Origin

Once human, turned Manimal by Dr. Moreau. This nanotech scientist has been searching for a way to reverse the effects and become human again. Unfortunately, during his research he was forced to take an unfinished nanite prototype and fend for himself when VIPER raided his base of operations. This prototype destroyed much of his human self, losing all memories of his past. Turando secured the destruction of his own research, preventing VIPER from acquiring it, however, upon his escape, he was caught and executed by the squad. A few short minutes later, he reawakened to the soldiers arguing in a containment room. He sealed his executioners in and made his way out to the jungle equipped with only his wits.

He was later found by ARGENT and was taken in to be slaved to a handler. Fortunately, Turando's intelligence allowed him to turn the tables and he avoided being abused by ARGENT. Turando eventually escaped the island, swimming all the way to Japan and meeting up with the hero known as Gadget Boy. UNTIL caught wind of the displaced manimal and Turando was taken for questioning. He was released to Millennium City with UNTIL Agents watching over him.

First Responses

Turando's name isn't really even a name, it was a term used by one of his alien patients that meant "Medic". Turando never fought the Qulaar directly during their attack on Millennium City, he was always in the background tending to the fallen and making sure civilians reached safety. This was Turando's first appearance as a Hero, showcasing his early medical devices and nanotech improvements. UNTIL, seeing Turando's capabilities, offered him a spot in UNITY. Turando may have declined joining them, but he did agree to working alongside them for a price. UNTIL gave Turando funding, but as his research improved, so too did his requirement for additional resources rise.

Turando's costs began to show, and eventually he was cut off from UNTIL resources. He worked as a freelance medic for the longest time, aiding many heroes and saving the lives of civilians across the globe. Soon enough, it came time for the manimal to decide how he could afford continuing his research. Officially retiring from public hero work on January 1st 2015, Turando felt this was the right move. He knew full well that he would need something to keep him afloat. Two days after his retirement, Angelstone Laboratories contacted the ex-hero with the offer he was looking for.

Turando's Statistics and Trivia

Turando's combat role is classified as Balanced. His Nanite Infusion technology quickly heals injured allies, keeping them in the fight. The nanites inside him allow him to regenerate major cuts and bruises in a matter of seconds, and are even capable of reviving their host at least once every couple of minutes. He needs to keep on his toes though, as he does not have the strength to withstand too many hard hits before falling.

Turando has no formal training in combat.

Turando has a Nanotech Environmental Adaptation Suit, but due to an accident with its helmet breaking in space the suit modifies his current nanites' protocols whenever the suit it worn.

It costs Turando $400,000 USD to conduct nanotech research and production for less than twelve seconds.

Turando can legally pronounce himself dead, and has done so over 100 times during his career as a hero.
