Physiology

Steel Chimera is a genetic hybrid with beast-like abilities and cybernetic upgrades, including power armor. His abilities include traveling at high speeds, speaking with animals, regenerating flesh, and regenerating energy rather efficiently. He has a number of natural talents associated with animal instinct, however he also has a wide variety of learned talents. For a full list, see the hero box. The phenomena that occurs when he regenerates his flesh can best be explained through a type of genetic mutation similar to cancer. One might call it smart cancer, for it only activates rapid cell growth upon damage and is able to stop itself. Animal instinct is strong enough that when injured his regenerative abilities can start to heal him instantly, sometimes even before damage is inflicted which causes a protective swell of skin to spawn at places where damage may occur.

Biography

Steel Chimera was one of many projects started by an organization known as "Mythical" who now are rumored to be a part of the terrorist cult, Viper. Steel Chimera was created through altering genetics, infusing animal DNA with human DNA (in this case Oliver Stiel was the test subject). Chimera works with performance enhancing microchips and various technological power suits., combining their strength and logistics in battle with his natural ability. The project eventually backfired on the organization, the group was unable to keep control of Chimera's power and he escaped, he then related his story to the US supreme court and several news sources, effectively shutting down the terrorist group working deep underground on US soil with the guise of a humanities group. There are many rumors circulating around the story, being that Chimera's case was a matter of national security much of the information went under wraps. Days after "Mythical" was shut down the scientists involved all vanished, this has been the source of several conspiracy theories. Chimera, after his trial refused to speak anymore of the incidents within the facility. Since then, the case has gone cold. Only weeks after the project was expelled, Chimera was granted full citizenship, upon receiving such he took to bounty hunting and has become relatively successful. Years after Chimera involved himself with the GenCorp security division Genesis League, but was far too agressive for the group. Eventually they parted ways. After his semi-emotional break from Genesis League, Chimera set out to find himself and when he returned he was a changed man, though what had changed is still a mystery. Chimera was hired by the founder of GenCorp to lead a new rouge group, heroes right off the streets whose reform was made the responsibility of Chimera alone, he has spent much time preparing his group. Now that Bloom is gone he has been forced into looking for other funding.

Short Bio:

He was once a Lieutenant in VIPER but geneticists have turned him into a near perfect weapon using what remained of Chimera's records and research from geneticist Teleios's records. Pinpoint got his nickname for being one of the top sharpshooters at the academy, he was also a perfect survivalist and generally a perfect candidate to receive such a power. He now hunts Steel Chimera under direct orders from the leader of project Mythic. Unfortunately for VIPER Pinpoint has alternative plans, no one could have predicted it but the components they used to create him also unleashed the evil that is dark breed into him.

Journal Passages

Journal Entry, March 25: Year of the Golden Tiger.

I always knew I couldn't trust them, but it is behind me now. It's another bump in the road, I'm not surprised. I just need to focus on getting back what is mine, at whatever cost, and if that means destroying them as well I don't have issue with it. It seems this world is full of enemies, no friends, I learned that lesson a long time ago and I was stupid to even question the notion. From stolen records and information as far as I can tell this villain group Abbadon seems to be fairly close to Viper, I don't know what kind of power the wield, but with all of the stolen data they have now I fear I may face a doubleganger. I need sleep now, it has eluded me recently, this feeling of anxiety persists.

Journal Entry, March 27: Year of the Golden Tiger.

I'm injured badly, for some reason I can't regenerate, I can only attribute this to Tysons predictions. My cells are eating each other, dark breed is taking over. This could be my final journal entry, this could be my last word before I change completely. Mother, father, if you ever read this I wished things had turned out differently, I wish I had been stronger. Now I'm going to become a beast, forever, and I wish I could see you just one more time.... I love you both, it's time for my final stand... time for those bastards to pay.

Journal Entry, November 19: Year of the Golden Tiger

Much time has passed since I've written here, I find it necessary because I feel my life may very well be in danger once again. My parents were never with Viper, as it turns out they were moved to a camp where their memories were erased. When I found them they didn't even know who I was, they ran in fear. I'm not sure why, but my gut tells me something is wrong here. I have to investigate and I have to find the ether or else my time on this planet may come to an abrupt end. I won't be writing in this journal again for awhile.
