A Hit Gone Wrong

Two MCPD Motorcycles lead the way, followed by two black SUV's, a long stretch limo, another black SUV, and finally two MCPD Squad Cars as the convoy rolled up the avenue past the Museum under heavy guard. And if that wasn't enough, a MCPD SWAT Helicopter circled the sky above the scene, observing for any potential threats. Whomever was inside that limo was obviously very important to warrant such an entourage, but it did not save them as a single shot pierced the limousine's sun-roof and then the heart of the VIP inside. The convoy immediately stopped, tires screeching as people on the street began to panic and flee, then a moment later armed men in suits piling out of the SUV's and Limo spread out around the vehicles, taking cover and searching for the shooter.

Atop the Barlowe Building five blocks away stood the Assassin Elite 'Wetwork' with her foot on the ledge, smiling as she still gazed through the scope of her favorite rifle.

"Easy money." She mused as she slung the weapon over her shoulder and stepped away from the edge of the building.

The MCPD Helicopter headed her way as two of it's spotlights flashed on and revealed Wetwork's position on the rooftop, lighting up the area around her.

"This the Millenium City Police Department, Stop where you are and drop your weapon, NOW!" The voice over the chopper's loudspeaker demanded.

"Spoke too soon." sighed Wetwork, tossing an old sheet aside from whatever it had been covering next to her.

Leaning down, she stood back up and turned towards the helicopter now armed with a portable gattling gun in her hands, and proceeded to unload on the approaching MCPD craft. Round after round tore through the unarmored police vehicle, shredding it and the men inside as it veered out of control right over Wetwork and crashed on the far-side of the roof in an explosion.

A few miles away, Rebel sat in the cockpit of his new aircraft, The Albatross, a refurbished Wilson VTOL, monitoring the MCPD's Radio, when it erupted with commotion from the incident taking place at the Barlowe building Uptown. Sitting up he took the controls of the craft and released the auto-pilot with the flip of a switch over-head, and began heading that way.

Arriving mere moments later, he saw the smoke coming from the roof and sped over to get a closer look, circling around the building and hovering overhead. As he spotted Wetwork still holding her portable cannon, she too spotted the VTOL and raised it, the barrels beginning to spin. Rebel deployed his own weapon systems from the Albatross, and two large spinning mini guns each double the size of hers lowered from the bottom of the craft.

"Ya should re-tink dat move, cher..." Rebel warned over his ship's loud-speaker.

"You're right." Replied Wetwork, lowering the now slowing barrels of the minigun and tossing it aside.

"Thanks!" She then said before bolting for the closest ledge to her and leaping fearlessly from it.

Rebel turned the controls of the Albatross and spun the ship around to the side of the building she jumped from, getting there just in time to see her swing from a grapple line and through a window where he could not follow.

"Coo-wee!!" Exclaimed Rebel. "We got us a slippery one here."

Contacting the MCPD and informing them of his encounter with the assassin, Rebel remained at the Barlowe building, scanning anyone who left through the main entrance from the helm of his VTOL. He had surveillance drones stationed at all other exits also linked in to the scan, using basic info compiled from the recording of the suspect including her height, approximate weight, hair color and length, body type, and other discernible info. But neither he nor the MCPD spotted the suspect leaving the area, as she slipped out a back-door disguised as a secretary and blended into the bustling crowd on the street, disappearing.
