Fairfax
The City of Wonders
It was while working at the campus library that she would find the strange book written in Latin titled "The Liber Curiosium." Thinking it was some strange book of fantasy, she read through it's strange entries on magical curiosities. That was when the description of one of the items clicked with a curio she had seen at the Lost Lament pawn shop in Downtown. Curiosity got the better of the introverted girl, and she ventured into the unknown.
One item lead to the next, and her curiosity only grew as she found more and more items. It was on a whim that she decided to try them on, to see what it felt like to wear such strange things.
That was when her whole world changed for her.
She felt the items growing hot and cold at the same time, as it seemed like her whole perception shifted, like she was watching events from behind a window. That is when she met Reliquary for the first time. The being born of the mismatched magics that she had so blatantly and without regard for consequence donned.
Needless to say, it was an educational experience, as she got to meet her 'other half' for the first time. It would not be the last.
Powers, Skills, and Attributes
Powers
Power 1 - Magic Made Manifest: Reliquary warps the laws of reality subtly with her presence, and the combined magics of the items that make up her form. She can, to an extent, fly and is immune to natural weather.
Power 2 - Magic Is My Blood: Reliquary does not need to eat, sleep, breath and she is immune to aging. She is a magical construct.
Skills
Skill 1 - Skilled researcher: Elizabeth is a skilled researcher and archivist.
Skill 2 - Polyglot: Elizabeth is a polyglot, and can read and speak many languages at the fluency level, including some that are considered 'dead'.
Skill 3 - Calligrapher and illustrator: Elizabeth is skilled in calligraphy, and can transcribe and illustrate texts.
Skill 4 - Sorcery is written in my bones: Reliquary is a skilled sorceress, and has access to the magical knowledge that is contained in the tomes that she has incorporated.
Attributes
Attribute 1 - Photographic Memory: Elizabeth has near perfect recall, and can remember almost everything she has read.
Attribute 2 -Speed reading: Elizabeth is a fast and accurate reader, able to devour books in short order.
Gear and Equipment
Relics
Weapon - The Swords of Salzadar: These mystical blades were once wielded by the demon Salzadar. While bearing these swords, he was nearly unbeatable. Sadly, no one but Salzadar can actually wield them.
Weapon - The Gauntlets of Ur-Gal: These mystic gauntlets were once used to channel the sorcerous might of the archmagi, Ur-Gal. Echoes of the final spell cast by him still reside inside of these gauntlets, causing them to unmake the physical form of any that would seek to use them once more.
Armor -The Headpiece of Amur-Ra-Net: This head covering renders the wearer immune to the effects of natural weather. No wind will push them, no rain will wet them, and no sandstorm will scour them.
Armor -The Breastplate of Innermost Flame: A remnant of what once was a suit of magical armor, said to harness the power of the nine gates to achieve a state of transcendence. The other pieces of the armor have been lost to time and history, leaving this one piece almost powerless.
Armor -The Mask of the Laughing Death: Once used to wager, and win, against an otherworldly horror. This mask conceals not just the face of the wearer, but their thoughts and motivations.
Armor -The Fall of Hawthorn: This garment, worn about the waist, allows the user to fall in any direction at mental command. Sadly, it proved difficult for the magus who created it to control and led to her death.
Armor -The Greaves of Gales: These mystical greaves allow the wearer to float in the air, and be carried about by the breeze. This proved to be an inefficient means of travel, and they were soon abandoned since a stiff wind in the wrong direction could carry the user off.
Trinkets and curios -The Liber Curiousiam: This strange tome contains in it's pages all manners of odd and curious magical artifacts. It's contents seem to be ever growing, as new pages appear randomly.
Trinkets and curios -The Scroll of Safe Storage: This scroll can bind within itself any number of items, at the cost of one year of the users life for every item bound within. Best used by those that are ageless.
Trinkets and curios -The Ankh of Amur-Ra-Net: This item can call to it's wearer any number of items that are bound to it.
Trinkets and curios -The Thundering Stones of Theus: These mystical rune stones spark with magical lightning, striking around them randomly.
Relationships
Lover
None currently. Elizabeth is too shy to ever actually pursue a relationship, and Reliquary seems to be disinterested in any of the beings she has encountered, except for the artifacts they may carry.
Friends/Allies
- Dr. Gregory Ivan Khaupe: The head librarian of the campus library, and the head of the archivist program. A mentor and boss to Elizabeth. Even in his 80's, he is still a respected researcher and archivist.
- Stanley Nathan Kirkpatrick: The owner of the pawn shop, the Lost Lament, he is often frequented by Elizabeth in her search for curios. His shop is in Downtown, and he has had run ins with the members of DEMON on occasion.
- Tabitha Winrey Taylor: A co-worker of Elizabeth, and probably the closest she has to an actual friend. A light-hearted and somewhat airheaded teenager, she works at the library to earn extra money and credits for her classes.
Enemies
The Curators: A group of mystical collectors and relic-seekers, they have an interest in Reliquary and the items that she is composed of.
General Perception
Elizabeth: She has made little impression on the general public. A shy and introverted bookworm, she is only really known by the public at large as the quiet, helpful and somewhat skittish woman who seems to know where every book in the library is.
Reliquary: Seen as a mysterious and aloof figure, the general public knows a limited amount about her. She doesn't do interviews, doesn't stay for photo's or hardly interact with the police unless she must. On certain websites, there is to be found what little information has been gleamed, along with much speculation and guesswork. Seen as a bit of an unknown, and not completely trusted.
