"The thief flinched as the lights in the hallway dimmed. Shadows crept across the floor and engulfed his feet, trapping him in place. Sweat poured from his face as a tall man stepped from the shadows. A radiant green light burst from the man's brow" - Tales of the Arcane #102.

Origin and History

Collection

When he returned to the Powers of Balance, he was deemed culpable and stripped of much of his power in penance. He was sent to Millennium City with a new sanctum to relearn the Balance once more. Jacob Krantz has died, but is still available to advise Adam through The Mystic Mirror of Mirobol.

Friends and Allies

The Powers of Balance

This section is specifically for a spouse, lover, or some other form of paramour. Feel free to use any of the formatting from 'Friends/Allies' below.

Jacob Krantz

This section is specifically for a spouse, lover, or some other form of paramour. Feel free to use any of the formatting from 'Friends/Allies' below.

The Conclave

Put any friends or allies your character may have in here. You may give them descriptions or simply list them. To make a numbered list, simply place a # at the beginning of each new line:

  • High Wire
  • Monster
  • The Morrigan

Arch-Enemy

Adam Arcane

Adam Arcane

Adam Arcane - Gear and equipment are the things your character carries around and uses. These can be things like weapons and armor.

The Warped Dimension - Feel free to use this section to name and describe the gear that your character uses, if any. Be, again, as lengthy as you like.

Abilities

Powers

Power 1 - Put info on your power here. Be as lengthy as you like. Power 2 - Not every hero HAS powers, of course, in which case the powers section can be deleted. Power 3 - Just take everything from the HR tag above the Skills section, up to the "Powers" sub-header, and delete it. You can also edit the Main Header to take the word 'Powers' out of it as well.

Skills

Skill 1 - Skills are the things your character has learned to do, or has an innate talent at doing. Skill 2 - These skills can be as mundane as painting, to more fantastical things such as enchanting items. Skill 3 - If your character has no particular skills worth noting, feel free to follow the same directions as shown for the 'Powers' sub-header on how to remove this section.

Attributes

Attribute 1 - Attributes are physical or mental traits, separate from powers in most cases, though possibly enhanced by them. Attribute 2 - Attributes can be things such as flexibility, or being naturally acrobatic, or good eye-hand coordination perhaps. Attribute 3 - Again, like the last two, if you have no use for it, delete this section. You can also ALTER the section if there is something missing that you would find more fitting.

Equipment

Gear

Weapon - Gear and equipment are the things your character carries around and uses. These can be things like weapons and armor. Armor - Feel free to use this section to name and describe the gear that your character uses, if any. Be, again, as lengthy as you like. Gadget - If this section does not apply to your character, feel free to delete it. Also feel free to add more sub-headers as they apply, such as for a vehicle, perhaps, and that vehicle's statistics.

Inspirations and Creator's Notes

Doctor Strange, Doctor Fate - (1st character)

I'd started my last universe with the Superman archetype. There was no question about that for me. But I wanted to go somewhere different here. Thinking back to the beginnings of various eras I had in mind a kind of Martian Manhunter thing, but it really didn't click. So I thought of the beginnings of Marvel's Silver Age. Sure you had The Hulk and the FF and Spidey...but you also had Dr. Strange! Perfect! Here was something the other game had failed me at that Champions could do. They really didn't have a combination of power sets that simulated all-purpose sorcery very well.

He's about 90% Dr. Strange with a touch of an odd era of DC's Dr. Fate where Nabu, who was usually in the guise of a helmet, was instead walking around as a crotchety old man advising a new Dr. Fate.

The silly item names are, of course, my homage to Stan Lee's goofy alliteration in the early Strange Tales.

I decided he needed to "crash and burn" in the story to bring him down to the levels of a rookie hero starting out in Millennium City.

Kurlolo, Wizard-King of the Warped Dimension is inspired by The Dread Dormammu, Doctor Strange's extra-dimensional enemy.

The Conclave is inspired by Marvel's "non-team", The Defenders.

The Bewitching Bohemian is a nod to Johnny Beyond, Alan Moore's Dr. Strange homage from the wonderfully geeky, ill-fated 1963 series, y'dig, daddio?
