PART 2

Psirus slowly opened his eyes, he looked at himself and breathed a sigh of relief as he realised there was nothing to worry about. The rest of his team mates were standing to the side, he looked up and around him taking in the fairly large room they had transported to.

“I’m glad I don’t suffer from motion sickness…or that could have been a lot worse…” He mumbled

After a barely audible beep, a crisp, cheery masculine voice sounded above them:

“Good afternoon Delta, Miss Summerstone is through the doors to your left. Have a pleasant day.”

“Um, thanks.” frowned Psirus as he looked around.

“Certainly.” It replied.

Cavalier frowned slightly as he pointed upwards;

“Was that voice around the last time we came here?” he asked.

Vitality thought for a moment before shaking his head in reply, he walked towards the interlocking sets of doors to his left with Sarge and Cavalier following behind him. A sharp high pitched whistling seemed to erupt from the corner of the room; Psirus whipped round to see a rapidly solidifying humanoid figure seemingly connected to a large spheroid shape. Psirus turned back around, following his team mates. The lab doors pulled apart revealing Mentella, she waved away a holographic display before giving the team her full attention.

“Please come in, apologies for the delay, we had some interference.”

“Hi Mentella, it’s been a while.” Psirus smiled

“Indeed it has, I would have preferred to meet with you under less pressing circumstances, however it is good to see you again.” she nodded.

The Delta members filed past her into the surface level laboratory and were almost instantly set upon by a crowd of small flying robots; they flew around the Delta members, beeping, flashing lights at them. Psirus shifted uncomfortably as one particularly inquisitive robot almost flew into his face and batted it away. Cavalier smirked as Psirus glared at the smaller robot.

“They aren’t going to hurt you, nothing to be worried about.”

Psion blinked rapidly as the spots of white light slowly diminished from his vision. He looked towards a semi-conscious Joule; she lay curled up within his construct. He stepped off the pad and made his way through the lab doors where Sarge, Vitality, Psirus and Cavalier were conversing. Mentella stood in the door way as he approached; a look of acute concern evident on her face as her voice invaded his thoughts.

<How are you?> ~ Mentella

Psion gave a tired smile and drew closer to her;

<You know…that would have been a lot easier and less painful for me if you hadn’t insisted on all these psychic barriers to ‘protect others’ from my natural ability. I was close to passing out.> ~ Psion.

<I know how you can be around people; I’d rather not have had a situation developing between you and anyone, especially when there are more important things to deal with. Speaking of, Joule’s containment cell is just up there. If Elyisaus attacked you on Earth he’s more desperate than I thought.> ~ Mentella.

<I agree, I’ll secure her. Hey, at least promise me you’ll remove them?> ~ Psion.

<Once Sai’edra is secured I’ll remove them. If Elyisaus does come here, it is best if we are all capable of fighting back.> ~ Mentella.

Psion’s eyes widened slightly; a strange look flashed across his features for a moment.

<Does that mean you’ll remove yours?> ~ Psion.

<No. That won’t be necessary. Ever.> ~ Mentella.

Psion’s face fell and shook his head, rolling his eyes at Mentella. He lifted himself and Joule into the air and flew upwards to another set of interlocking metal doors on the level above. He sighed as a few of the Delta members looked at him.

“Before any of you ask, yes. I am taking Sai’edra to a safe location.” Psion stated.

Cavalier eyed Psion as he left the room. Vitality turned to Mentella as Psion left.

“We’re all here, well some of us, how much do you know about Elyisaus? Any weaknesses?” asked Vitality.

“High Consul members are enhanced with cosmic energy in addition to their natural abilities. This creates a ‘cosmic enhancement’ if you will, boosting their natural abilities to what can be referred to as ‘god-like’ status. Elyisaus, based on the information I’ve been able to find, has the ability to manipulate time itself. He’s one of the newest members to the High Consul, so I’d assume his abilities have not been fully empowered to cosmic status. As for weaknesses, the lack of cosmic status could potentially cause an imbalance in his abilities, outside of that I’m not aware of any particular weaknesses that he may have.” replied Mentella

The sudden and intense light from the teleportation pad filled the room as a pillar of white light shot down onto the pad revealing Kr’anri.

“Kr’anri received the message and is here.” she nodded

“Hey Kr’anri, glad to see you could get here.” smiled Cavalier

Kr’anri grinned at Cavalier and greeted the rest of her team. Vitality turned to Kr’anri;

“Kr’anri, do you remember anything about the ‘Golden man’ Elyisaus?” he asked.

Kr’anri’s expression changed as she looked up at Vitality, she screwed her eyes shut as she thought, before shaking her head;

“No, but Kr’anri does know this situation is hopeless…Kr’anri knows this…”

“Even though the odds might be stacked against us, do you expect us to just do nothing?”

“I’m with Vit on this, we can’t just sit back because of what you saw, there has to be a way to fight this.” nodded Cavalier.

Kr’anri stared at them both and sighed.

“Kr’anri does not know if there is.”

She walked towards the wall and slouched against it and sat quietly on the ground, she looked up to Mentella momentarily before looking back down.

---

Su examined the displays in front of her; all shielding systems for the Moon Base laboratory seemed to be online. She pulled up a display for Sector 1’s lab area to see Psion fly into view, attempting to place Joule within the secure containment environment a few meters away. Su dipped her fingers into the holographic projection and brought it round as she turned herself the other way; she tapped on the lower part of the display, transforming it into a view of the containment cell’s interior. Su frowned as she examined it carefully; she picked up a small device and put it in the palm of her hand, bringing it to her face as she spoke;

“Psion, make sure the absorption shells are tuned to the maximum absorption settings, before setting her down. They’re currently running at twenty percent capacity, not sure why though. I’ll ask J’asira.”

Psion looked around in confusion for a moment as he tried to pin point the voice;

“Sai’edra’s been weakened, she’s nowhere near her normal power levels.”

“Yes, but she still has the potential to either drain the energy from everything in this complex or release enough energy to blow everything up. So…absorption shells at maximum capacity.”

Psion raised an eyebrow as he looked at Joule. He stepped out of the specialized room, and guided the cyan sphere out as he left. A strangely familiar voice invaded his thoughts as he opened his telepathic abilities for communication. He soon realised it was Joule:

<Thank you. I’m not exactly in a position to talk much; I’m trying harder than ever to keep my energy contained so I don’t release energy or attempt to drain this place. Been a while since I was this…free.> ~ Joule

<Not a problem. My als-, ahem, Mentella and Su have informed me that this place should keep you contained securely, away from Elyisaus.> ~ Psion

Joule looked up at him she smiled slightly as her form shifted within the sphere. Psion pushed his hands into the control panel to his left and tapped on the screen, sliding the interactive levers on the screen to the top.

“Do…you find it difficult sometimes?” he asked.

Joule looked up, her features twisting into a look of confusion.

“What do you mean?” she replied

“Living on Earth, it…the people…it is considerably different from life at our home.”

Joule propped herself up on one arm;

“Coming to Earth…is probably the most positive thing to happen to me. I mean that too.”

“What about your family? Your desire to connect?” he asked

“You haven’t spoken to Mentella about me have you? My family mostly hates me, they’d rather see me die, it’s hard to deal with but…being here…it’s like it all melts away. You have no idea regarding my desire to connect, when you lose the connection with your family, it changes you.”

Psion looked at her before looking away, nodding slowly. He turned to the containment cell as several of the dome shaped constructs inside the room hummed softly as he adjusted the settings. The several dome shaped constructs shifted before melting into the surroundings, leaving a large comfortable room for Joule to stay in. Psion turned back to Joule as she sat up within the sphere.

“If it’s alright, I’d like to actually like to walk in there, instead of being carried.” Joule said quietly.

“I understand energy forms are difficult to control if not engaged regularly. Are you certain you can control it?” Psion asked cautiously

Joule hesitated before nodding twice.

“Alright.” He nodded.

Psion’s eyes flashed momentarily as the spherical construct mostly vanished into thin air, leaving a small disc where Joule still sat. She looked down at the floor before looking up and lifting herself into the air surrounded by a brief crackle of blue energy. She entered the room and looked back at Psion. He gave her a small smile before the metal plates shifted between them forming a door with a circular glass panel. Joule smiled through the glass and turned away.

---

Su closed the feed from the surface level lab and turned to face the shielding console again, she sat back in the chair as she divided her attention between the console and the robot head from her former robot security guard. After a few minutes of poking around inside the head of the robot, Su looked up towards the shielding console; the atmospheric force field monitor flickered briefly before showing that all shields were still working at 100%. Su frowned and brought up the atmospheric force field display and a large shadow cast itself over the console.

Su’s eyes widened and she whipped around in shock.

“El’sai…” she breathed

She was face to face with Elyisaus.

“Eka’sae.” he replied.

He hovered a few feet from her, a predatory grin cracking across his face, he drew back slightly, made a fist with his hand, and shot out a small orb of pale golden energy, the orb rapidly expanded as it hurtled towards her. Su acted quickly, generating a force field as the orb encompassed her slowing down the time stream around her to a halt. Elyisaus tilted his head slightly sneering at Su’s time locked form. He flew closer to inspect his work; her force field looked almost fluid as it was frozen mid formation. He shook his head and sighed, he turned around dramatically, the robes forming a cape of sorts as they seemed to unfurl. Elyisaus snapped his fingers before vanishing in a swirl of golden light. The sphere around Su exploded violently, the resultant concussive blast knocking her unconscious. The semi formed force field around her unconscious form flickered slightly before dissipating.

---

Psion sat down next to Mentella, her eyes focused on the Delta members as she spoke;

“Provided that Elyisaus is able to reason with us, it is my intention to take Sai’edra to Xen myself, all the necessary documentation has been prepared for her trial. I’ll need to--” she started.

Psion frowned as he leaned towards Mentella, as he did his eyes went wide as her eyes met his. Kr’anri had jumped up from where she sat and looked around frantically.

“What is it?” asked Psirus.

Mentella stood up and looked to Delta, a look of concern and frustration marred her features;

“Su’s psychic link just went dark…and something else…Elyisaus is here.”

Within moments of the words leaving Mentella’s mouth, a vortex of bright golden energy filled the centre of the room as an eight foot tall figure appeared. Elyisaus was enveloped in a flare of gold and white energy as he hovered silently in the centre of the room. His eyes burned brightly, his hands remained folded behind his back, a look of disdain clearly evident as he regarded the group of people in front of him. A swarm of robots appeared from all corners of the room, preparing to engage the intruder. Elyisaus quickly shoved his gauntlet into the air and activated it; the gauntlet released several radial pulses of green energy before drawing back to the gauntlet. The robots stilled and dropped to the floor. Elyisaus narrowed his eyes and gave a predatory smile as he locked eyes with Mentella. He inched closer to Mentella, who was suddenly shielded physically by Psion; he stepped in front of her and glared at Elyisaus, unconsciously falling into a combative stance.

“Ka’deshr malkari soloinoe mak Sai’edra Eli’dahon. M’rka --” Elyisaus started

“Tqorvalen. Y’as’naphtali.” stated Mentella.

She gestured from behind Psion towards the Delta members in the room. Elyisaus raised an eyebrow, his lip curled in disgust but he drew back slightly. His left hand moved towards his neck as he brushed his fingertips across the softly glowing orb embedded in his uniform.

“What did he do?” asked Psirus.

“He released some sort of electromagnetic pulse I’d imagine…but the robots are active, just…incapable of doing anything. He’s just activated a translation program.” replied Psion.

“If it was an EMP how come my MPR’s weren’t affected?” Psirus asked.

“SILENCE!!” Elyisaus roared.

His eyes flashed dangerously before he inhaled deeply and placed his hand behind his back again.

“I am only speaking in this primitive language so that you humans can have a chance to comprehend the words I will so graciously reward you with. I am Elyisaus Krolos and High Consulman to the Xenian Empire. I have lowered myself from my elevated position, to travel to this…diseased rock. In order to bring the criminal life form to account for her deplorable crimes. I find it peculiar you all seem to hold her so dear.”

His eyes narrowed considerably and his features twisted in disgust as he continued.

“I was planning to just rip her from your world, a procedure that has no effect on you or your piteous species. But you have forced my hand…and now I have been forced to surround myself with lesser beings and traitorous Xenians in order to personally retrieve her. And to answer your question human; the disabler does not disable technology that is of no threat to the user.”

Cavalier tracked the High Consulman’s movements; his hands curling into tight fists as Elyisaus surveyed the room. Bright red energy swirled around Cavalier’s fists, shaping themselves into deadly blades which protruded from each of his knuckles. Sarge’s grip on his guns tightened as Elyisaus continued; The High Consulman turned to Psion and Mentella, his features displaying disapproval as he shook his head.

“Look at you both, look how far you’ve fallen. The fates must have truly despised you if you crashed here. If anything I admire your ability to stand breathing the same air as them, let alone reside within the antediluvian metallic scrap heaps they call cities.” he laughed.

“There is no need to insult the humans or us. My desire is that you stand down and we can discuss how to transport Sai’edra in a way which does not harm her at all. That was the way you should have handled this from the outset, instead of carrying out an attack on a level five planet.” Mentella replied.

Elyisaus turned to Mentella, the look of incredulity evident on his face.

“Your desire? YOUR DESIRE?! Since when do the desires of any non-High Consul member deserve to be brought forward for consideration or even uttered?”

Vitality flew up above his team until he was at eye level with Elyisaus;

“They deserve to be considered when they involve a member of our team. Sai’edra is -”

“Silence lesser being, I have not granted you permission to speak.” Elyisaus sighed, flicking his hand toward Vitality.

“You are not serious.”

Elyisaus ignored Vitality and turned his attention to Mentella, he inched closer towards her and Psion. Psion's frown deepened as Elyisaus began to talk.

“As for you Mentella, I have played your game long enough, you have succeeded in forcing me to have dealings with one of the most basal species in the known universe and for that you and your sisters will pay a price. Be assured of that.” Elyisaus continued.

Psion’s eyes narrowed as he took a step forward, the cyan energy around him taking on a darker hue as it flared dangerously. His teeth clenched tightly he could barely speak.

“Krolos. Back. Off. Now.” snarled Psion.

Cavalier looked towards Mentella who had stepped back from Psion, her eyes fixed on the series of sharp telekinetic constructs that were slowly forming behind Psion’s back.

“Yeah, I’m not standing for this guy’s shit, he’s annoying as hell. I’m taking this asshole down. He’s not taking Sai anywhere.” Cavalier growled. Elyisaus frowned and tilted his head slightly;

“You wish to pit your paltry power against that of Elyisaus?!”

Cavalier’s energy blades flashed and began to flare as his red eyes burned brightly. Mentella eyed the rest of the Delta members, who were all moments away from attacking. Elyisaus drew back as he chuckled at the Delta members, he turned to Psion and then watched as Mentella steeled her jaw as her eyes took on a magenta hue. Elyisaus’ eyes flared and his entire form seemed to glow as he shook his head slightly.

“I have no desire to continue conversing with traitors or the primitive ones. It is time to end this nonsense.” he spat.

Elyisaus drew back, as his hands curled into fists, golden and white energy swirled around each fist as he opened his mouth to speak.

“Fren'edris maka'l jezre'em, uthrae!!” he roared.

Everything seemed to happen at once; Psion launched his telekinetic weapons at Elyisaus, swiftly followed Sarge firing several shots. Vitality flew forward reaching towards Elyisaus; he saw out of the corner of his eye as Cavalier leapt forwards, his red energy claws gleaming in the harsh light. Psirus tuned his MPR’s and focused on Elyisaus.

“You enjoy causing pain? Have some of your own medicine you monster!” shouted Psirus.

Elyisaus flew back and waved his hand towards the group as a wave of golden energy spread out from him. Kr’anri’s eyes widened as she saw Elyisaus attack; she ran from her spot on the floor, dashing towards an open panel in the floor of the lab. The wave morphed into a dome as it encompassed the heroes, sealing them in an intense burst of light. The dome quickly enveloped its targets, slowing the stream of time around them to a complete standstill. Kr’anri’s eyes widened as she felt herself slowing down until everything around her stopped.

Elyisaus lowered his hands placing them behind his back as he drifted towards the imprisoned heroes, all frozen in time. He tilted his head as he admired his work; the heroes were held in various different poses; bullets froze locked in time as they attempted to fly towards their intended target, telekinetic weapons and energy blades glowed harshly as they remained static within the translucent golden dome. He faced Mentella’s figure frozen within the dome; her hands hovering on either side of her head.

“Disappointing. You have allied yourself with the lesser creatures. It is no matter; your sister has already been dealt with and soon the youngest will join her. But first, the criminal must be obtained.” Elyisaus grinned.

He turned his back on them and produced a small device from his left gauntlet. The device flew upwards, suddenly beeping loudly as shone a light towards the two interlocking doors labelled Sector 1. Elyisaus opened his palm and the device returned to him, slotting itself back into his gauntlet. He grinned slightly as he unleashed a titanic blast of energy at the door; a large circular section of the door seemed to vanish as Elyisaus placed his hands behind his back. He hovered forward before he came to the containment cell, at which the device made a high pitched sound. Elyisaus grinned widely. The small device morphed into a spheroid and attached itself to the wall, sending pulses of energy to the containment cell. Elyisaus outstretched his palm and placed it on the door as golden waves pulsated outwards rippling through and enveloping the door in a steady fashion.

---

Sai’edra’s eyes widened as a sudden power loss rushed through the containment cell followed by a series of minor explosions which seemed to indicate the absorption shells had short circuited. She watched as the door to her containment block glowed briefly before it began to deteriorate rapidly quickly turning from a cerulean to a pale grey colour within a matter of seconds. She clutched onto her necklace as she inched away from the door.

“J’as? Su? Is that you? What is going on?” she asked tentatively

The door crumbled in a heap, tiny grey dust clouds wafting upwards, obscuring her view. Sai’edra narrowed her eyes and flew into the sky, her bright blue energy form lighting up the entire room. At the lack of response Sai’edra’s hands curled into fists as her entire form crackled violently. A tell-tale bright golden light seemed to slice through the smoke in the air.

“Sai’edra Eli’dahon. J’esh mak shalei.” Elyisaus stated.

Sai’edra froze as she locked eyes with Elyisaus. He removed a brooch from his cowl and held it out towards her as he chuckled lightly; it flashed three times before a green vortex extended out of it, dragging Sai’edra towards it. Sai’edra fought against the vortex as it gained power soon ripping the metal panels from the containment cell; Sai’edra fired a blast of energy at Elyisaus and watched in shock as the blast was funnelled into the vortex; the vortex increased in volume and power. Sai’edra screamed as she was dragged into the vortex, imprisoning her inside the small circular brooch. He re-attached the brooch to his cowl and looked around at the contorted and twisted mess of metal and technology within the containment room; he smiled to himself before turning and leaving.

---

Techna flew with the pieces of the disassembled drone still held apart in the air; she motioned to each piece, scanning the technology attempting to discover what was interfering with the usual activity of her lab. An urgent alarm sounded on her armour, followed by the voice of her AI.

“J’asira. Trouble. My systems are – BEHIND! -”

“Z? Z? El’sai…”

Techna made a face as her AI cut out suddenly; she pulled up a holo-projection from her gauntlet as several alerts seemed to swarm onto the projection at once. Techna frowned as she realised her robotic assistance units had been deactivated, as well as several other system interferences. Her frown deepened as she reviewed the data streams coming from both, she carefully examined each one before the final word her AI had uttered echoed in her mind.

“Behind? My systems are anything but behind!”

Oh.

“Oh no.”

She whipped round; the disassembled drone pieces fell to the surface of the moon as she found herself staring right at Elyisaus.

“So. Y-you’re the one causing so much trouble.” She gulped.

Elyisaus touched the glowing orb on his neck piece.

“Why do you speak to me in this language? Are you not familiar with your own?”

Techna straightened her back, regaining a measure of confidence as she replied.

“Where is Sai’edra?” Techna frowned.

“The criminal is where she belongs, in a prison awaiting trial.” Elyisaus sneered.

“You have no right to-”

Elyisaus flew into a rage; throwing his arms around as he interrupted.

“I have EVERY right! YOU had no right to interfere with the situation; delaying my plans and ruining the process of removal. And for what?! All for nothing, I have Sai’edra now. Answer me this, with your sisters, the telekinetic and the lesser beings out of time…Who will save you?!”

Techna’s eyes widened as Elyisaus’ fists burned with bright cosmic energy, he raised them towards her and fired.

---

Su winced as she regained consciousness; she shook off the feeling of disorientation as she forced herself to focus on the different displays blaring at her. She looked towards the Sector 1 containment cell to see the display was offline and surface level lab feed showed a giant golden dome surrounding the Delta members, Mentella and Psion.

“No…!”

Su’s eyes were quickly drawn to the moving shapes on the display to her left; she drew it up as something twisted in her stomach. She frowned as she fully focused on the image; Su dragged it closer and zoomed in on the live feed, her stomach churned as her fears were quickly confirmed as she watched Techna’s shield matrix take the full brunt of Elyisaus’ attack. Su bolted from the lab, forming a disc shaped force field underneath her as she propelled herself towards her youngest sister and the enraged High Consulman.

---

Techna’s shield matrix was just about holding steadily against the furious torrent of energy unleashed by Elyisaus. Her eyes were screwed shut as she focused on keeping the matrix from dropping; constantly repairing it as each part of the matrix almost fell to the stress of the impact. Elyisaus roared in anger as her she refused to give up;

“YOU ARE NOTHING COMPARED TO ME! YIELD!” he shouted

“Never!” strained Techna

Su appeared on the scene and looked up to see Elyisaus and Techna, she grit her teeth as she formed a small spherical bluish force field between the palms of her hands; the force field expanded outwards rapidly as if grew into a large spheroid shape, she focused on her target and sent it hurtling through the air. Elyisaus turned his head slightly to see a spheroid force field moments away from him as it flew through the air. It collided with him at full force, knocking him out of the air. A sharp strangled sound escaped Elyisaus throat as his body plummeted towards the surface of the moon; he landed in a heap before bouncing several times, a thick cloud of moon dust swarmed around him, settling as he came to a stop. Techna breathed a sigh of relief as she looked up to see her sister reaching out towards her. She gave a small smile and cut her jets, taking Su’s hand and stepping onto the force disc.

“Su? I-I don’t feel so good. Thank you…where…where is Mentella? Delta?” asked Techna

“Elyisaus froze them in time. He’s got Sai as well. I’ll deal with him; you need to get everything back up and running. Bring Bobby.” Su ordered.

Techna massaged her temples and nodded slowly as they descended.

Elyisaus snarled as he rose to his feet in a flurry of golden energy. The energy shield around him shone brilliantly as he turned his attention to Su and Techna. His entire body glowed as a large flare of white light erupted around him. Techna coughed slightly as she fiddled with her shielding matrix, Su looked up to see Elyisaus in the distance.

“I’ll get Bobby in a sec; I need to fix my shielding matrix first, then I’ll-”

“That may not be an option right now…” Su hissed.

Techna frowned before her eyes widened significantly,

“He’s far enough away to hit the secondary shielding, that should stop him, but I’m not sure.” frowned Techna.

Elyisaus roared as a thick, cylindrical blast of cosmic energy burst forwards, scarring the surface of the moon as it advanced towards them. The energy blast collided with the shielding and within seconds the shielding overloaded and deactivated. Su took a deep breath as her eyes flared white briefly; the air in front of her wavered as she stretched her arms out. Techna shot her an anxious look.

“You aren’t seriously going to…are you?”

Su nodded in response and braced for the impact. Elyisaus smirked and unleashed a cascade of cosmic energy towards the two sisters; an ear-splitting boom sounded as the torrent of energy slammed into Su’s force field. The resultant impact sent ripples throughout the shield causing it to waver violently. Su dug her heels into the ground and pushed back against the cascade of energy forcing her backwards. Techna twisted her hands anxiously as she stared in shock at her sister and the shield around them both.

“That’s incredib-” she whispered

“J’asira…I can’t…keep this up forever…have to get defense systems back online. Go.” Su ground out.

Techna shook herself back to reality and nodded. She turned around, moving back towards looked back towards her sister, who managed to give her a strained smile. Techna ran inside through the corridor as she located the nearest terminal. She focused herself, stretching her mind, quickly integrating her mind to her various systems, giving it the kick it needed to reboot.

Elyisaus walked forward, intensifying the power of his assault with every step. Su’s ability to sustain the force field was slowly diminishing as the pressure to concentrate climbed with each step Elyisaus took, forcing her to her knees. A bright light filled the space above her as a gigantic pair of legs, appeared, the light ceased revealing an upgraded Mega Destroyer.

“HOSTILE DETECTED. TARGETING…TARGET LOCKED. ENGAGING.”

Elyisaus’ assault on Su relented at the sound of the loud voice. Su gasped as she attempted to steady herself; she looked up to see Bobby targeting Elyisaus and gratefully dropped the force field. Su smiled as the labs defenses and robotic units were reactivated simultaneously, various different weapons appeared, all targeting Elyisaus. Techna came rushing back, helping her sister to her feet.

“I’ve never been so glad to see Bobby.” Su sighed.

Elyisaus turned his attention to the large robot moments away from firing at him. The Mega Destroyer fired, a laser beam crashed into the ground where Elyisaus was following him as he flew into the air. The laser from the Mega Destroyer smashed into his golden shield, sending him spinning backwards. Elyisaus steadied himself and stretched out his hand, firing a golden orb as the Mega Destroyer charged up to release a shockwave of energy. The golden orb made short work of the gigantic robot quickly enveloping his entire structure, freezing him in place. Techna’s eyes crackled as they narrowed and she uttered a command to her waiting army of robots and weapons.

“Fire.”

A cacophony of deafening sounds erupted around them as various weapons and robotic assault units attacked simultaneously. Techna pulled out her phaser, turned up the setting and fired repeatedly. Su looked out as Elyisaus swept his hand towards the incoming attacks, a golden wall of energy swept through each attack, freezing it in place.

“Come on!” urged Su.

She grabbed her sister’s hand as a force disc materialized in front of them; they jumped on and flew away from the golden wave of energy; Elyisaus looked up and pointed towards them. The wave of energy veered towards them, increasing in speed and swirled in front of them. Su stopped, realising they were trapped; she surrounded herself and Techna with a spherical force field as the golden energy engulfed them slowing the time stream around them to a definite halt. Elyisaus steeled his jaw, brushing off his uniform as he looked over his shoulder and then out towards the countless number of things he had locked in place. He looked towards the figures of Su and her sister surrounded by a force field. Techna opened her eyes as her sister sat cross legged floating in mid-air as she maintained the shield.

“You can block time stopping effects?” asked Techna

“Apparently so, I’ve never tried before so this is new to me. It is a form of energy in its own right so I shouldn’t be so surprised. The last time he caught me, I wasn’t fully prepared, my shield hadn’t formed much.” replied Su as she observed her force field.

Techna nodded and looked up as Elyisaus approached through the translucent golden haze. He pushed aside a large variety of weapons; lasers, micro missiles and rocket propelled limbs causing them to point at odd angles. He stopped and hovered in front of Su’s force field.

“I know you can still hear me and that you can move. You were fortunate, but this will not always be the case. I have no desire to remain here. I have what I need.” Elyisaus concluded

His eyes flashed as a small white sphere of cosmic energy pulsed in the palm of his hand; he closed his hand and pushed into the frozen time stream surrounding the force field, he placed the small pulsating sphere into the time stream and smiled.

“I will leave you with a…parting gift. Enjoy.” he added.

Elyisaus chuckled darkly and turned away from the sisters as a voice sounded in his ear. His face quickly twisted into a deep frown, he deactivated the glowing orb on his neck and pressed his fingers into the device attached to his ear. The voice continued to speak as his frown deepened before lifting into a twisted grin. He replied as he outlined a circular pattern in the space in front of him; the gold pattern spun around as it glowed, the rotations increased in speed as it transformed into a portal. Elyisaus turned and nodded towards Su and Techna as he backed into the portal and laughing as it sealed itself.

---

The golden dome surrounding the Delta members, Mentella and Psion lifted; golden ribbons of energy wound up into the air, vanishing entirely as the rest of the dome seemed to evaporate around them. Cavalier twisted in the air as his body flew towards where Elyisaus once stood, he teleported out of the way just as several bladed telekinetic weapons drove themselves into the plethora of displays behind him, accompanied by several bullets. Cavalier appeared beside Kr’anri as her psychokinetic claws vanished, he looked up and around. Sarge blinked and looked around; alarms sounded throughout the lab, the intensity of them causing Kr’anri to wince slightly.

“What just happened? Where is he? He just vanished. Can either of you sense him?” asked Vitality

Mentella frowned as she looked around, she looked down to her hands and her frown deepened. Psion walked over to the console, shutting off the alarms, allowing Kr’anri to relax slightly.

“Elyisaus is long gone. Judging by the slight delay in our actions…” Mentella started.

“…he froze us in time. Fortunately it wasn’t permanent.” Psion continued.

Mentella and Psion looked at each other; he gestured between them as Mentella nodded towards him. Psirus looked up, noticing the blown apart doors leading to Sector 1. He adjusted his regulators and lifted himself into the air; he landed on the other side of the door and looked into the nearest room. He bit his lip and sighed deeply as he withdrew from the remains of the room. Sarge looked up to Psirus as he reappeared.

“What is it?” asked Sarge

“It looks like he got what he came for.” Psirus sighed.

Kr’anri backed into the corner in shock; she slumped against the wall as pale red tears streaked down her face. Vitality sighed before looking back up at Psirus.

“Joule’s gone, isn’t she?” he asked quietly.

Psirus looked down and nodded slowly in response. A small cry left Kr'anri's mouth as she wiped at the tears staining her cheeks.

“Kr’anri saw this…knew this…why did Kr’anri have to see this?” she cried softly.
