His Story
Origins on Monster Island
He is a manimal, that much is certain. Manimals used to be human, but they were changed into the animalistic monsters they are by science. This one in particular was created to be one of Dr. Moreau's hunters. Most manimals are unable to retain much knowledge about their past selves, losing their identity after being genetically reconfigured. Anyone who did retain their memories were tortured, beaten, or even killed. Not this one; this manimal in particular used to delve into the field of nanotech, he remembers. After making his escape, he found various hideaways on the island that he could seek shelter in, eventually happening upon one of Moreau's older labs. This is where he began his research, and how he got his one superpower that he is dying over and over again to keep secret.
For weeks, he has tried to figure out a program he can use with his nanotech that would allow him to genetically fix himself, to return to his former human self. It wasn't long after that his new lab was found by a VIPER squadron. Knowing full well that if his research were to be found it would give VIPER much more power than they already had. He had torched everything he worked so hard on, making sure nothing was left of it. All he had left to do was destroy the prototype nanite colony he had been working on, but his door was already being breached. In a quick attempt to find a way to get rid of it, he injected this prototype into himself. Not long after, the doors blew open, and VIPER had killed him... or so they thought.
Moments later, he woke up in his burned up location. Frantically looking around, he realized that he had come back to life, and the situation he was now in. VIPER was still in the building with him, still trying to recover whatever it was that he had created. The VIPER squad was mostly holding up in a single room. A pipe was damaged and spewing out gas, but they didn't care. He sealed them in and watched as they furiously tried to find a way out. One soldier shot his firearm at the glass in an attempt to shatter it, inadvertently torching the room and killing anyone inside. Knowing that this would attract attention, he escaped into the wilderness once more.
-To be continued.
Affiliations and Friends/Foes
UNTIL
Turando sought UNTIL's help when Gadget Boy recommended them. After much debate on whether or not Turando could handle life in cities, they eventually transported him to Millennium City. Not long after, the Qulaar Invasion happened. Seeing Turando's work in the field, UNTIL provided him with more benefits for a period of time.
Zadan Huges
Zadan Huges acted as Turando's "Guide" when he first arrived in Millennium City. Zadan transported Turando from place to place and allowed him access to some of the safehouses around the City. In exchange for the safehouse stays, Turando usually has a small task to do at the various safehouses.
Angelstone Laboratories
Turando's retirement caught the eye of several different research groups. Those working at Angelstone Labs saw potential in his field and requested Turando to join them. Turando is now on Angelstone's payroll as he continues his research and is given contracts to earn a little extra for himself.
Conquer
While Turando is known to be affiliated with Conquer, he tends to be split from most of their regular activities. It is assumed that he is working alongside them as a contracted mercenary whose duty is to provide medical support to Conquer's front line as well as provide supplies for them.
Marital and Family
Engagement
Turando is known to be engaged to a werewolf known as Asheera, though there appears to be more going on than what is being shown by the two. It was Asheera who gave him the silver and pearl ring he now wears. Their marriage date is set later in 2015.
Other Friends
Sorrel
Sorrel is one of Turando's first patients. After having being rescued from a small underground facility located in Downtown Millennium City and healed by the manimal medic, Sorrel worked alongside him for a few weeks before taking on an assignment with UNTIL to investigate possible rumors relating to her original captor in Europe.
Scout, the Westside Bandit
Scout is known as the Westside Bandit for a reason. She spent much of her time living on the streets and committing felonies of her own; stealing weapons and ammo straight from the MCPD, mugging, and even vandalism. Turando found her in an alleyway beating up a member of the Cobra Lords gang, and he took her in. Scout has been working for Turando ever since that day.
Hostiles
Vann
Vaan is an Ex-ARGENT Manimal Handler. When Turando was first captured, it was he who was told to break him. He failed and lost his job. He and a small contingent of other ARGENT Handlers broke away, forming their own group with a goal specifically to take Turando down.
The Bull
The Bull, as Turando calls him, was the brute who guarded the dying Sorrel in the facility. He is owned by a mad scientist and was ordered to defend his prize. He failed, losing both Sorrel and his own face to Turando. All he wants now is to take Sorrel back and to seek revenge on the one who put him in the metal mask and tubes he now wears as life support.
Combat Role and Style
Turando is classified as a Hybrid (pun intended). As a combat medic, he runs around the battlefield both tending to his patients and fighting off any aggressors. His manimal trait of bloodlust sends his capabilities skyrocketing the moment blood is spilled, regardless of who or what it originates from. His armament allows him to be competitive against most enemies and his self-reconstructing body and inability to stay dead make him an incredibly deadly combatant should a fight drag on for any period of time. Turando is a fast paced attacker, medic, and, if absolutely necessary, the person on the front-lines taking the hits for his team.
