Pistoljack is a pistol stuntwoman and cowgirl. Once part of a travelling gunplay troupe, her circumstances changed after it was forced out of business by the southwestern sensation of Snake Gulch. Having gained years of experience travelling on her own and mastering her skills with lasso and akimbo pistols, she has turned her reputations around from a simple performer to a expert marksman and hero of the deserts.

Origins

Performance Life

Ellie Jackson, Age 9, showing off her mastery of the lasso in the Eight Rings tours.

Born into a travelling performance group, Ellie Jackson was well-known at a young age for her mastery of using the lasso. Her fellow performers, other members and cousins of the Jackson family, combined their skills with guns, horseback stunts, and acrobatics, to become the travelling group known as Eight Rings. Famous all across Texas and other southwestern states, it was quite the hit, and Ellie continued to do her time in the group, enjoying every moment of it.

When she became 6, Eight Rings was then challenged by the roboticist Tyrell Donaldson. the young and brash Dr. Donaldson claimed he would make a reconstruction of the west, in an all-new park known as Snake Gulch. Eight Rings initially approached Donaldson, saying they could lend their skills to do performances for the park, but he immediately refused, claiming the stunts would be "too dangerous for any normal stuntsmen". Years passed, and as Donaldson constructed his park, Eight Rings continued to enjoy financial success.

Several years later, in the late 1970s, Snake Gulch opened in northern New Mexico to glorious fanfare. With that, the opening revealed the park's trade secret - Robots. By using these replica mechanical men, the park was able to put on shows of unreal quality, with precision and immersion that no performance group or sane person could reproduce. As the popularity of Snake Gulch snowballed, Eight Rings began to lose notoriety, and with it, its spectator turnout. By 1982, the troupe was forced out of business, and Ellie, still young, was sent off to school to pursue a more normal life.

Education

Inaugurated into the Fort Stockton Independent School District, Ellie quickly caught up on her education, and actually was able to be advanced a year ahead due to her great initial academic performance. However, it quickly became apparent that she was not exactly a hard worker in the new environment, and she often would be late to many of her classes and assignments. The truth of the matter was that she was miserably bored - school work was neither interesting nor challenging to her. She needed to find a way to occupy herself, and put her talents to work.

The experience was not all bad, however. By the time she was 14, she had made friends with Carl Stanson, a young hunter and gun collector. As it turned out, Carl actually was a fan of Ellie's old act with Eight Rings, and after exchanging a bit of pleasantries, decided to go out together to hunt on the plains. Ellie, Carl, and several other friends of his, went out on a warm spring night to shoot at game birds. While Carl's friends were initially reluctant to accept Ellie, it slowly became apparent that she was getting the most kills - especially surprising, considering that this was apparently her first time using a gun.

Despite the time she was enjoying with her new hunting friends, she was still stagnating in her studying, and her parents were taking notice. To make it up to them, Ellie declared that she would attempt to respark the interest in Eight Rings, by starting up a school-based version of the troupe. Though a bit dubious, they agreed to let her try and pitch it to the school council. The council, in turn, denied her the liberty, stating it would be too dangerous for their students - especially if live gunfire was involved. At the time, it wasn't exactly unheard of that Ellie was a bit of a gun nut, and many of the faculty looked upon her as a threat. This request only served to further cement that predisposition.

By the time she was 17, Ellie had become a natural with the pistol. She continued to hang out with Carl and his gang, convincing them to go after more and more ambitious game each time. Over the years, of course, she had managed to train them up into shape, and now most of the boys could easily hit fast game and small targets from several yards. During this time, however, she had managed to gain some enmity from a hermit on the plains: Roadkiller, a strange mutated possum gunman, ambushed the hunters one night on their way back to town. With his shotgun, he was able to kill one of the boys, and severely injured two others, one being Carl. His massacre was fortunately stopped by Ellie, using her gun to wound him and force him to flee on his motorbike.

Roadkiller: Southern possum bandit and biker.

The incident would have likely subsided with minimal outcry, had it not been for the fact that the children had been chased to the school grounds by Roadkiller. Despite it being the middle of the night, and Ellie having fired her gun out of self-defense, the council did not take her use of weaponry lightly, and decided to expel her. Though her family and close friends were devastated by this, Ellie shrugged it off, claiming that she wasn't suited for that sort of life. The incident that had happened the night before, however, made her realize that the west was not nearly as safe as the school and her parents had made it out to be. After considerable deliberation, she decided it would be best if she attempted to net a position as law enforcement - which went as well as one could assume for a teenage girl without her high school diploma. When questioned about her intentions for joining the force, she was quickly turned down, even accounting her impressive skills, since the police were not convinced that she was responsible or tame enough to use those skills correctly. This hardly stopped her, however. To prove her worth, she set her eyes on Roadklller, borrowed her mother's horse, and set out into the plains to search for him.

Debut

Following a trail of various dead and battered animals on the road, Ellie didn't have a hard time tracking down Roadkiller. She soon came across his lair; a cave in the cliffs, where loud yelling noises burst out of. Ellie, cautious, but determined, headed in, her pistol in hand. The cave unmistakably belonged to the possum bandit - the interior was adorned with various garage implements, with wrenches, pipes, and chains laying and hanging about the place. The first things Ellie noticed, however, were Roadkiller, his ruined bike, and an unknown face - A bizarre, half-horse creature that Roadkiller has strung up in captivity using Kendrium chains. Ellie quickly overheard about how it had managed to wreck Roadkiller's bike with a single, mighty smash.

While Roadkiller was distracted with trying to get vengeance on the creature, Ellie made her move, starting by crippling Roadkiller with a shot to his knee. This certainly got his attention, and lead him to retaliate immediately with his shotgun. Seeking to get the advantage in range and accuracy, as well as better visibilty, Ellie backed out from the cave. Unfortunately, she didn't expect Roadkiller to give chase on one of his bikes. With the bandit being able to quickly close distance, Ellie struggled to survive, narrowly diving out of the way of his slug shots and charges. His assault was ruthless, and even injury withstanding, he was skilled enough to make his shots count, landing a fatal blast on Ellie's horse. Ellie was swift, however, and was able to dodge the biker for long enough to get back into the cave and unchain the creature. He gave Ellie a repeat showing of what he did to Roadkiller's last bike.

Immobilized, Roadkiller pleaded for mercy. Ellie was prepared to end him right there, but was convinced otherwise after remembering her feedback from the police. She took the remaining chains inside Roadkiller's garage to bind him, hanging him by his feet above the entrance of his garage. There still remained the issue of how she would get back to town, as well as how she would break the bad news to her mother - at which point the unknown creature offered some advice. Introducing himself as Whitehammer, the hybridized equine barbarian agreed to help Ellie out by letting her ride him back. Arriving back on her strange new companion, she promptly offered her recount to the police, who even followed her back to Roadkiller's base to get proof. Showing her responsibility and competence, she was (still reluctantly) accoladed as an honorary member of the local police, and later, the Texas Rangers division.

After 3 years of handing several cases successfully, using her pistol deftly and without injuries, she became known as the hero Pistoljack, and began pursuing more threatening incidences. Armed with her twin pistols, and accompanied by her mighty, albeit strange, horse, she proves to be one of the most popular and reliable heroes in the Southwest.

Reserved but friendly, Pistoljack is much more of a do-er than a talker. She's not afraid to do drastic or dramatic things, as clearly proven by her past in performance. This is also coupled with a cautious and collected demeanor in the face of danger, and a surprisingly quick wit. Even if she dropped out of school, she has very good street-smarts, and has picked up on most of her skills just by watching others. This all is capped off with a decisive approach to problems, as she knows when and how to commit herself quickly to any decisions she might have to make in the moment.

As mentioned before, however, she is actually a bit shy, and becomes uncomfortable when having to speak with people one-on-one. Despite her expertise and precision in her craft, she also is reportedly quite bad at keeping track of a standard schedule. There is a certain spontaneity that comes with this; in situations where the answer might not be clear, she resorts to working her way through a problem with a 'solution' she might have made up on the spot. Finally, she isn't the best judge of danger for others, and usually isn't savvy to the fact that they might not be capable of doing what she might ask them to do. This is much more a result of subconscious thinking than anything else.

Combat Specifications

Quick-witted, strong, and armed with high-caliber pistols, Pistoljack can handle herself in practically any situation, at any range.
Physically, Pistoljack is very well kept-up. Having had 5 years to hone her physique, she now is quite a bit stronger and robust than most average bodybuilders. This is also coupled with her impressive aerobic abilities - she can keep up a running pace for around 3 hours, and has been seen sprinting as fast as 18 miles per hour. To get to a battle quickly, however, she usually travels by horseback riding. Though she can (and will, if needed) ride and tame practically any horse, her steed of choice has always been Capalle Whitehammer.

She is very skilled in combat, having learned CQC techniques to confront enemies who get too close. Combined with her quick reflexes and evasive skills, this allows her to effectively command any brawls she might get locked up in. For all other situations, however, she uses her Twin Magnums - Twin revolvers, each with 8-shot chambers. She has specially modified her pistols to automatically recock after each shot, allowing her to empty her rounds in as little as 0.73 seconds. The shots, being of high caliber, can do some nasty damage, but also come with an impressive kickback. For most of the part, Pistoljack can adjust for the recoil, but this does prove to limit her firing speed a bit. It becomes another reason she likes to fight her foes in close-range, since it allows her to fire at full speed with only a very low chance of missing targets.

She has a tendency to overexert herself in combat. All too often, she has sustained some rather grisly wounds from melee weapons and other guns. While she is quite good at pulling through in a pinch, the damage can make her reckless, and most often, she has to take ample time to recover before she's back in full fighting shape.
