Background and Origin
Jonathan was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He grew up in a middle class family. His mother, Sarah, an elementary school teacher and his father, Andrew, a police officer. He was born with a twin sister, Alexandra. At the age of 14 he was on a car ride home from school with his father and sister when an out of control vehicle struck their car head on. His sister and father were killed instantly while he, crying in the floorboard of the backseat realized his skin had turned into a shiny steel like metal. When the police and ambulances arrived they were unsure how he survived. He was too in shock to explain anything at the time.
A few months after the accident, to help Jonathan and herself cope with the grief of losing their family, Sarah moved Jonathan and herself to Indianapolis, Indiana where she was offered a job teaching. Since his accident, Jonathan was unable to explain how he survived. His mother thought it to be a miracle from God, but Jonathan knew there was something more going on. While in his sophomore year of high school, Jonathan attempted a number of things to harm himself. For example, he jumped from a water tower to see what would happen. Just before he hit the ground his body transformed into the same metallic substance it had from the night his father and sister died. He entered a burning building where firemen were trying to put out the fire. Again his skin transformed protecting him from harm. Only this time the metal was different. Almost like it had changed to suit the situation. He tried a few more times before coming to the conclusion that he had been born with super powers. He immediately told her mother who thought he was crazy until he decided to show her. Jonathan took her to the same water tower and when Jonathan jumped just as before his skin transformed into the metallic substance it had before and his mother stood next to him speechless. After a moment she hugged Jonathan and told him he was given a gift and he should use it to protect others, but not before he graduated college of course.
Jonathan attended Carmel High School and attended IU State and got his degree for teaching. He now teaches elementary at the same school his mother is principal.
During a trip to Millennium City, Jonathan was thrown in the middle of a conflict with PSI. He helped where he could by saving a few citizens and realized that he had a secondary power. He was able to shield himself and others from psychic based attacks through the power of his thoughts. This only works while he is in human form, however, in his armored form he retains the psionic immunity to himself. He also met Witchcraft on this fateful trip. Witchcraft thanked him for his actions in saving the lives of citizens and helping stop Medusa and Mind Slayer. He was named an honorary member of The Champions.
One Year ago Jonathan found out that his sister was alive and had the exact same powers as him. They reconnected while on a mission to Canada.
Powers and Abilities
Organic Steel Form: Citadel possesses the ability to convert the tissue of his entire body into an organic steel-like substance. This substance resembling steel is of unknown composition. He is able to transform into this armor-like state at will (the process is virtually instantaneous) and remain in that form for an as yet undetermined amount of time. Once in his armored form he remains so until he consciously wills himself back to normal. If he is rendered unconscious, however, he spontaneously reverts to his human form. While in the armored state, Citadel possesses the same degree of mobility that he does in human form. Citadel cannot become partially or selectively armored; his body is either entirely converted or not.
Superhuman Durability: In his armored form Citadel is invulnerable to most forms of bodily harm. His armor is capable of withstanding ballistic penetration. He can survive extremes of temperature from 50 degrees above absolute zero (-410 degrees Fahrenheit) to approximately 9000 degrees Fahrenheit. He can survive a collision/explosion of a force in excess of 75 tons. He can also survive falls from great heights while in his armored body.
Superhuman Stamina: In his armored form, Citadel generates fatigue toxins at a much smaller rate than that of a normal human. At his peak, he is able to exert himself for several days before his body generates enough fatigue toxins to impair him.
Superhuman Strength: Citadel is able to lift and hurl objects in excess of 25 tons.
Situational Biomorphic Adaptation: According to the current situation his metal body instantly adapts itself to give him the resistances he needs to withstand the incoming assault. These resistances are determined by the situation he is in and his body adapts accordingly to the situation at hand. The variety of Citadel's resistance manifestations appear to be almost limitless. He can also manage more than one resistance at a time.
Psionic Shield: While in his human form, Jonathan possesses the ability to erect a psychic shield to protect his and/or the minds of others in his current vicinity. When the shield is active, he is highly resistant to any/all mental intrusion, including psychic or empathic powers, hypnosis, illusions, deception, etc. Mind readers only “hear” static, while mind controllers are incapable of manipulating him or those he shields. He is unable to use this ability on others while in armored form. Only powerful higher order telepaths are able to break through, however it is very taxing and requires immense concentration.
Psychic Immunity: Citadel is completely immune to any/all telepathic powers in his armored form, but in turn, he is unable to use his telepathic abilities to shield others until he has reverted back to human form.
Gear and Equipment
Battle Hammers: Citadel has a set of hammers fashioned specifically for him into a set of gloves that he uses while in battle. The hammers are linked directly to his Ion suit allowing them to be attuned to his powers and will change accordingly to fit the situation, however, they are not as durable as Citadel and can be broken.
Ion Suit: A leather suit made from ion particles which are attuned with Citadel's powers and can can grow and shrink in size depending on his current form. In addition it is also like a wearable computer. It gives Citadel constant mental updates on his current physical and mental conditions and also provides warnings for when he is about to reach her limitations while using his abilities.
Communications Belt: His belt doubles as a communications and listening device. He is able to keep in contact with anyone that has the frequency of his belt, which constantly changes to keep his location safe from enemies. He can also monitor all police scanners and radios within a 100 mile radius.
Ion Jet Boots: A set of jet boots that use ion propulsion technology made to attune themselves to Citadel's weight and compensate for the amount of energy needed for flight.

General Perception
Jonathan is normally very shy but once you get him talking he is very open and engaging. He is very friendly and kind and willing to give the shirt off his back to see someone else's happiness. He is a hardcore animal activist and loves dogs specifically. He owns three labrador mixes; Bella, Midnight, and Madison. He is not famous in the hero scene and prefers it to stay that way. He believes he is not cut out to be a hero with standing such as those in The Champions. Talk to him. Get to know him. You might like him! :)
