Background and Origin

Origin


Born in England, Kayla Conners displayed traits connecting her to that of a metahuman at an early age. At first, it seemed like she cried more often than any other child, but it was revealed by doctors to be extremely active nerves, and intense mental stress. Conners' father, now a single parent after Kayla's mother died during childbirth, kept Kayla on drugs to numb the pain she felt on a daily basis. When growing up, Kayla displayed an abnormal development in her education, her grades on university student level before the age of 10. As her father became curious about this development, he reduced the amount of drugs she was required to take, then noticed the incredible acceleration of her knowledge. Offering Kayla a secret position in MI:5, she hastily accepted out of adoration for her father. At the age of 18, she was sent to Detroit to work alongside UNITY to perform intelligence work on a more global scale. Her ability is presently used to store computed information from the majority of the database in a non-computerised format, but soon left their employ at the age of 25.

In order to protect the identity of those connected to her at home, she was given a fresh identity known as Gerde Ziegenruck, and told to operate in German accents and mannerisms so as to keep the image strong. Showing clear disdain for the name, Conner went under the nickname 'Ziggy' in turn. She is presently the CEO of a privatised super group by the name of 'Victorian Company' with a group of super heroes known as 'Task Force Victor' under her employ, aiming to bring about a new era of heroism. She's jubilant at being able to throw her British accent around once more, having until recently returned to her original identity as a result of donning a public image.


Powers, Skills, and Attributes

Powers


Power 1 - "Superbrain" - One of Kayla's most defining powers is contained entirely within her brain. While most of her body is entirely human, her brain is much more developed and advanced, allowing her to read, process and store information more efficiently than even most advanced super-computers. However, her ability to take in this information is limited by possessing only a human pair of eyes, whereas most super-computers would be able to read information that would require Kayla's body movements to reach the speed of sound. This power has allowed Kayla to place her intellect on par with a university student before the age of 5, and as an adult, tests have shown it is virtually impossible to get a read on her IQ.


Power 2 - Hyperactive Nerves - One of Kayla's other genetic mutations is an increased number of nerves, with a massive output in bioelectricity through her body which increases their efficiency far beyond that of a regular human's. With this power, Kayla is able to utilise the five senses to their maximum potential, including having sight surpassing eagles, the ability to read muscle contractions in order to accurately predict potential body movement and a sense of smell that picks up scents that need to be neutralised rather than masked to fool her.


Power 3 - Reflexes - Combined with the prior two powers, Kayla's third power makes her a deadly asset to any group. With the ability to read information picked up from her drastically superior senses, her reflexes allow her to work in coalition with her rapidly working mind with little room for fault or panic. Since information regarding incoming attacks can be read in mere nanoseconds, the necessary responses put her body in a type of auto-pilot, even going as far as working a second mental process where she carries information from learned fighting styles to aid in her next action.


Skills


Skill 1 - Fast Learner - Kayla is an exceptionally fast learner, able to master most human skills or studies in the maximum space of weeks. (Otherworldly, unscientific or other skills not capable of being performed by a human being remain out of Kayla's reach)


Skill 2 - Tech Junkie - Kayla has a swiftly growing knack for technology, though displays a rather selfish approach towards invention, keeping her work reserved for herself and choice individuals rather than for the betterment of the world.


Skill 3 - Grandmaster - Kayla possesses the knowledge and muscle memory required to be a master in almost every known man-made martial art, with no signs of degradation as a result of little practice.


Skill 4 - Worldwide Speaker - She also fluently speaks every recorded man-made language, including dead languages such as Latin and Gaelic.


Skill 5 - Hardened Cells - Ziggy's body is able to sustain a lot more punishment as a result of genetic rewiring, allowing her to utilise her abilities as well as maintain under heavy mental and physical stress with only pain as an outstanding result.


Abilities


"Electroboost" - Ziggy is able to accelerate her entire body utilising the massive quantities of bioelectricity in her body, allowing her to move at Mach 1-3 levels of speed as well as expel electricity for a damaging effect. However, this technique requires a large amount of energy prior to its usage, and will disable Ziggy's powers entirely if overexerted. However, she is able to absorb third party sources of electricity to temporarily break her limit, with seemingly no limitation on how much she can absorb. Her default soft cap for energy storage without outside assistance is 3 billion volts.


"Genetic Rewiring" - With enough focus, Ziggy's Superbrain allows her to alter her genetic code and increase a specific bodily function, including the ability to regenerate specific body parts, even to the level of regenerating her a fully-destroyed brain at the expense of lost memories depending on the level of damage caused. If her heart is destroyed, she will need to have enough blood saved up to rebuild that body part before her precommanded cells can work on other areas. Ziggy is able to store massive amounts of protein in her body for this accelerated process.


Weaknesses


Weakness 1 - Sensory Overload - One of Kayla's strongest abilities can also be her greatest weakness. Though sometimes inhibiting her senses through technology or drugs to temporarily cancel this weakness, removing these blocks on her power makes her heavily susceptible to extremely loud noises. Kayla's body was trained to be resistant to pain, though her genetics will force her to feel it with greater intensity than a regular human being. An airhorn next to a person's ear may give them a headache, tinnitus or dizziness, Kayla would treat the audio-based assault like being directly stabbed in the eardrum if lacking the correct equipment to reduce the effects of outside audio. The same also goes for physical trauma, sour or spicy food, blinding brightness or sickening smells.


Weakness 2 - Coward - Having such an advanced mind does not always mean complete mental clarity. Kayla's morals will only go so far until her primal instincts kick in, and bravery will give way to Fight or Flight. The cocky image this superhuman displays is merely a front, as she takes a long time to become comfortable with certain people, is deathly afraid of the unknown, and will often avoid combat where she can due to an awareness of the various unexplainable anomalies in the world.


Weakness 3 - Emotions - The one largest flaw within Kayla's entire superpowered bloodline is the fact they were exposed to emotional development. While this aids in empathetic bonding, Kayla's morals and limitations prevent her from making potential superior solutions to problems, as well as prevents her from making various decisions that aid in self-preservation. Would this 'flaw' be shut off, Ziggy would become a mercilessly efficient problem-solving machine of a woman. While her emotional control is plenty stable, causing her to enter an extreme level of sadness of rage will disable her relatively quick, for several days.


Weakness 4 - Weakness to EMP - Ziggy's cells are electrified with quite an impressive charge, however, a well-placed EMP will briefly daze her and disable her powers for up to 5 minutes.


Allies


Task Force Victor (Victorian Company) - A creation of Ziggy's design, Task Force Victor is the catalyst of her ambitions to become a shining beacon to not only Millennium City, but the world in an effort to bring back the feeling of trust, hope and unity in heroes that she believes the Champions have thusly failed to uphold. She treats the members (dubbed 'Victorians') with a matronly disposition, seeking to guide them and help advance them as both heroes and people for the future.


Champions - Ziggy has a love/hate relationship with the Champions, but sees them as allies nonetheless. As one of the most powerful hero organisations in the world, Ziggy sees them as a necessity for keeping control of the majority of the meta, mystic and otherwise heroic population, setting examples all over the media and putting a halt to major threats across the globe. However, she's quick to recognise that with that wide an influence comes a lack of true compassion, seeing how ruthless the competition is for modern-day heroes. Ziggy and the Victorian Company occasionally work alongside heroes from the Champions in campaigns or operations within shared jurisdiction, though will often sneakily offer these Champions with the opportunity to join her group.


UNTIL - As a previous employee, Ziggy's clerical history with them is bright, allowing her to call on favours with UNTIL agents in dire situations. Like the Champions, Ziggy works with them within shared jurisdictions, though sees UNTIL as a much more preferable necessity as opposed to a lesser evil. She will often exchange information to UNTIL should she believe certain available details will fall into their interest, for the sake of helping to keep the peace.
