OOC Notes: The Cosmic Glory is a hero created by @Angelight and is her main hero she plays. It is a character lovingly created in inspiration of heroes such as Captain Marvel and bits of Wonder Woman. She is also a concept that derives of space itself such as comets and other wonders of the universe. The literal cosmic glory of the universe. Not only that but using the rhyme, "star light, star light. first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might. Have the wish I wish tonight!" Her personal shazam to change to and from the Cosmic Glory.

Most of this information should be considered OOC for she carries it as her secret identity. Only superheroes and maybe even supervillains lucky enough to witness it would know. Civilians do not know Faye is the Cosmic Glory.

Known Powers and Abilities
Super Strength and slight knowledge of martial arts. Her strength seems to change depending on the positive emotions and belief in herself or those around her. Negative emotions such as hatred, depression, etc will weaken her strength and her powers. Depending on people's feelings around her, her strength can unlimited if harnessed correctly(except she doesn't know about this exactly!) OR force her to revert back into Faye Carrano. She possesses a spiritual flame that surrounds her that can burn at any person who is evil or possesses dark intentions. Those who are good or have good intentions will only feel a cool and comforting feeling from the flames. She can manipulate the flames into her fists or her whole body - typically when flying. She can also use it to cover the ground at her foes to let the flames attack at her very foes. However, she prefers to rely on her martial arts instead of her spiritual fire.
Equipment and Paraphernalia
When she is forced to be Faye Carrano, she carries a belt given to her by Mr. Blank that carries a couple darts, marbles, a laser pointer and her infamous taser. She has a rune placed into the ribbon of her hair that prevents strong magicians from using magic to change Faye into the Cosmic Glory or vice versa. It was created by Ursun for her.

Backstory

Tale of Two Souls

The tale of the Cosmic Glory's birth begins in another dimension, in a far away kingdom where meta humans lived peacefully under the watchful eye of Dio, The God of Fate. Every single person had their decisions made for them from the moment they are born to how they would die. That was how everyone lived without eve dare questioning it. Even the prince of the kingdom, Frendel Somara, would live and even served his god faithfully without questioning him.

Everything changed when a mysterious young lady from another world washed ashore. The prince discovered her and, out of the kindness in his heart, brought her back to the castle and nursed her back to health. While the girl suffered from amnesia, he called her Cedany and a friendship was born. Through the years that went on, that friendship developed into love as well as a powerful bond for one another.

So much so that the prince dared to speak up to Dio to marry Cedany instead of the woman he was destined to be with. The god refused. With no other options left, Frendel chose to simply disobey and flee with his beloved to marry her. The God of Fate tore through the kingdom, demanding Frendel's head. None would tell Dio where they went.

That decision cost him the entire kingdom for many loved their prince and their loyalty to the royal family outweighed their devotion to their god. Despite all of Frendel's power he was born with, Dio hunted them down. Cedany threw herself in the way of Dio's attacks, costing her own life to save the love of her life.

Her sacrifice drove a power within him he did not know he had, a sacred blue flame that could burn evil in its wake. Despite all his strength and all his power, he could not slay the God of Fate. He was doomed to succumb to the pits of hell until the soul Cedany swept Frendel from his grasp, denying him his revenge.

She led him between dimensions to flee from the God of Fate's touch before Cedany's very soul disappeared between dimensions. Frendel was alone.

At the same time, a girl named Faye Carrano was enjoying Christmas with her mother. They were waiting in line for Faye to give her christmas letter to Santa Claus that she had spent all week writing up. The festivities were abruptly put to a halt when the Black Harlequin and his monstrosity of a toy, Clarence, attacked the parents and their children.

Faye almost witnessed her mother get squashed by the evil teddy bear but a hero had flown in and swooped her mother out of the way! Backup arrived and soon Clarance became nothing more then a pile of fluff and spare parts. The Black Harlequin had escaped in the confusion though.

Her list was lost in the confusion but one of the heroes managed to return it to the little girl. Although she didn't get to see Santa Claus that day, it left Faye awake that very night. Her thoughts ran of all that happened and a better understanding of what a hero is. She wanted to protect her mother, her friends and all the people within the city. She even wanted to go so far as to protect the heroes that saved her life as well as everyone else on that day.

It led Faye to crawl over to the window, open it and peer up to the sky to what appeared to be the only star in the sky. In that moment, Faye made her wish; to be a superhero so she could protect everyone and everything. A wish that was so simple but so pure to her. With that, Faye curled back into her bed and fell fast asleep.

Little did Faye know that the star was the soul of Prince Frendel. He had stopped in the night sky, sobbing in despair. He was tired of running and was pondering whether or not to accept his fate and return back to his own dimension... if he could remember where it was. He was lost. He had no idea where he was.

That was then he heard her wish.

A wish that was pure and true... a wish that led Prince Fendel to fly below and investigate. He stared to the sleeping child, seeing her resolve through her very aura. There was something about Faye that made Frendel want to stay... it gave him a resolve, a way to start over again.

With that, he would grant her wish. His soul would rest next to her own, watching and waiting, even guiding the little girl as if he were her own. A new bond would be formed and that bond would form the cosmic wonder of the star.

The Cosmic Glory.

Personality

As the Cosmic Glory, her child like side shows through. She becomes awe struck to the new things she gets to see and experience as a hero and will grow horrified at some of the things villains will do. Never the less, her resolve in justice and to protect the public is absolute! She will put her life on the line if she had to protect anyone's life, including another hero if it came right down to it. She takes her job as a superhero very seriously.

Outside of the heroic form, Faye is a huge tomboy. Although she grew out of the cootie phase in the unexpected death of her mother, she still has some growing up to do still. She loves comic books, video games and watching cartoons on television. Faye always hangs out with her best friend, Brad Jones, on the weekends and even playing a little bit of baseball with anyone who would want to play with her.

Faye is also a fiercely independent kid. Due to living in near poverty through the years, she learnt to cook for herself and is constantly doing chores around the house. Its almost an obsession to make sure every single thing is clean and not a speck of dirt is left behind.

She went into temporary retirement after Galtoid the Infallible's arrest to focus on her studies in high school. With her senior year closing, Faye has returned to the scene as the Cosmic Glory in January of 2015. Faye is as optimistic as ever and has matured slightly over the years. Her love of comic books and action movies hasn't changed though she has developed a love for cooking.

Faye has moved out of James Richardson's apartment and is currently living with her now boyfriend, Brad Jones.

Abilities and Powers

NOTE: Take this as OOC information! While it is known to the Cosmic Glory, by now, it would take time to others to realize or be told about her powers!

Cosmic Flame of Hope

A tiny, little blue flame burns with the power of hope itself! This cosmic flame was the original host to Prince Frendel Somara, from another dimension, and was passed down to Faye on that fateful night. Once she shouts, "Star light, star bright. First star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might. Have the wish I wish tonight!" The flame within her encompasses her and explodes outward, becoming the Cosmic Glory!
The flame is linked to her abilities. So long as Cosmic Glory is filled with hope and positive emotions, as well as surrounded by others filled with hope and positive emotions, the flame and her powers grow stronger as well.

Super Strength: Able to defy weight limitations of her own, she will hit hard and is able to lift things twice her size. This allows her to go against even the strongest of super villains with ease.

Invulnerability: With enough positive emotion and hope, the flames grant her able to be invulnerable. Not even the strongest of bullets can pierce through her and she can take blows almost like a pro-wrestler!

Flight: Like a comet in the sky, she is able to soar through the air and hover about in the air. When in flight, the cosmic flame is always surrounding her and leaves a trail behind her. If anyone ever needs to know Cosmic Glory is coming, all they need is to look for the 'comet' in the sky.

Space Flight: This also allows her to be able to fly in space without needing a suit. For reasons unknown, she doesn't need to breathe in space and is perfectly capable to fly around. She's like a literal comet when flying through space.

The Cosmic Flame of Hope itself is always encompassed in her fists or shines around her when she fights. If any villain, 'evil' or with any malicious intent, their contact with the flame will be a powerful burn against them. It burns 'evil' with a passion and the stronger the horrific intent, or 'evil', the more the flame will hurt them.
Cgactionshot.jpg

OOC NOTE: This is subjective. When encountered with the flame, you can roleplay out how the flame will burn you. It will not be forced upon you. Just take note of it if you come in contact with her flame.

However, those with kindness in their heart and soul, 'good' with no malicious intent, the flame will feel cool and comforting to the touch. It will soothe them and touching it might give a gentle boost in hopefulness in their personality. It will fade after a while.

Cosmic Glory can and will use the flame if she knows her opponent will be burned by it. However, she doesn't know the extent her cosmic flame can go and just what it is capable of. As far as Faye knows, she's just scratched the surface. She could learn as time goes on.

Boxing & Light Martial Arts

When she wishes to become a super hero, Faye never expected it to come true over night. Through the years, Faye knew she could not simply learn by flailing her fists into her foes and pray for a hit. With great power came with great responsibility.
Through the years, Faye signed up for self defense classes in martial art classes and used that to her advantage. While swift, it didn't feel "right" to Faye. Eventually, she signed up to take boxing lessons and its what she still takes to this day.
Now through both methods, she's developed a style that mixes the two slightly. Boxing to let her punch hard and fast all the while employing what she learned in martial arts to move about as best as she can. She isn't an expert at all in either of these fields but its enough so she knows where to land her fists and use it well with her super powers.

Weaknesses

Cgflyshot.png

Emotions

Despite positive emotions and her almost unbreakable belief fuel her strength, the opposite can be her downfall. Hatred, depression, etc can weaken her heavily and sometimes even cause her to revert back into the form of Faye Carrano. A psychic or magician who can put such negative emotions out there could result in a devastating blow for our hero!

Flames of Despair

There is a single flame that exists as the opposite of the Flames of Hope, the Cosmic Flame. It was a piece from the Flames of Hope, soon turned purple from an experiment gone wrong in attempting to replicate her power and has been passed from person to person. It is fueled by chaos, negative emotions, lack of sanity, and can cause many of these things in its hosts. No one knows what the Flames of Despair is. Not even the Cosmic Glory is aware of its existence. It is the only thing that can burn the Cosmic Glory badly and could even kill her. Those who take the Flames of Despair into their soul are slowly driven to insanity and eventually consumed by its flame, moving to pass on to the next host.
Unless they have a powerful will...

OOC Note: This is a potential idea. If anyone has an idea with it or wish to use this, contact @Angelight in game.

Brad Jones

Faye is dating Brad. Brad likes to make fun of the villains. Because of this, Brad gets kidnapped. This can be a bit of a problem.

Allies and Affiliates

These are the people she has either befriended or has been working with to ensure the public is protected. Either affiliates or people she has grown close to, they are the ones she isn't afraid to call on or heed their call when they need the help.

Groups

Aegis of Justice

The Cosmic Glory's first huge case she participated in was the return of Superior. With a drive to save Small Girl, a hero about the same age as her as well as hearing what he was capable of, she rallied as many heroes as she could to face his wrath head on. This impressed The Peacemaker at the time and referred her to Mr. Indomitable. She fought under their banner for a time before she went solo for a while. Eventually, with Thundrax's nemesis rising up to threaten the Aegis of Justice and Jim himself, she rejoined their ranks in order to protect him as well as fight alongside her old friends.
As of 2015, she hasn't worked with the Aegis of Justice and is currently an independant operative as of January 2015.

Circle of Justice

Despite the similiar name, it is a group of veteran superheroes that are called to help in big cases. It was formed by Thundrax and has called the heroes to action on many occasions. Recently, Cosmic Glory has gotten the call and has attended to the mission on the moon and the mission to save the national anthem from changing to "America, the Conqueror." She will continue to assist them as well as the Canadian hero.
Upon the Cosmic Glory's return in January 2015, she's intending to lend her assistance to the Circle of Justice and Thundrax once more!

Individuals

Mr. Blank

After meeting a few times, she has come to work with him when things happen. Of course, they also have plenty of disagreements...

Commander US

Almost like a walking war bonds advertisement to the Cosmic Glory, she finds him a little bit intimidating... Despite that, they have been working pretty well even if she doesn't know him very well.

Friends and Family

Chivalry

James Richardson is her knight in shining armor--in a fatherly or brotherly sort of sense. She had met him as Chivalry but came to know him as James with the death of her mother. He has always been there for her and even when questions rose with her adopted family, he took her in and protected her. She loved to clean his place and cook for them. Although having moved out, Faye will always invite James to her place or fight by his side. James is family, through and through.

Thundrax

She had seen him first through comic books and newspapers. He was a popular name she would cut out in newspapers and put under her box. Now, as a super hero herself, she fought with him side by side and he had came to her aid more then once... and she went to aid him. Thanks to Thundrax, the Cosmic Glory had to sing in order to save the world with other heroes. He became more then just a hero she looked up to. He became a hero she regarded as Craig Carson, a friend.

Brad Jones

Ever since Faye moved to Millennium City and enrolled into a new school, she met Brad when the two were being picked on by the local bullies. Ever since then, they discovered they had similar interests and became best friends. When Faye made her wish to the only star in the sky, her mind thought of Brad the most. Since he was a big fan of super heroes, she had to hide her identity as the Cosmic Glory out of fear his opinion would change of her. When cultists took him hostage, she had no choice but to change into the Cosmic Glory in front of him. To her relief, his opinion didn't change of her and they remained close. When she dated a millionaire boy, Brad found himself growing jealous and wanting to be more then just Faye's best friend.
It wasn't until Brad was used as bit by Galtoid the Infallible, hired by Viceroy, did she realize how much she cared for him. She, and other heroes, were able to save Brad in the end and it took a little pushing from a deceased prince to push them together.
Now they are dating and have been for two years. Faye couldn't imagine a better boyfriend. Though in moving together, she is finding how he hates to clean a little more then nerve wrecking. They are adapting to living together and its a slow process in getting to know each other's habits under one roof. With the Cosmic Glory back from retirement, Faye and Brad are prepared for the future and stay together... and let no villain tear them apart ever again.

Prince Frendel Somara

In another dimension, there lived a prince who was destined to marry a princess. Fate, and destiny, were controlled by a god... until he met a girl with amnesia and fell in love with her. Frendel and the girl, Cedany's love were absolute and he did not want to marry the princess anymore. The God of Fate, enraged, murdered his beloved. In despair, Frendel opened a box that held back free thought and all the dimension's woes... and a single flickering flame of hope that gave Frendel the power to face his god. In the end, Frendel was killed. Cedany's spirit would send him away to her home dimension and he was nearly lost in the sky over Millennium City. It wasn't until he heard Faye's wish full of hope and optimism did he decide to grant her wish... and let his soul, and power, become one with hers.
The bond let him see her thoughts, her wishes, her dreams and her fears. He foresaw a terrible fate for Faye Carrano being the Cosmic Glory and he sought to change it. Only Faye knew he was there in her dreams when a dream version of the kingdom of Somara would appear and he would be there to talk to her. In times of great need did Frendel take over Faye's body to help the other heroes or try to advice them. He wasn't very popular to some. In giving his power, though, Frendel knew his soul would be destroyed and he would face true death. Neither heaven or hell would take him, only true oblivion. It was something he wished to take. He saw Brad Jones as the perfect 'knight' to protect the unintentional heir. When the God of Fate came for him, he used the last of his life to save Faye and Brad but not before leaving behind a beautiful blue ribbon in the real world.
Frendel's influence lives on through the ribbon. When Galtoid had attacked and Vieroy manipulated the strings so Faye's own father would kill her, the last of Frendel was able to reach Brad in a dream. He took Brad to see her and told him to "protect her." It was then that Frendel's last act was shown and did he truly fade away for good. The ribbon still exists in the real world and Faye let Brad keep it. Brad will wear it like a headband sometimes like an action hero. However, Frendel's sacrifice and guidance was never forgotten. Faye calls him a true friend to the very end and continues to fight in his memory.

Enemies

The Black Omen(Deceased)

In the Cosmic Glory's early career, she came toe to toe with the The Black Omen. A powerful villain who wanted to save the world by destroying time itself, she was literally plucked from time itself to his pocket dimension to gloat among other things. She fought hard with other heroes but, in the end, the nefarious villain took her, beat her and tried to use her flames' power to destroy time as we knew it. Thanks to the sacrifice of Trauma and swift action of others, the flames and the Cosmic Glory was saved. As far as she's concerned, he's dead... at least, she hopes so.

Galtoid the Infallible(Arrested)

The Cosmic Glory's nemesis, Galtoid(the Infallible) led a world wide invasion of his brain alien army. It was easily thwarted and she was part of the team of heroes that invaded his main space ship and escaped. It should have been the last of Galtoid. Funded by the mysterious Viceroy, he made a come back in returning to Earth to kidnap civilians to turn them into his brain soldiers. In the ensuing chaos, he kidnapped her best friend, Brad Jones, and used him as bait to lure her and the others to his base. He was thwarted and is currently in jail.

She doesn't really know who he is. Viceroy funded different super villains in the past and he had a hand in Galtoid's return and the death of Faye's father. She doesn't know much else about him except that he's dangerous.

Comments from the Public

Have something to say about the Cosmic Glory? Say it here!

Chivalry: "Cosmic Glory is a fair and powerful maiden with strong morales! I did battle her not the other day and lo' she and I did battle perpetually to a stock standstill with no victor!"

Hunter: "Cos? Sweet kid. Gives me a heart attack ta see'er out here, fightin' monsters, killers, what have ya. But, I wouldn't be able ta stop her, an' sometimes ya can't NOT use yer powers. That said, kid should be careful so she can be an' old fart someday like me an'

Thundrax: "She has world of potential, and an even bigger heart. And a great singing voice too!"

Avro: "She's already a better hero than most of the other people out there. When Cosmic Glory is a little older, she's either going to be leading the Champions...or on Sixteen and Pregnant."

Mr. Blank: "Good. Perhaps better than good. For now, petulance and inexperience are obstacles stopping her from harnessing her true potential. She'd better hope she can overcome them before they overcome her."

The Peacemaker: "She's one of the best up-and-coming heroes we've got! She can handle her own out there, and that's good news for all of us."

Nightwave: "I don't put my faith in politicians or religions. I put my faith in people. People who are better than me. Cosmic Glory is one of these people. Shes the one I'm fighting for. Shes the only reason I need to don the mask."

Tomonari: "She's... w-well, nice. Um... honestly, I-I really don't know wh-what to really say. I don't r-really think much on her being a-a hero, but, she's an honest friend. I don't want that to change."

Dragonfly: "What can I say about Faye? She's the first girl to make me feel the way I do about her and I love spending time with her. I love seeing her face, her smile. What can I say? I love her, even if she is a little on the "petite" side, she's got a heart the size a' a jumbo jet."

Lightwave: "It's not often that I'll admit this, but there are some heroes that I am terribly jealous of. The ones that have it in them to be great, the ones with not only the power, but the heart. She's almost ten years younger than I am, but she's decades ahead of me, and has the potential to be much, MUCH more. She's a great kid with a huge heart, and I'm jealous, there, I said it."

The Reaper: "Kid's got style and kid's got power. Even though she looks frail and as thin as a toothpick, heaven help the lad that gets under her skin."

Gary Lelik: "Haven't met her all too much, but from what I could tell? She's one of the more upstanding folk we got horsing around. I'd buy her ice-cream for her heroics, but I figger she'd be creeped out by it.Anyway. Nice kid. Nuff said."

General Freedom: "She's a good kid with a lot of heart. Brave, respectful and kind. I hope this life doesn't beat that out of her."

Real Soviet Damage: "Ask Sascha, and Sascha say that conviction and heart greatest super powers of Comrade."

Fun Facts

  • Cosmic Glory's original hero name was going to be Starr. The same concept of being a hero with powers of a comet were there but the backstory of being a little girl was not there. This would not come until later when surfing for a proper hero name and finding inspiration from a certain superhero from the Marvel universe.
  • The Cosmic Glory is a concept based off of Haley's Comet many years ago. It was a big comet that flew in the sky and the color that @Angelight remembered from its tail was the color blue. That is why her flames were given a blue color, to emulate that comet in the sky. Her name, Faye, is named after another comet. You can read about Faye's Comet right here!
  • Faye loves stuffed animals. She has a huge fixation for teddy bears. She has one on her bed that she sleeps with every night named Fluffy. She had it ever since she was a baby.
  • Faye hates broccoli.
