Ma'l'ka is from planet called Arriel. She is a cold and detached researcher who exploited Light Wing for research and development. She assumed the identity of Amber Summers, Light Wing's mother.
Role
Ma'l'Ka is a research scientist for ASTMA on planet Arriel. Her job was to take a false identity on Earth and observe Light Wing.
This project because when Ma'l'ka's species discovered a very rare species with an appearance of a rock that is self aware and intelligent, possess the ability to control the environment to a molecular level.
Shortly upon researching this spectacular life form: The Arr scientists learned that it will not cooperate with anyone, except for select few which secrete pheromones that appeal to it. Upon closely studying which traits the gem is attracted to: scientist come across Michelle Summers, also known as Light Wing. Her genes are perfectly compatible to the mysterious life-form, they have chemistry and mutual trust. Gem, a name given to it by Light Wing, successfully imprinted on the girl: thus making Light Wing the Arr's test subject.

Undisclosed to the public:
Ma'l'Ka's specie has 3 different sexes and many genders. The most distinct traits in what resembles a human male are black eyes and light skin. An equivalent to a female human: cyan eyes and dark blue skin. The third would be in-between which would serve both roles in reproduction: black eyes and dark skin.
Their society thrives and prospers.
The Project
To test out Gem's capabilities, the Arr scientists allowed Light Wing to live what may considered be an average life and see how things go from there. Ma'l'ka was ordered to blow her cover when Light Wing reached the age of 17 to test out how emotional trauma could affect the girl and Gem.
