Born during a time in which reptilian manimals spanned the coasts of Monster Island, Vergence had a natural talent for hunting and scavenging before he even learned to speak his native language. Preferring to hunt his own meals, even as an infant. His killer instinct only improving with age, as did the admiration of his tribe. Easily achieving the position of an alpha hunter of his people, even under the handicap of being no older then 12. Using his natural agility and cunning to overpower larger prey that others could only achieve through brute force.

Finding the daily routine of hunting to lack in challenge, he would venture further into the lands each day. Going missing for days or even weeks, though always returning with his own sentimental trophy, such as the claw of a Teleiosaurus. Though too young to be able to handle such a monstrous dinosaur himself, he didn't shy from claiming he did just that. His ego beginning to cause him more trouble then good, he couldn't help but draw his attention to an expanding Argent encampment at the opposite end of the coast. Still a child, the sight of humans, vehicles, buildings and other foreign technologies perked his curiosity further then anything he had ever seen on the island. Slowly he would trek closer to the base every day, disregarding the warnings of his friends and family.

After many nights he began to understand the humans activities, small squads would travel either on foot or by vehicle to neighboring tribes of manimal and either kill or capture the inhabitants. Fearing the safety of his own people, he returned home to warn and prepare his reptilian brethren of Argents intentions, waging that an ambush on the base may scare them off the Island. Even with the fame of his friends, the elders and pack leaders loathed Vergence for his lack of discipline, respect and apparent bloodlust.

Ordered to stay home while the elders ventured towards the camp, hoping to make peace with the new humans before they set their sites on lizards, Vergence was quick to become restless. Days passed without the return of the elders. Certain something isn't going to plan, he snuck himself out within the night alone, heading directly up the coast, the dim lights of the facility already illuminating from the dark horizon.

Perching himself upon a nearby cliff side, he quickly discovered the fate of the elders. A line of lifeless lizard bodies, all wearing sacks and having their hands bound behind them with a long length of rope. Infuriated he began jumping down the cliff side, sprinting his way closer, spotlights shining against the flora around him. Easily dispatching a distracted guard before his partner alerted his comrades, firing his weapon within the air before being torn apart as was his partner.

Impressive enough for a mere child, he was easily captured by the enclosing troop, though the lengthy game of cat and mouse could not help but impress the captain, deciding to test the lizards potential rather then allow him to join his elders within the prison block. Vergence was placed on a chain, confident soldiers placing money on whether they could survive a fist-fight with the lizard. Surprising enough to the troops, Vergence never lost, causing dozens of lost paychecks and several injuries. One particular soldier taunting Vergence, teasing the loss of his elders. Thrown into a rage, he continued to attack the soldier even after such a time where he would be allowed a meal and rest. Even with his chain being pulled, he managed to injure the soldier fatally, quickly being shot for becoming savage.

Man-made weapon

Transferred to the attention of the scientists after healing from the normally fatal wound. Spending his early teenage years within tanks and upon tables. The scientists failing to replicate the rapid healing capability into a serum that could be administered to humans. His sedation lessening over the months as his resistance faded, rewarded with cooked meat from animals upon the Island, receiving weapon training to test if his natural instinct could be applied to human technology. Tagging along with small squads as they explored the tropics, impressing the soldiers, firing a rifle with relative accuracy and precision. Vergence did not dare turn his rifle upon them, he was well warned over the years that his tribe will remain unharmed should he remain loyal to Argent. It was already clear to Vergence that Argent had the power to wipe out the entire Island of manimals if they wished.

Entering his late teens, the Scientists upon the base no longer attempted to harness Vergences abilities but instead enhance them. The captain now with complete faith in his abilities, aimed to turn him into a weapon. Just as he did his own tribe, Vergence rubbed shoulders with the greatest marksmen on the camp, proving himself highly talented with melee based weaponry aswell, excelling in combat knives and the blades used to clear forestation.

His experimentation proving a success. his 18th birthday was celebrated by having clothes tailored for him, the first time in his life he was treated not as an equal to the soldiers on the Island but an Idol. Having senses sharper then any man, a running speed faster then that of jeeps, rapid regeneration and a jumping height that can scale mountainsides in seconds. No longer treated like an animal, he began to receive his own payroll, an asset greater then many of the troops combined.

Verge12.jpg
Just as he did many years before, Vergence snuck himself out within the middle of the night, hijacking a jeep and driving himself south towards the location of his former tribe. Being almost 8 years since speaking nothing but English, he was easily mistaken at first glance as a human. His former hunting friends now the new elders, he was banned from his birth home for becoming a monster, the mere sight of human clothing, weapons and transport enough to sicken many of his former brethren to utter disgust.

Returning to the Facility by sunrise, he requested a transfer off the Island altogether. Finding his new home within Millennium City, Vergence boasts himself as Argents best hitman. His natural desire to hunt making him an extremely efficient assassin with the combat ability to back it up.

A young man in a new world

Verge11.jpg
Targets that would take others days of preparation, Vergence was able to fulfill effectively and silently within hours. This left a very sheltered reptile in a strange human environment with more free-time then he has had since he was a child. And just as he did as a boy, he began exploring the city in the evening of each day. Having no understanding of money, he would spend it on everything, becoming heavily intoxicated and causing trouble everywhere he went. Creating more negative attention then he could handle, Vergence spent the majority of his money on the development of suits. Opting for sleek, lightweight and flexible over sheer protection. He began to wear his suits everywhere, using them as a social crutch. Finding himself far more relaxed when obscured beneath the intimidating and mysterious appearance his suits provided. Becoming so comfortable shelling himself behind helmets and armor he would never remove them in a public space, not even for his Argent employers.

A year of successful assassinations without a single mishap, Vergence was treated to independence. Purchasing his own luxurious apartment closer to the City which he could go and leave at his leisure, so long as his contracts continue to be fulfilled. Vergence was treated to higher then average wealth from his work, a large sum of his income going directly towards the perfection of his suits and weaponry. Such enhancements include retractable blades within his gauntlets, silenced rifles and pistols of varying caliber and even flight for his suits via jet propulsion.

A turn for better or worse

Verge18.jpg
As difficult as adapting to a human culture was, moreso was the overwhelming realization that he was growing homesick for his previous life, friends, family and acceptance. Earning himself enough time to return to Monster Island, desperate to interact with others of his kind or else fear he would lose the bond with his heritage forever. Vergence almost at a loss within his own emotions, couldn't understand as to why there was nothing at the location of his birth home, no traces of his people anywhere to be seen. Vergence took to the skies with his jet boots, scanning the Island desperately for any lizard.

The facility in which he spent so many years still active, he barged himself within the labs, shaking down the scientist that had turned him into the killing machine he is today to explain the disappearance of his entire tribe. Guards witnessing his hostility they open fire. Vergence easily eliminating security and destroying the labs without an answer, taking with him what looked to be a new serum, whether the super-soldier serum they wanted all along or something else together, it was his now.

Verge17.jpg
Placing several remote charges as he dashed away from the building, Vergence destroyed the facility and anyone unlucky enough to remain within, the research obliterating along with it. His contract immediately terminated, Vergence went into hiding, furthering his need to never remove his armor, being a target of assassination himself.

No longer having Argent provide him with equipment, Vergence uses the little he knows to perform basic repairs to his suits, all of which bare scratching and minor ware. Often painting and decorating his suits to feel as though they where new, appearing in all sorts of colours and styles compared to complete shades of silver and black.

Working as a freelance hitman, working for anyone who cared to perform the research to find and contact him. Vergence always carried a sample of his stolen serum with him, causing his abilities to enhance to incredible levels, most notably his regeneration, so hyper-accelerated his scales smooth and take a more symbiotic appearance. This form is limited to emergency uses only, as his supply of the serum is limited and prolonged exposure to the form can cause severe loss off control and mind. A single injection can last a few hours before expiring and returning Vergence to normal.

Then and now

Verge16.jpg
Now 20, Vergence lives his life in the pursuit of avenging his people, searching the world for any that may still live. He is easily manipulated by other manimals, especially reptiles bearing a resemblance to his own. Though his grudge is mainly directed at Argent, Vergence continues to feel uncomfortable in the company of humans.

Wanting more in his life then murder, Vergence can occasionally be seen wearing more casual clothing, though always retaining his helmet and having the rest of his suit close-bye. Though it is very difficult for him to do so, he will remove his armor for his close friends.

Not alone afterall

Verge14.jpg
Verge15.jpg
An unknown mercenary baring a striking resemblance to Vergence going by the alias of Syphen, seemingly trained under similar conditions, incredibly talented with melee weapons and firearms. Syphen has made it clear on every encounter that he has been assigned to eliminate Vergence. Though Vergence is notably the better fighter, he often lowers his guard, sparing the mercenaries life in hope he may be a second experiment originating from his tribe before it's destruction. Though Syphens true nature is a mystery, his tail appearing more of an attachment of his suit rather then that of his anatomy.
