Quotation from Moxie's Profile
"You -so called- heroes! Really? ... Inept, incompetent and those color schemes some of you use...*bleh*. Anyway, I digress...I'm out and about, doin' some snoopin', turning over those little gross rocks no one likes'ta look under, so to speak. And whad'I find? Thats right, misallocation of funds and gross corruption down at the science lab. Hey, hey! I'm not about ta' say that Dr. S knows anythin' about it, but lets just say I uncovered somethin' thats gonna' make a difference 'round this city. Just you wait."
Brief History
Raised by blue-collar parents in the Westside of Millennium City, Gabrielle Swanson realized at an early age that education was a the ticket to improving her lot in life. An honors student during her time at Westside High School, Gabi excelled in all areas of academics, and was fortunate enough to find her calling, journalism, at an early age.
Accepted to Harvard on a full scholarship, Gabi immersed herself in the wondrous world of higher education. She graduated in three years with a dual major in Journalism and Literature. Fate soon struck, on the day of her graduation she learned her father was laid off, forgoing a lucrative job offer in New York City she returned home to work for The Millennium City Free Press.
Moxie on the hunt for evil-doers, and maybe a Pulitzer
Now home, and with an expanded worldview, Gabi became increasingly disgruntled with the going-ons in Millennium City, particularly with the so-called rise in the "superhero" population. As a reporter for The Millennium City Free Press she found ample opportunity to investigate the dirty secrets of the superhero population, she even want so far as publishing a rather tabloid-esque blog under the pseudonym, Moxie. During one such extra-curricular story she uncovered some shady business down at the Renaissance Center Science Lab. During her investigation something inside her snapped, and she decided that if no one was able to keep the streets safe from crime and supervillains, it would be up to her to do the job. She procured various items from the lab under the cover of night and went home; that night she assumed the vigilante moniker, Moxie, and things would never be the same.
Roleplaying Hooks
- was a popular student at Westside High School in Millennium City
- speaks in a peculiar accent, bordering on complete butchery of the English language, which belies her natural ability to craft beautiful written prose
- sometimes seen followed by a re-animated cyborg vampire aptly known as GoreTrample (backstory incoming)
- extremely cautious of her secret identity due to her torn moral dilemma of technically stealing the tech she uses from the Ren Cen Science Center
- currently lives at home to help make ends meet
- sister is currently a runaway
- actively participates in the Hero Games as Moxie, its her way of showing her silent contempt for the "cape types"
