realm of Xrillium, and its inhabitants! The purpose of this here fountain of knowledge is to educate the uneducated natives of Xrillium, and also the many, many people who will soon be conquered by our Lady. Without further ado, I shall explain to thee what Xrillium actually is..."

Completely and utterly mad!

"Aye, that much is true! Xrillium, you see, is a place of chaos! But it wasn't always the case, my friend. Once upon a time, the land wasn't as war-torn or turbulent, but instead much like that of YOUR universe! If you thought the wars of Earth were bad, you've yet to visit Xrillium! Great battles between armies of perceived 'good' and 'evil' -- magic being exchanged between mages, drunk on combat highs; arrows blotting out the very sun itself, as opposing forces do their best to take out enemy ranks before they manage to get too close! Sometimes, one may witness humungous monsters accompanying entire battalions of soldiers."

Cosmologically, Xrillium can be found between the Higher and Lower planes of existence, where angels and demons reside respectively, and neighboring Earth's universe (and its parallel universes); it has been classified as a 'Chaotic Realm' ever since it was overrun by the forces now ruled by Obitus. If one were to enter Xrillum, they'd likely find themselves mentally overwhelmed by the energies within it -- it is a corrupting force, and one that has claimed the minds of the majority of the realm's natives. It is however possible to protect oneself from Xrillium's damaging touch using appropriate magic.

"Not everyone from Xrillium is a crazed, deformed monster! I actually find that very insulting. Being a native to the realm, I am of course subjected to the corrupting energies; but I wouldn't say I'm much different to the humans of Earth! Aside from the spikey protrusions upon my body -- BUT, putting that aside, there are a great number of creatures and people that hail from Xrillium, of all shapes and sizes! It is my duty to inform you of them, since I don't favor being eaten."

So, let's talk about fauna!

"As with most planes of existence, Xrillium has its own wildlife and native sentients."

Imps

At the very bottom of the hierarchy, there are species of imp that happen to be native to Xrillium, even before chaos overcame it. However, it is now assumed that all of the realm's imps have now been twisted by the corrupting energies. The imps are small, bipedal creatures that are commonly claimed by those higher in the chain as pets, or sent out in the midst of combat in high numbers to act as a screen for advancing troops. They have low intelligence, and consequently are easily fooled; they are also physically weak, but some have been known to learn spells that have been taught to them. They can vary in overall appearance, some lacking or boasting wings, depending on the region they originate from.

"Ahh, the imps! The lowest of the low; the runts of the litter; the-... Imps. Yes. They aren't too bright, and certainly aren't very strong; but they have their uses! I have an imp called 'Squirt' that fetches me my utensils when I request them -- handy!"

Xrillite

Above the imps, but by no means the best, are the "Lesser Xrillite"; they are bipedal, hunched and grey-skinned creatures with the strength and intelligence to wield both weaponry and armour. They are not considered to be natural, and were actually created artificially by Obitus' Pit Lords, who are magical adepts that work with the chaotic energies innately found within Xrillium, growing life to fill the ranks of the Slithering Mayhem's vast armies. The Xrillite are literally forged of chaos; they are all mentally unstable, and are completely self-serving. It is only because of the strict laws that Obitus has put in place, and the cruelty of her guards, Generals, and executioners, that the Lesser Xrillite even keep in line and follow orders. Without these boundaries, they would surely run amok.

"Not exactly the most cultured lot... The Lessers are... Good soldiers? If you don't count the ones that drop their weapons and turn tail. They can be incredibly cowardly at times; but when in numbers, and focused, they're very dangerous. They have the capacity to learn how to use a broad range of weapons -- even bows and arrows! It's just a shame they're so rude, and smell so bad."'
