Parabola
Soaring high above the extensive and varied terrain that was Monster Island, Vitality looked down as he scanned the forest below. He continued to search until he saw what he was looking for; a distinct flash of a group of yellow and green clad individuals caught Vitality’s attention through the foliage. He descended slightly in order to get a better look; the VIPER Squad were transporting an item through the forest below. It seemed to be some sort of relatively large device, the metal device sported the insignia of VIPER and was strapped to a hovering transportation device, its four jets active and propelling it forward at a slow rate. Vitality assessed the situation before moving in; he hovered over the group, noting the number of VIPER personnel on the ground.
The transportation device was being guarded by several VIPER Soldiers, a couple of VIPER Enforcers and three Red Guard Knife Fighters. Vitality reached up and activated his com-link, hovering just out of sight of the VIPER entourage.
“Hey guys, I’ve been contacted by the D.o.D, as if the recent breakout wasn’t enough of a problem it looks like something VIPER’s up to in Monster Island is making them nervous, so I’m just about to put a stop to it. Nothing I can’t handle.”
“Alright, because it looks like we have a situation in Downtown with Destroids; Joule, Kr'anri, Old Man Sarge and I are going to help out.” Cavalier responded.
“Vit, let us know when you’ve finished, it’s entirely possible we’ll need the help.” Joule chipped in
“Alright, I’ll be as fast as I can. Keep me updated.” Vitality replied.
He clicked off the com-link and turned his attention to the group of VIPER soldiers who had now entered a particularly dense area of forest. Vitality descended into the group, his sudden arrival creating a minor shockwave to ripple out from the area where he landed. The shockwave put several VIPER agents off balance and caused mass hysteria amongst them. The soldiers scrambled up from the floor and fired wildly in his direction as they attempted to get their bearings. Vitality looked up as the VIPER Soldiers shots blazed past his face; he looked out of the corner of his eye and noticed a much larger VIPER Enforcer looking towards him. The Enforcer smashed his closed fist into his chest; the VIPER symbol on his chest activated, its eyes glowed red as it released the dangerous Draysha serum into the various tubes connected to his torso. The tubes filled with the red gas, causing his muscles to bulge and he unleashed a powerful feral shout as he charged towards Vitality.
The VIPER Soldiers fired their Pulson Weapons at Vitality, the impacts serving as little more than an annoyance to Vitality as he partially ignored it and turned his attention to the oncoming threat. The VIPER Enforcer quickly came within punching distance and took a fast swing for Vitality. He was fast but Vitality was faster; Vitality caught the Enforcers fist, stopping it mid swing, he slammed his fist into the Enforcer’s gut and tossing him in the direction of the VIPER Soldiers who were still firing their weapons in his direction. The bulk of the Enforcer careered into the group of VIPER Soldiers, pinning three out of the five down under the sheer weight of the unconscious Enforcer.
As Vitality engaged the two remaining VIPER Enforcers, three of the Red Guard VIPER Agents, climbed up the trees either side of his location; they unsheathed their swords, just as Vitality slammed his knee into the jaw of the enforcer to his right, they jumped down brandishing their swords, slashing wildly in the air. Vitality looked up just in time to avoid the incoming aerial assault; he flew out of the way as the Red Guard fighters landed on the ground. He faced them and clapped his hands together with enough force to generate a minor seismic wave, the wave ripped towards the Red Guard trio, knocking them into unconsciousness. Vitality looked around to the remaining VIPER agents; one of the three enforcers was out cold with three helpless VIPER Soldiers pinned beneath him. The other two enforcers got up and stood either side of Vitality, he looked on as the two remaining VIPER Soldiers had their Pulson weapons trained on him.
He squinted slightly as he noticed their helmet visors were changing color from their usual dark visor which was now taking on an orange hue to them as they activated some sort of function on the helmets. The VIPER Soldiers seemed to be waiting for something, Vitality stepped forward and a sudden explosion right in front of him, he raised his hands in order to shield his face from the explosion as a dark green gas spread around him in a thick swarm, completely blocking out his surroundings. He attempted to hold his breath and escape the gas; it swarmed all around and over him, stinging his eyes, and irritating his exposed skin, his lungs burned with the need for oxygen and he gave in, taking in a gulp of air and the ever present noxious dark green gas. It swirled around him menacingly and he began to cough violently, his whole body shuddering as the gas seemed to have a detrimental effect on him.
Suddenly his whole body tensed as his insides seemed to explode with white hot pain. He screwed his eyes shut momentarily as he fought against the urge to cry out in pain, gritting his teeth. A powerful blow to his side only served to exacerbate the internal pain, he attempted to get up as he looked up and around, noting the distinct orange visors of the VIPER Agents piercing the thick veil of dark green gas surrounding him. He struggled to look around, attempting to stand up only to be shot down by a well-aimed Pulson blast to the back of his knee, he fell towards the ground before being dragged back up by another Enforcer, a solid draysha infused fist smashed into his stomach, knocking all the air out of him as he dropped to the ground. The assault didn’t stop as more Pulson blasts crashed into Vitality’s form, the once annoying stinging pain, amplified at least tenfold. He buckled and curled slightly in on himself;
“Heh, not feeling so super now are ya, PUNK!” Jeered one of the Enforcers
The Enforcer slammed his foot into Vitality’s back; the continued assault from all sides had him in an overwhelming state of crippling pain. His vision was slowly starting to blur and darken around the edges as he struggled to remain conscious. Vitality looked around, hardly able to move as the dark green gas slowly abated. The dark, yet full chuckle of a vaguely familiar voice drifted onto the scene. Vitality turned towards the voice, a tall figure became clearer as the dark gas withdrew, tendrils of it still winding their way into his respiratory system. Vitality looked up and recognised the owner of the voice immediately.
It was Teleios.
Using what little strength he had left, Vitality focused and lifted himself into the air, using his leftt hand to activate his com-link;
"Guys....I need help...it's Tel" He started
Vitality was cut off as a large hand locked onto his right ankle and yanked him out of the air, smashing him back down to the ground, his jaw connected with the ground solidly and he winced in pain.
"Vitality?" Cavalier replied
“El’sai…Vit? Vitality what’s going on?” Asked Joule
"Guys, go find him" Sarge stated.
Vitality felt for his com-link and eyed it a few feet from him, he reached out to retrieve it but a bronze boot quickly crushed it underfoot, silencing his team’s concerned voices.
Teleios slowly circled Vitality’s weakened form slowly, his blue eyes shining with the promise of evil intentions. He launched into a monologue;
“I assume your inferior mind is struggling to comprehend what is going on now? Yes, naturally it would. You’ll find it rather impossible at this moment in time to understand, but I’ll gladly enlighten you. I was offered a splendid deal by your government in order to engineer something to humble you. And of course, being the Perfect Man means that all my works are, well, perfect. I have glorious plans for your genetic material David, perfect plans. I warned you all those years ago that we’d cross paths again! And. Here. We. Are! This deal could not have come at a better time; it was the perfect opportunity to sweeten the deal with VIPER. That’s not to say I was particularly worried about my own competence…”
As the gas continued to take its toll on his system, the white hot, fiery pain spread from his chest to the rest of his body, ravaging his mind as he struggled to remain conscious. Teleios’ grandiose voice fading out quickly as his vision was enveloped by the darkness of unconsciousness.
“…and naturally I am the superior one in all facets of…” Teleios continued
One of the VIPER Agents coughed pointedly and Teleios looked down to see Vitality’s unconscious form and a thin smile stretched across his face. He signalled to the VIPER Enforcer to load Vitality onto the transport, once secured to the transport, Teleios and the VIPER agents left the forest clearing, headed towards Teleios Labs.
