Personality

Tomoko's behaviour tends to be rather unpredictable, his love of scheming and trickery - coupled with over a thousand years of experience, makes him a rather quick thinker who sometimes indulges in what he does a little too often. He is very playful and outgoing, having a great love for all things humorous and merry, but always looking out for himself. He has very little care about what 'fun' is to other people, and often tries to entertain himself to everyone else's expense, often times targeting those with little to no sense of humour. He often indulges in verbal exchanges, usually without any regard for timing. He sees nothing wrong with striking up a conversation mid-battle, often times caring little if anyone's concentration is thrown off. While around others, he often tends to try letting his charming side out, depending on his mood at the time, and will often times see nothing wrong with passing inappropriate or wayward comments, simply out of curiosity as to what will happen.

When faced with combat and able to use his blade skills, he tends to hang back. Fully confident in his skills, even if his foe is superior, he tends to rely more on embarrassing his foe then outright harming them. While very well trained in swordplay, his tongue is even sharper, and often times he tries to make use of negotiation and manipulation in order to win fights for him. He often times enjoys sharing cryptic words of wisdom in order to make a point, lull a foe as they try to figure it out, or simply to confuse anyone that happens to be in earshot.

History

From Dynasties Past

Feudal Japan was simply one massive unsown field for Tomoko. His general duty of protecting the crops and spending his off-time playing nasty pranks on many a village gave him plenty of ways to tend to his crop. Reaping his reward was always a laugh for this very devious servant of Inari - for he believed : Why can one not enjoy themselves while on duty?. Sometimes he would bring the gift of laughter to a downtrodden populous, while other times he would have his own laugh - at another person's expense. He would often mix amongst them, setting elaborate plans and japes, and was not above using his wiles (and his generous range of forms) to seduce hapless folk in order to put them in even more pressing and embarrassing situations - or situations ripe for him to borrow some of their essence. He also spent much of his time disguised as ronin, having developed a knack and love for swordplay and practicing it - honing his skills immensely over the years. As time went by, his morality began to sway further and further away from benign, and some of his mischievous ways displeased Inari. As punishment for his behaviour, his tails stripped from four to two and he was banished from Japan until he would learn his lesson. Under the threat of having his hoshi no tama taken away, Tomoko reluctantly left Japan, saddened and humiliated, and isolated himself from the world - finding a secure place to practice his meditation and blade skills, honing himself into a weapon. Still very well retaining a large portion of his original gifts and powers, he also spent his time playing more and more tricks as he toured Asia.

The New World

Many years after his exile, Tomoko was still up to his antics, though he kept a low profile. During his adventures, he had encountered plenty of adversaries standing between him and greater power. His greatest foe yet was none other then a mighty servant of Sun Wukong - Huang-fu. Having stolen many magical artefacts from the kitsune, Huang-fu became Tomoko's arch-nemesis, and the two would often duke it out in competitions of trickery, skill and even in combat. The two seemed to follow each other quite closely, both attempting to amass enough power to beat the other while trying to out-wit the other. Eventually, Tomoko had learned that his foe had travelled far west overseas, having sensed the events in Millennium city that lead to the creation of the Qliphotic Tear. The otherworldly energy had attracted Huang-fu to the city in order to cause a little chaos and investigate this power himself. Tomoko, not one to decline both a chance to defeat his rival and a chance to adventure elsewhere, could wait no longer. He plotted his own way to America, and though he arrived late, he managed to get right on his rival's trail. Having learned of the super-heroes that helped bring peace around the world, Tomoko decided that he fancied himself one, and adopted the alias Ronin Fox. Knowing that he would be busy for many decades, he began to get settled in - knowing very well that this was going to be a very fun ride.

Abilities and Powers

Mystical Properties

Illusionary Magic

He has the ability to create realistic illusions out of thin air, able to mimic people, objects and lighting. While some of these have a degree of realism to them, they could be easily distorted or dismissed, and would have some sort of inconsistencies.

Shapeshifting

He has the ability to change his form into that of any matter of object or being. He could easily make himself look like a handsome man, a beautiful woman, an elderly man or an innocent child at will. While in these forms, though, there are a few things that could give him away. In any given form - his fox tails are visible, and thus must be hidden well as to not be noticed. While looking at a mirror or at his shadow, one can see his true form. Another way of being able to indentify him as by his hoshi no tama, which he carries with him at all times.

Rice Magic

He has the power to control a magical bag of rice, able to use this rice in order to create weak dummy versions of himself, superheat it and burn whatever it covers, and thousands of other uses, only limited by one's imagination.

Space-time warping and elemental magic

Amongst his powers is the ability to warp space-time to a VERY limited degree, able to invert gravity and float foes into the air, or teleport himself (and some objects) about at will. He also has control over fire and lightning, able to throw singing fireballs, or direct lightning at a foe from his maw or tails. All this through the use of fox-fire.

Spiritual Vampirism

One ability he has is the ability to drain one's spirit or life-force through sexual contact. Though he does not abuse this power and never uses it to drain a fatal amount of energy from his victims, he makes use of this power regularly to gain any of his lost energy.

Hoshi no tama

His most important possession is his hoshi no tama, an onion shaped ball of fox-fire that is kept around his tail or in his mouth while not in human form. It is a sacred symbol of Inari he carries with him at all times, and also carries a sizable amount of his magical power, and also contains his soul.

Combat

Blades

Having had 1700 years to practice and hone his skills, Tomoko wields his Wakizashi and Katana with immense skill. Forged out of divine , imbued steel and often times wreathed in his fox-fire, these blades are very sturdy and very deadly. His knowledge of swordplay easily allowing him to outfight many mortal swordsmen and humiliate them in the process. Able to swing them with blistering speed and accuracy, they are his most prized possessions.

Throwing Weapons

When faced with needing to pierce things from a distance, he makes use of a set of steel shurikens he usually keeps laying about his person. Though they are in limited supply, he also has a fair amount of chained kunais he can use in order to be able to pull things closer to him.
