Story of Zion

Origins

Inheritance

Charles Donald Kreiger, was a contracting genius, who was signed to build several very well known buildings all over the world. Most famous is his "C'est Vraiment Grand Tour", in France and the expensive "Cima di Pietra" Cathedral in Rome. He was one of many Kreiger famous for their architectural prowess. His son, Matthew E. Krieger, however, wanted to take the family in a new direction. He was a technical marvel, what his father could do with stone, he could do with metal and silicon. At a young age of 18, Matthew designed one of the earliest prototype combat suits that would later evolve into the A.C.E. power armors. The two would eventually work together in founding the Kreiger Family Corporation in 1978. Better known as Kf Corp. or KfC (but not to be confused with that turkey and chicken bakery!). The Corporation helped fund several big projects in the '80s, including several of Millenium Cities future skyscraper projects. Not only did the Kreigers help design the new world, they were also known for helping those in need. By 1982, Kf Corp had donated over $6 million in Detriots restoration, $43 million by 1984 in American charity organizations, and over $150 million world wide projects, fund raisers, political campaigns and charities. In 1985, the Kreiger family was listed as one of the most wealthy influential families of the decade.
Shortly after, Charles was striken with a rare South American disease while on vacation in the Amazons. The illness would later be diagnosed as fatal. In the fall of 1985, Charles D. Kreiger would be pronounced dead. Most of his blueprints were preserved and held in vaults in key banks. Though many never saw it to the final building stages, after KF CO dissolved years later, ACI and other lesser known players, had managed to acquire a few of Charles blueprints which was used to rebuild the devastated old Detroit, back in 1992, as a city of the future, Millenium City.
On April 7th, 1986, during a British fund raising event, Matthew met his destined to wed wife, Tambre Ellen McFennir. The two met during an evening ball, which Tambre was hired as a guest of honor and Lounge singer. The couple hit it off almost instantly. Agreeing to aid her in her climbing musical career, Matthew toured the world with Tambre. On Feburary 22, 1988, Matthew proposed and the two became engaged to be married in July of '89. By this time, Kf Corp had nearly become a billion dollar industry. Determined to keep the Kreiger legacy, the two publicly announced Tambre's pregnancy in March of 1990. Be-stricken by yet more tragedy; Doctors discover, in August, a uterine ulcer that would be incurable due to Tambres pregnacy. Nearing the end of Fall, the ulcer started causing severe complications. Doctors concluded that they would need to enduce labor early if they were going to save the child. On November 19, 1990, Alisa Kreiger was prematurely born, but her mother would not survive the labor. The death of his wife and knowing Alisa would be the last of the Kreiger's legacy certainly played its toll. Matthew fell into a deep depression, vowing not to remarry, but instead give as much time as he could to the only family he had left. Alisa spent a lot of her time growing up with the International legends. She viewed Sapphire as sort of an inspiration, and closest thing she had to a mother.

Price to Pay

In May of 1998, Matthew was planning on signing a deal that would merge Kf Corp into UNTIL's newly establish UNITY division. Jelous and greedy hearts would see to it that this deal would never happen. Matthew was attacked by an unknown convoy while on parade with the President of the United states. It was presumed the attack was lead by VIPER, but there was never any concreate evidence to suggest that this was actually the case. Incapacitaed, Matthew was rushed to a DC hospital where he stayed, in critical condition. Alisa stayed with her father for 2 weeks before it was announced his health was beginning to stablize. This unknown entity was very certain to make sure that Kf Corp would not dissolve into a charity organization build by heroes. This group secretly planned a final attempt to end the Kreigers family business by assassinating the two while they were stuck inside the DC hospital. Deep underground, they performed an incantation that would cause an immense nephiliac rift above, ment to tear apart the hospital. No hero had any idea where to find them, allowing the sorcerers to hold the rift open for three days. Nobody could rescue anyone inside the tear. The whole world would watch and wait, in horror, as the nephiliac energy continues ripping and tearing the area around it.
When the rift was finally closed on the third day, nothing but the remains of the torrents carnage remained. It was presumed that everyone in the building died. Later that night however, a search and rescue crew would come across a strange glowing light pouring out of a cache of rubble and cinder. It took them two hours to carefully pull the debri away from the center. When they finally hit the source, they found the body of a severely mangled eight year old child. Still breathing, but in such a condition many believed it a miracle she was still alive, the child was lifed by helecopter to a nearby emergency medical clinic. Though fairly confident, doctors refused to release information on the only survivor of the wrecked hospital. the childs nephiliac energy readings were off the chart, and over the course of a week, doctors sat in awe as the girls body slowly sealed itself back up with very little medical assistance.
After a few weeks of evaluation, the girl was released, under the protection of the All-Americans. She was cared for by the them for eight years, where they had spend time evaluating and training her away from public eye. News can never truely stay hidden, however. Rumors flew around the world. Some said that the All-Americans aquired a new super-hero. Others insisted they were caring for a niphilim. Tabloids spewed headlines that Alisa Kreiger was alive. The All-Americans let her go on her 16th Birthday, insisting she was now ready to help the world in her own way. This mysterious stranger had no name and no family to call her own. Now on her own, she walked the streets by herself. In the back of her mind, she was wondering if any of these rumors could be true.
Was she the lost daughter to Matthew Kreiger, victim to the same hospital she was found beneath the ruins? Could she possibly be a Niphilim, some how connected to the strange rift? Why did she have these powers, and what was she to do with them? This was too much for a 16 year old to grasp. The mysterious girl would vanish, not to be seen again for 2 years. When she surfaced again in 2009, she felt she was old enough to come to her own conclusions. She accepted the name of daughter to Matthew Kreiger, Alisa. The remains of Kf CO accepted and allowed this, signing over the entire Kreiger fortune to Alisa. With the inheritence of the Kreiger family; she had someone make for her a golden mantle, as a sign. Not of wealth or power. Not of greed or guilt, but as a symbol that she would give all she had to protect the world from what may very well have cost her, her life.

Life In Millenium

When Zion arrived at Millenium City, she was aware she needed more hands-on, in the actual field of super-heroing. With nothing to fall back on, she decided to register as an understudy. When UNTIL reviewed her application, they felt that, none other than, The Blue Bruiser would make the best candidate for her tutelage. She agreed to "sidekick" the rather famous hero in hope of learning the ropes from one of the best-of-the-best. She spend nearly four months as McTaviors understudy, learning the fine points of heroism, and all it had to give to the world through him. Though many times she would question his standing; never was she in doubt of the mighty champions vision of justice. The two of them would serve as direct UNTIL supervisor, until the beginning of the Bloodmoon. The Blue Bruiser had very strict methods, and would usually pin many responsibilities on Zion, but she would see it all through, no matter. Being the quick learner she had always been, it wasn't long before McTavior saw that she had grown into a great foundation, herself, of truth and justice. When he felt there was nothing else he could teach the young super heroine, he signed over her right to choose her own identity and register her as a fully licensed super-hero under the UNTIL act of moral obligation to those with abnormal or supernatural abilities. Three weeks before the events of the Bloodmoon, Zion established her own identity as one of the worlds most promising yound super-heroes.
With her new guise, Zion set out on her own to establish herself in the super hero community. Though she would often be the hind of many operations, Zion would never shy away from the obligation that were expected as a meta-human. Feeling it was her responsibility to repay the world for her governed powers, Zion took part in several key roles, prior to the events that took fourth during the Bloodmoon. Zion served a total of thirteen major operations; including the sanctification of Monster Island, several operations in the frozen north, and assisting Caliburn in a few of his ventures to become the archmage. As news spread of Zions achievements, she eventually became one of the most renown super heroes employed by UNTIL. Being the heir to the Kreiger family wealth was also no small feat. Zion spent most of her free time assisting families in need. Even after KF Co. had dissolved into several organizations, she was given enough finances to be a key player in several major worldwide charity organizations (such as Make-a-wish, Children Incorporated, and APDA). Her investments into many smaller scale liberal fields ensured that Zion would have enough support to assist in future charitable prospects. Through many of her generous acts, Zion gained recognition as one of Americas most notable saints, though she had enough humility to refuse any title associated as such. She became a prominent idol in the worlds on going restoration.

Leading into Bloodmoon

In a rise in various supernatural phenomena, Zion was forced into life changing situations during the Bloodmoon. The most notable, was that, due to high paranormal energies, Zions powers surge. This surge caused severe reactions, including focal damage to Zions nervous system resulting in an odd blindness. Though she couldn't see normally, she could still see high energy readings around her with enough focus. UNTIL was later able to fashion a device that would amplify the vision without her need to exert much energy, allowing her to focus on more important things. Due to Zions metaphysical nephilic energy, UNTIL had also assigned her as one of the primary heroes tasked at weeding out the old Archmage, Takofanes. With the help of Caliburn, Zion and several other para-being heroes, Takofanes was found and forced out of his subterranean hole and into the open, where countless heroes baned together to remove the threat of the old archmage, once and for all. Or so they hope.
At the end of the Bloodmoon crysis, when paranormal energies reverted back to their previously normal levels, Zions energy returned to normal, as did her vision. Though it seemed things would go back to the way they were, Zion would never be the same again. Knowing she wasn't as in control of her powers as she had thought, Zion started questioning her abilities as a Hero. A month after Bloodmoons closure, Zion resigned as an UNTIL Agent, and refused to involve herself in international affairs.

It was in this moment of silence, it would seem the world would never hear of Zion again...OR WOULD THEY?

The End of the World

This section is intended to explain the return of Zion and her part in Vibora Bay.

Personality

Due to her rather dark past, Zion is a very quiet girl when left by herself. Her default reaction to public is to put her shell up and hide in it. She has a deep fascination with Capes, however. She's always valued a very lawful outlook on life. She has a duty to give back to people what was given to her. She thinks very quickly, and often nearly as quickly in her speech. She'll often interrupt herself numerous times in a conversation, as a result, making her sound very timid or confused. That is farthest from the truth, however. When she is comfortable and welcomed around certain people, she can be very calm and understandable. She tries not to let her appearance be intimidating, but she has a secret fetish with the stereotypical "Clad Vixen" heroine, and figures she has the body for it.

Metaphysical Controls

Zions nephilic-based metaphysical control allows her to manipulate energy to surgically repair severely damaged cell structure in both animate and inanimate material. She can repair an immediate dismemberment with enough concentration. However, she is not able to create material from emptiness. She cannot assist against prolonged decay or massive blood loss. Likewise, she has an odd ability to repair cybernetic and robotic functionality without having any technical knowledge. Because of these metaphysical talents, Zion is commonly employed by UNTIL as a healer or field medic, aiding officers when they're injured on duty.

She has limited offensive ability. The only real control she has is her ability to piece together dead limbs from humans and animals to create a phantom body. This takes an immense amount of control, however, and she is unable to hold it together for long. She treats this more as a defensive ability, creating several "Meatshields" to divert attention by her aggressor.

This energy is very abundant inside her, and can be easily detected by those sensitive to different types of paranormal energy. Even those who have no innate or latent sensory can see some radiant appearance around Zion, usually. With some effort, Zion has the ability to draw in the brilliance. Even in this state, she is easily detectable to sensitive individuals, though. And doing so also leaves her in a weakened state, as well. So she does not pull in the aura that she normally gives off, very often.

Zion always tries to appear strong-headed and determined. There are a few things that easily put her on edge, however. Most notable is her profound hatred for Manimals, Lycanthrops and Beast-men. She generally feels that talking animals belong in a zoo, not let loose on a City. Most of it can be blamed for her ignorant idea that Animals are incapable of loving. Thus, they don't put forth the same amount of determination humans and other sentient creatures do, in pursuit of Justice. She also feels that, like dogs, Beast men are more susceptible to unprovoked violent, feral mood changes. Making them too unpredictable and unreliable as allies.

Another very distinct weakness Zion has, would be her stigmatic vision during the Blood Moon. During the period which marks the Blood Moon, Zion loses her vision, for unexplainable reasons. During the last Blood Moon, UNTIL scientists had designed a form of "Vision Harness" that allowed Zion to see energy expenditure in living tissue, allowing her to see all organisims. It wasn't as useful in non-organic life, since it relyed on energetic reaction in motion. Thus, so long as the inorganic was moving, Zion could make out the parts of the object. She was still helpless in seeing immobile object, though enough of the City was covered in indigenous flora that she could easily pace herself with moderate success.

Finally, one of her greatest weaknesses is Zions Martyrism. [But why? Must figure this one out in time]

Relationships

Friends and Allies

Blue Bruiser - [??] Primary leader of Rising Force and adopted brother. Zion manages to tolerate The Blue Bruisers eccentric attitude better than most other heroes. The two seem to bond in a really bizarre fashion and his over-protective nature often puts Zion at edge. But, she still finds The Blue Bruiser to be the closest thing to family she had now. [Of course, this could still be the case if Doc didn't RETCON BLUES STORY EVERY THREE WEEKS]
Crimson - The two appear to be very stand-offish toward each other. Having two personalities nearly identical, you would think they'd agree on a lot of things. However, each of their social reluctance tends to get them first, leaving very eerie moments between the two. Zion still enjoys what small time she has with the only other heroine she seems to get along with... so long as they're not each shelled from the other.
Felroth - An interesting creature. Zion amuses herself by thinking of him as a pet, though she understands the 'thingy' has more understanding than a mere animal. Felroth plays an important role in her bonding with Ixio, as a mediator of sorts.
Ixio / Ska - He one of the very few anti-heroes Zion doesn't mind being around. Perhaps it's because she doesn't feel he is truly as Anti-heroic as he plays himself out to be. Though originally she assisted him in rousing Blue up, from time time time; The two have interestingly bonded with each other.

Nemesis and Rivals

MaliceZion.jpg
Malice - Alias of Eric Deringer (pictured to the right); Malice is believed to be a bounty hunter hired by the DEMON who have been hunting the Kreiger family for many years now. His current where-abouts are unknown, after a bizzar breakout occurred during his second incarceration.
Dark Zion - Unknown Origins; Dark Zion had appeared directly following the events of the last Blood Moon. It's unknown who to attribute her to. The strongest suspicion is that the Dark Zion is mearly a shade manifestation of Zion, herself. A Mirrored opposite of everything Zion has become.

Other influences

Mortal Man - Though she hasn't had much time to spend around leader of the New Dawn, the limited contact she has had has left her inspired. The way he speaks, acts and treats those around him~ She see's Mortal Man as the Pillar of Heroism, though he would probably humbly discourage her from admitting this in his presence.

"Zzzzzzion... Shes freakishly good to look at, and also very nice to hang around with. Even though I'm banned from doing "funny" stuff." - Ixio
" *Coughs* ... Did I mention she made me the proudest hero ever? Best Sidekick by far. Sorry Throwdown, Push, Ixio." - The Blue Bruiser
"Zion and I get along well... most of the time. We don't have the same view on some things, which means we get into heated discussions occasionally. But I respect her and her opinion alot, and I would do almost as much for her as I would for Crimson." - King Voodoo
"It might seem like we're awkward together, and I guess in a way we are. But I respect Zion, and admire her a lot. She's as strong as I wish I could be, with a heart made of gold. She saved my life, and I'm forever grateful for that. Besides, anyone who can put up with Blue for as long as she has certainly demands respect." - Crimson
"fun, attractive, no-nonsense? Yep, all the qualities of a good friend, and more. For the time we've known each other, I feel rather comfortable around her, which was one of the faster developments compared to most people. I value her as a close friend, and always will," - Chris Jameson
